Abstract

Academic stress has become a common experience among students. Prolonged academic stress can have negative consequences, one of which is the disruption of students' mental health. Lovingkindness Compassion is one of the active protectors of mental health for students. However, there has been no research on the measurement of Lovingkindness in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to test the validity and reliability of the Lovingkindess Compassion measurement tool adapted from Cho (2018). The Lovingkindeness Compassion scale consists of 15 items with 3 dimensions: compassion, self-centeredness, and lovingkindness. The subjects of this study were 214 active students in Bandung. The results of confirmatory factor analysis show that the model fits with the goodness-of-fit indices of 0.051 (RMSEA), 0.060 (SRMR), and 0.869 (CFI). The results of the confirmatory factor analysis test show that the model fits with fit index values โ€‹โ€‹of 0.051 (RMSEA), 0.060 (SRMR), and 0.869 (CFI), so that the Lovingkindness Compassion measuring tool adapted to Indonesian is valid. Furthermore, the reliability test with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient yielded a result of 0.574, indicating that the measurement tool is reliable in the moderate category.

It involved 185 Bandung-based parents of children with a birth impairment. Skala Evaluasi Diri Kompetensi-Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus or SEDKO-ABK (Self-Evaluation Competence Scale for Parents with Children with Special Needs) was used as the instrument to measure the sense of competence, while parental involvement was measured using Kuesioner Keterlibatan Orang Tua dalam Pengasuhan Anak or KUKOPA (Questionnaire on Parental Involvement in Caring for Children). The results show that parental involvement in caring for, handling, and educating children with special needs. Based on the results of this research, training for parents is important to their understanding and skills in caring for children with a birth impairment.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is a critical issue, as this developmental stage is often marked by vulnerability to psychological problems, yet standardized measurement tools remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Student Mental Health Scale (ISKM-R-2) using the Rasch model. A methodological study design was adopted with a cross-sectional method, including 1,045 adolescents aged 15โ€“19 years. The results suggested that the instrument had a multidimensional structure, with a two-factor model showing a better fit than the unidimensional model. Rasch analysis showed acceptable item fit and high reliability across dimensions. However, the instrument items were relatively difficult for the sample, as shown by the Wright Map analysis. The results of this study supported the importance of a multidimensional method in measuring student mental health and provided evidence for further refinement of the instrument.
