Abstract

Abstract

Poor student motivation in Akidah Akhlak topics as a result of traditional, teacher-centered techniques, which resulted in poor involvement, attention, and interest, served as the impetus for this study. Using animated YouTube videos that highlighted the inspirational tale of Prophet Musa, it sought to increase the motivation of eighth-grade pupils at MTsN 4 Banda Aceh. The study was carried out with 27 students in two cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection using a qualitative Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology based on Kemmis and McTaggart. Descriptive analysis was used to examine data from observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The usefulness of animated movies in education was demonstrated by the results, which revealed that motivation went from 62.9% (good) in Cycle I to 96% (very excellent) in Cycle II, showing better attention, involvement, confidence, and knowledge of Prophet Musa's beliefs

Abstract

Globally, there is a recognized need to develop resilient, culture-based educational models that effectively integrate traditional values with modern challenges. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between cultural elements and the educational system in Acehnese dayah (traditional Islamic boarding schools) by employing a holistic-integrative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis at two major dayah in Aceh: Dayah Babussalam Al-Hanafiyyah and Dayah MUDI Mesra Samalanga. Findings reveal that the dayah educational system is intricately linked to seven cultural elements (e.g., knowledge, social organization, religion), forming a unique educational ecosystem. Key mechanisms, including the halaqah method, the use of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), and spiritual arts (zikir), facilitate the transmission of religious, social, and spiritual identity. This system both preserves classical Islamic values and demonstrates gradual adaptation to modernity. Islamic education in Acehnese dayah represents a resilient, culture-based learning model that successfully cultivates religious understanding alongside social and spiritual identity. This research offers a robust reference for contextual development of Islamic education, showing how traditional models can be strengthened by integrating local culture while effectively responding to modernization without abandoning their foundational roots.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high economic contribution of the palm oil plantation sector in Indonesia and Aceh Province, which empirically triggers contemporary legal debate due to the absence of explicit mention of the commodity in classical religious texts. The purpose of this research is to analyze the foundations of contemporary fiqh, compare technical provisions (nishab, haul, and kadar), and examine the theoretical and practical implications of the dualism of fatwa between the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Aceh Ulema Consultative Assembly (MPU). The method used is a normative Islamic legal research with a qualitative approach based on library research through content analysis and comparative analysis techniques. Primary data sources come from MUI Fatwa Number 3 of 2003 and MPU Aceh Fatwa Number 9 of 2013, supported by secondary data in the form of zakat fiqh literature, scientific journals, and official statistical data. The main findings of this research explore the epistemological dialectic between the Shafi'i school of thought approach based on illat al-qut wa al-iddikhar and contextual reasoning based on illat al-nama' wa al-kasb. The theoretical significance of this competing paradigm enriches contemporary Islamic legal studies in reconstructing the dynamic economic functionality of public property. The formulation of a harmonization model for palm oil zakat offers a significant contribution by separating the management of small-scale community palm oil plantations from corporate palm oil. Regular integration of this model into the technical regulations of Baitul Mal Aceh and BAZNAS has the potential to support efforts to bridge differences in the fatwa authority, provide alternative legal certainty for zakat payers, and optimize the sustainable distribution of wealth for mustahik (recipients of zakat).
