Abstract

Infectious disorders known as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are spread through sexual contact. Female sex workers (FSWs) are particularly vulnerable to STIs. As of right now, FSWs' STI prevention practices are still insufficient. This is brought on by ignorance of STIs and failure to use condoms during sexual activity. This study's goal is to use the ADDIE Model to create a board game that educates female sex workers about sexually transmitted infections; Methods:  This research employed a research and development (R&D) approach utilizing the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the analysis stage, needs assessment was conducted to determine gaps in existing STI health promotion efforts. In the design stage, a board game concept was created tailored to FSW characteristics. During development, the board game was produced and subjected to feasibility testing for both media and content. The implementation stage involved a media trial with selected participants, and the evaluation stage focused on assessing the practicality and effectiveness of the game; Results: The analysis showed that FSWs had limited knowledge of STIs, and existing health promotion methods were not sufficiently interactive or engaging. The developed board game achieved a media feasibility score of 92% and a content feasibility score of 85%, indicating high practicality without the need for major revisions. During the implementation phase, 15 FSWs participated in a trial, with 93% reporting the game was practical and engaging; Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that using board games as a health promotion medium is very feasible for FSW to increase their knowledge about STIs because they are more interactive, enjoyable, new, and the information is relevant to what FSWs need to know.

Abstract

This paper addresses the challenges of optimizing environmental conditions in hydroponic farming by integrating an Intelligent Fuzzy Logic-Controlled IoT System. The research problem lies in the inefficiency of traditional hydroponic monitoring systems, particularly in maintaining ideal conditions for plant growth while minimizing resource waste. This study aims to develop a system that leverages IoT technology and fuzzy logic to monitor and automate hydroponic processes more efficiently. Using sensors, the system continuously tracks key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, pH levels, and total dissolved solids (TDS). A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) triggers actions based on predefined rules. During testing, the system showed effective performance—for example, activating fans when temperature (31.2°C) and humidity (60%) indicated a need for cooling, and adjusting nutrient levels when pH (5.8) and TDS (450 ppm) were suboptimal. The system offers practical benefits through real-time adaptation using defuzzification and aggregation, ensuring precise resource control, improving efficiency, and reducing waste. This study highlights the system's potential to support sustainable agriculture by providing scalable solutions that enhance plant growth and optimize resource use, especially for small-scale farmers and urban farming initiatives.

Abstract

Abstract

HIV cases among adolescents in Indonesia have been on the rise recently. Moderate to severe depressive symptoms are reported to be experienced by adolescents living with HIV, which coincides with this increase in cases. This suggests that it is essential to initiate strategic initiatives to enhance the efficacy of the initial screening process by implementing application-based HIV risk group identification through the use of psychological approaches. Designing a user interface that is appropriately structured and meets user requirements is crucial to ensuring the effectiveness of the application being developed. This investigation involved the assessment of feature requirements by HIV disease counselors and psychologists in accordance with the Human-Centered Design (HCD) methodology. Counselors who specialize in HIV disease contribute to the query elements utilized in the initial screening assessment. Meanwhile, psychologists contribute to the approval of the questions utilized as an initial screening test, which affects the psychological well-being and accuracy of adolescent users. The stages adopted for the implementation of HCD were modified in accordance with ISO 9241-210. This research generated user personas, use case diagrams, and the User Interface (UI) design for the VitaMind application, which is primarily designed for pre-test screening. This is a multiplatform application that comprises both web-based and mobile components. This application design has been tested using the system usability scale (SUS) method and produced an accuracy score of 86.1%. The primary contribution and novelty of this research lies in the application of Human-Centered Design principles to the development of a mental health-focused, pre-test HIV screening application tailored for students. Usability testing, employing the System Usability Scale (SUS) method, yielded results demonstrating a high degree of usability.
