Abstract

Red chilli productivity is influenced by land suitability, climatic factors, and nutrient content. Various ways are done and continue to be developed to overcome land problems with actual soil conditions that are not suitable, as well as to overcome the constraints of high rainfall. The purpose of the study was to determine the actual and potential land suitability and inhibiting factors for large chilli plants in Gantarang District. The results of actual land suitability are marginal suitability (S3) with limiting factors of water availability (high rainfall) in all land units and rooting media (soil depth) in land units 4 and 7. Improvement efforts made for high rainfall are by making drainage channels, raising beds, and planting at the end of the rainy season. Improvement efforts with the limiting factor of soil depth in land units 4 and 7 are tillage on solid, soft, and thin layers. Efforts to improve soil depth require sophisticated tools and technology, and high costs.

Abstract

The distribution of shelled corn in West Malangke District is dominated by intermediaries, resulting in a low farmer's share received by farmers, especially women farmers. This study aims to identify the role of women in the shelled corn distribution chain, analyze marketing margins, and evaluate the profit-to-cost efficiency of each distribution channel in West Malangke District. The results indicate four trading channels, with Channel I as the primary channel, where the highest marketing margin was recorded at IDR 325 per kg, but the lowest farmer's share was only 92.58%. Conversely, Channel IV, which eliminates the role of intermediaries, provided a farmer's share of 100%. The highest profit-to-cost ratio was achieved by village collectors in Channel I (0.68), while wholesalers had a relatively stable profit ratio across channels. These findings suggest that the shorter the distribution chain, the greater the profits received by farmers. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of shortening the distribution chain and empowering women farmers through more efficient market access, as well as the need for policies to improve trading efficiency to support farmer welfare.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian lahan di Kecamatan Sinjai Utara merupakan salah satu wilayah penghasil padi Kabupaten Sinjai. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian survei dengan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif adalah penelitian yang data perolehan dari sampel populasi penelitian dianalisis sesuai dengan metode statistik yang digunakan kemudian diinterpretasikan. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada 2 yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Populasi yang menjadi objek pada penelitian ini adalah petani padi di kecamatan sinjai utara dengan jumlah petani 1562 orang yang tersebar di enam kelurahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan Nilai Signifikansi Sig (2-tailed): Dari tabel output diatas diketahui nilai Sig sebesar 0.115> 0.05 yang berarti tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara indeks kesesuaian lahan dengan produktivitas. Sedangkan Nilai r hitung (Pearson Correlations): Diketahui nilai r hitung adalah sebesar 0.562 < r tabel 0.666 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan korelasi antara indeks kesesuaian lahan dengan produktivitas. Tidak adanya korelasi antara indeks kesesuaian lahan dengan produktivitas disebabkan oleh keadaan iklim pada beberapa waktu pertumbuhan padi, beberapa wilayah kejenuhan basa sangat rendah, iklim yang berubah serta serangan hama dan penyakit.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to utilize water used for ablution from the Darul Mukhlisin mosque congregation, which is located ± 100 m from the medicinal plant garden, by collecting the water in a reservoir and draining it into the medicinal plant garden. This activity was carried out with partners from the Darul Mukhlisin farmer group and the local community. The stages of the activities carried out were: (1). Preparation of tools and materials (2) Making a reservoir with a size of 200 cm x 100 cm x 120 cm., (3) Making a water pipe installation from the reservoir to a water tank with a size of ± 100 m, , (4) Installing a water tank and water pump. The output targets that have been obtained are the availability of water reservoirs used for ablution, installation of water pipes complete with water pumps that are installed from the location of the ablution place to the medicinal plant garden area

Abstract

Unlike other crops, soybeans can be produced for both direct human consumption and industrial use. However, soybean production is highly sensitive to drought. This is because drought conditions can reduce photosynthesis and crop yield. This study aimed to investigate drought adaptations in soybean plants, including stomatal control, drought-induced carbon assimilation, and avoidance. The study was conducted in a greenhouse under controlled conditions using a split-plot design with 3 stress levels (100%, 50%, and 30% of field capacity), 4 varieties (Dering-1, Dering-2, Detap-1, and Argomulyo), and 2 stress periods (vegetative and generative). Strong variation in yield was observed across all drought-affected plant growth factors, including photosynthetic rate and grain yield. Under moderate stress conditions (achieving a 0.8 t/ha yield), the Detap-1 variety fully maintained photosynthetic capacity and appropriately modulated stomatal closure and stomatal regulation to achieve the most efficient water control. This leads to the conclusion that Detap-1 is best suited to the dryland conditions of the varieties studied due to its strong physiological adaptability.
