Abstract

The lack of use of learning media that can help students in the learning process and connect learning materials with everyday life is the background of this research. This study aims to develop a media bulletin based on SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) using Adobe Flash CS6 to support learning in the subjects of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte solutions. Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model. Observations, interviews, and questionnaires are the techniques used to collect data. The data collection instruments were interview guides, observation sheets, validity, practicality, and student response questionnaires. The SETS-based bulletin that was developed was tested with a percentage of 90.14% (very valid), practical tested with a percentage of 91.96% (very practical), and received responses with a percentage of 90.78% (very practical). Based on these findings, it can be said that the SETS-based Bulletin using Adobe Flash CS6 in supporting the learning of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte subjects is valid and practical, so it can be tested further.

Abstract

The research development of STREAM-based blog learning media on periodic system element material was conducted to determine the feasibility as a learning media product.  It used Research and Development design with 4D Model.  The development results were validated by two expert validators, one practitioner validator and ten students of State Senior High School 1 Tembilahan as students limited test validators. The feasibility validations of quantitative data were analyzed by using percentage and the qualitative data (responses and suggestions) for validators’ improvement were used as considerations for making revisions.  Generally, the validators’ assessments of the development of STREAM-based blog learning media obtained that the mean percentage of validity results from material and media experts were 92.15%, the practicality test by the chemistry teacher was 94.33%, and the limited response test by the students were 87.6%.  So it could be concluded that the STREAM-based blog learning media was feasible to use in learning activities.

Abstract

The existence of the covid-19 virus made the government issue a policy regarding learning activities from home or online learning, in order to continue in getting the educational services to improve human resources. One of applications that could be used by teachers during online learning was Zoom meeting. This research aimed at seeing the effectiveness of E-learning using Zoom Media at State Senior High School 1 Kuantan Mudik. This research used descriptive quantitative research. Questionnaire of Google form technique with survey method was used for collecting the data. The effectiveness of E-learning using zoom was seen based on 4 indicators, namely 1) learning quality, 2) learning level suitability, 3) motivating effort and, 4) timing. Indicator 1 obtained that 71% was agree that learning material was well prepared, 68% was disagree that the material was delivered well, and 56% was disagree to follow that e-learning was well conducted. Indicator 2 obtained that 82% was disagree that e-learning could replace face-to-face class, 65% was disagree that the learning objectives have been achieved, 62% was disagree that the audio and video quality of the application strongly supported e-learning. Indicator 3 obtained that 66% was disagree that the internet access was good and 71% was disagree that internet connection was not constrained during e-learning. Indicator 4 obtained that 56% was agree that the lesson was well scheduled. Overall, e-learning using zoom was considered ineffective. It could be seen from the existing problems such as learning objectives that were not achieved, the material was not delivered properly, and the internet connection was not stable.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kurangnya media pembelajaran atau bahan ajar dalam membantu guru untuk menyampaikan materi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dan praktikalitas e-modul berbasis 3d pageflip dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi hidrolisis garam yang telah dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan Design & Development Reasearch (DDR) yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), dan evaluasi (evaluation). Subjek penelitian ini ialah 10 peserta didik kelas XII MIA 1, 2 guru kimia, 1 dosen ahli materi dan 1 dosen ahli media. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e- modul berbasis 3d pageflip dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi hidrolisis garam memperoleh persentase validitas ahli media dan ahli materi berturut-turut sebesar 83,6% dan 85% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Untuk persentase praktikalitas guru diperoleh nilai sebesar 93,3% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan uji respon peserta didik memperoleh hasil sebesar 89,6% dengan kriteria sangat menarik. Maka dari itu e modul dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) need to be implemented to create environmentally friendly chemistry learning. This can be done in an acid-base titration experiment using natural indicators of butterfly pea flowers. This research aims to produce a practicum guide for acid-base titrations using natural indicators of butterfly pea flowers that are valid and practicum. The research design uses the ADDIE research design, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research results showed that butterfly pea flowers can be used as a natural indicator for acid-base titrations with color changes from pink (acidic condition) to blue (basic condition). The resulting learning media is a practicum guide which has a validity of 92% (very valid) and a practicality level of 88.75% (very practical). This data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The practicum guide developed is valid and practical to use as a practicum learning media in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dan praktikalitas e-modul berbasis 3d pageflip dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi koloid yang telah dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan Design & Development Reasearch (DDR) yang terdiri dari 3 fase/tahapan yaitu analisis kebutuhan, pengembangan desain dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian ini ialah 10 peserta didik kelas XI MIA 1 MAN 2 Kampar, 2 guru kimia, 1 dosen ahli materi dan 1 dosen ahli media. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul berbasis 3d pageflip dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi koloid memperoleh persentase validitas ahli media dan ahli materi berturut-turut sebesar 96,92% dan 96% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Untuk persentase praktikalitas guru diperoleh nilai sebesar 97,89% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan uji respon peserta didik memperoleh hasil sebesar 93,25% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Maka dari itu e-modul ini dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Hasil belajar kimia siswa masih rendah, terlihat dari nilai ulangan yang belum tuntas atau tidak mencapai KKM yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil belajar yang rendah menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) pemahaman siswa terhadap materi hukum dasar kimia dan (2) faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar kimia siswa kelas X pada materi hukum dasar kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Minas. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah berupa tes, angket, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa siswa mempunyai tingkat pemahaman materi yang rendah sebesar 37,81%. Hal ini disebabkan karena siswa kurang memahami konsep hukum dasar kimia dan tingkat numerik siswa yang masih rendah. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang paling berpengaruh adalah faktor internal sebesar 58,62% sedangkan faktor eksternal sebesar 51,21%.

Abstract

Science literacy ability was one of abilities that should be owned by students, and this ability was on low category in Indonesia. It needed attention to be developed because of the successful indicators of chemistry learning process. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) approach toward student science literacy ability on Crude Oil lesson at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 5 Pekanbaru. It was a quasi-experimenta research with pretest and posttest design. The subjects of this research werethe eleventhgrade students of MIPA in the Academic Year of 2019/2020. Simple random sampling technique was used in this research, and it was obtained two sample classes—the eleventh-grade students of MIPA 2 (experimental group) and 3 (control group). The data of this research were collected through observation, preliminary data test that was homogeneity test, and final data tests that were pretest and posttest. N-gain and paired sample t-test with SPSS 21 were used to know the effect of implementing SSI approach in increasing student science literacy ability. The obtained score of n-gain showed that there was a significant increase of student science literacy ability, it was on high category for the eleventh-grade students of MIPA 2 and it was on medium category for the students of MIPA 3. The results of analyzing the preliminary and final data showed that the score of -tobserved was -22.491, -ttable was -2.0301, and +ttable was 2.0301 at 5% significant level. The score of - observed was lower than -ttable, and tobserved was higher than ttable, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It showed that there was aneffect of implementing SSI approach toward student science literacy ability on Crude Oil lesson at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 5 Pekanbaru. Abstract

This research aimed at finding out whether Problem Based Learning with Pre-Lecture Quiz was effective or not in increasing student critical thinking skill. This research was instigated with the learning taking place tended to be centered on the teacher and made students passive.  Students need to be actively involved in the learning process for effective and meaningful learning. Quantitative method was used in this research with quasi-experimental approach and pretest-posttest control group design. The samples were the eleventh-grade students of MIPA 5 as the control group and the students of MIPA 6 as the experimental group The techniques of analyzing data were t-test to find out the difference of student critical thinking skill and N-gain test to find out the effectiveness level.  The research findings showed that (1) the score signifigansi of t-test 0.000 was lower than 0.05, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.  The N-gain score of the experimental group was 76.8%, it was on effective category, the score of control group was 62%, and it was on effective enough category; and (2) The indicators of students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class were higher than the control class, especially in the indicators of strategy and tactics with a percentage of 84.21% and 76.01% respectively.  It could be concluded that PBL learning with PLQ was effective in increasing student critical thinking skill

Abstract

Developing Web Google sites based learning medium with STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach on Green Chemistry lesson was conducted. This research was instigated by the lack of Technologycal based learning media innovation in learning chemistry. This research aimed at finding out the design of Web Google sites based learning medium with STREAM approach on Green Chemistry lesson and finding out media validity, material validity, teacher practicality, and student response to Web Google sites based learning medium with STREAM approach on Green Chemistry lesson.  Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this research with Design, Development, Research (DDR) model with the following steps: analysis, design, development, and evaluation.  This research was conducted at State Senior High School 8 Pekanbaru.  The instruments of collecting data were interview sheet, validity test questionnaire, practicality test questionnaire, and student response questionnaire.  The result percentages of validity test were 95% by material experts and 95% by media experts with very valid criteria.  The percentage of teacher practicality test was 90% with very practical criteria, and the percentage of student response test was 94.04% with very interesting criteria.  So, it could be concluded that Web Google sites based learning medium with STREAM approach on Green Chemistry lesson was very appropriate to be used in the learning activity.
