Abstract

The Covid-19 virus attacks many vulnerable groups, one of which is the elderly group. The achievement of Covid-19 vaccination in the elderly group is still low. Of the 333 elderly people who have been successfully vaccinated, only 125 have been vaccinated. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of structural interventions given to the elderly group on increasing Covid-19 vaccination achievements. The method used is a quantitative method with Pre-experimental designs one-group pretest-posttest design. The data used is data from the Bagor Health Center as of December 30, 2021. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. The total sample of this study was 137 respondents. Based on the results of the mc nemar test, a significance value was obtained, namely, the value of 2obs = 125.008 and p-value of 0.000 with = 0.05. So there is a difference in willingness to be vaccinated between before the intervention and after the intervention. Structural interventions carried out in the elderly group who have not received the covid-19 vaccination can increase the achievement of the covid-19 vaccination in the elderly group so that it can accelerate the formation of herd immunity in the community.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transitional period marked by rapid physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. Inability to manage these changes can lead to stress and negatively affect mental health, including anxiety, depression, and destructive behaviors. In Indonesia, the prevalence of mental health problems among adolescents continues to rise, particularly in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), where psychological well-being is often overlooked. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based mental health education through the SAKTI Remaja mobile application in improving adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and mental health conditions in Islamic boarding schools. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test was used. A total of 80 students from a pesantren in Baron District, Nganjuk Regency, were selected using purposive sampling. The intervention was conducted over two weeks using the SAKTI Remaja app, which provided educational videos on emotional regulation, stress management, stigma, and help-seeking behavior. Instruments included the Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire (AMHLQ), Mental Health Attitude Scale (MHAS), and Self-Reported Mental Health Condition Checklist. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: There was a significant improvement in knowledge (pre-test = 56.5; post-test = 82.5; p < 0.001), mental health attitudes (pre-test = 62.3; post-test = 75.2; p < 0.001), and a decrease in mental health symptoms (pre-test = 3.5; post-test = 2.1; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that video-based education through the SAKTI Remaja app effectively enhanced mental health literacy, promoted positive attitudes, and reduced psychological symptoms among adolescents in pesantren. Conclusion: The SAKTI Remaja application is an innovative and effective educational intervention for improving knowledge, attitudes, and mental health conditions among adolescents in Islamic boarding schools. This video-based education model offers a relevant promotive and preventive strategy that can be integrated into youth health programs in religious-based educational institutions.

Therefore, there is a need to identify the causing factors of low adherence. Purpose: Identify and analyse knowledge and awareness of iron deficiency and its impacts on adherence to iron supplements. Methods: A Cross-sectional study on 376 female students in the Baron subdistrict. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument, and data were analysed using binary regression logistics. Results: A Cross-sectional study with stratified random sampling on 376 female students in the Baron subdistrict. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument, and data were analysed using binary regression logistics. The majority of respondents have sufficient knowledge of iron deficiency. However, they have low awareness and adherence to iron supplementation. Knowledge has no impact on adherence (p-value 0.823), whereas awareness (p-value 0.000) has a significant impact on adherence to iron supplementation. Conclusion: Knowledge has no impact on iron deficiency adherence, while awareness of iron deficiency prevention influences has a strong impact on adherence to iron supplementation adherence. Innovative programs are needed to increase not only knowledge but also awareness and adherence to iron supplements.

Abstract

This study analyzed the efficiency of bed use using the Barber Johnson graph as an effort to reduce the length of waiting time for inpatients in the emergency room of Wava Husada Kepanjen Hospital. The research method used a mixed design with quantitative data collection to measure efficiency indicators such as BOR, LOS, TOI, and BTO, as well as qualitative interviews to explore the factors that cause long waits. The results showed high bed occupancy rates and bed turnover, which contributed to the length of patient wait times. This study suggests optimizing bed management and improving organizational processes to accelerate patient services. These findings provide practical implications for hospital management to improve patient flow and emergency service efficiency.
