Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teacher professionalism in classroom management as a determining factor of effective learning. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through interviews and observations at SMAN 2 Tambang, SMAN 1 Tambang, and SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. The findings reveal that professional teachers not only possess pedagogical competence but also demonstrate reflective attitudes, responsiveness to student needs, and the ability to create enjoyable and interactive learning environments. Professional teachers design flexible and adaptive lessons, provide constructive feedback, and routinely engage in self-evaluation. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening teacher professionalism as the foundation for meaningful and high-quality learning processes. Therefore, continuous development of teacher professional competence should be encouraged to achieve holistic educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of teacher pedagogical competence in three secondary schools with different characteristics, namely SMP Negeri 3 Tapung, SMAN 1 Tambang, and SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Pedagogical competence does not only include the ability to deliver material, but also reflects an understanding of student characteristics, contextual learning strategies, and effective and enjoyable classroom management. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observations to explore the experiences of teachers, principals, and students in the daily learning process. The results of the study showed variations in the application of pedagogical competence influenced by social environmental factors, facilities, and teacher readiness to respond to changes in education policy. Despite facing challenges such as limited facilities and administrative burdens, some teachers were able to demonstrate high dedication and innovation in learning. This study provides a comprehensive overview of pedagogical practices in the field and is expected to be an input in formulating policies to improve teacher quality contextually and sustainably.

Abstract

Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability (KPMM) is one of the essential skills that must be developed, as it trains students to formulate appropriate solution strategies, understand the meaning of each step, and cultivate systematic thinking habits. One of the tools that can be utilized to support the development of KPMM is the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD). Various studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of using LKPD in improving students' KPMM; however, comprehensive reviews that specifically examine the effectiveness of LKPD based on educational level and the form of LKPD used are still limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and synthesize previous research findings on the effectiveness of LKPD in supporting students’ KPMM in terms of educational level and LKPD format through a meta-analysis method. The population and sample of this study consist of journal articles and national conference proceedings selected according to PRISMA guidelines. The results of the meta-analysis show that the use of LKPD has a very strong influence on enhancing students' KPMM, with an effect size of 2.123. Based on educational level, LKPD is proven to be more effective when used at the junior high school level (SMP) compared to the senior high school level (SMA), while in terms of format, digital LKPD is more effective than printed LKPD in supporting students' KPMM.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning skills are an important aspect of mathematics learning that supports students in understanding concepts deeply and logically. With the development of technology, the use of interactive learning media such as Geogebra has become a promising alternative to improve the quality of learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of Geogebra-assisted learning on students' mathematical reasoning skills through a meta-analysis approach. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA guidelines, covering publications from 2015 to 2025 that meet specific inclusion criteria. The analysis of seven research articles revealed that six of them showed a large to very large effect on improving mathematical reasoning skills, while one article showed a small effect. These findings reinforce the conclusion that Geogebra is generally effective in supporting the development of students' mathematical reasoning skills and is worthy of being part of mathematics learning strategies in the digital age.

Abstract

This article discusses the challenges of implementing the Merdeka Learning Curriculum in mathematics education at secondary schools. The study aims to identify the obstacles faced by educators in applying this curriculum, including teacher readiness, infrastructure, and project-based learning methods. Through literature review, it was found that many teachers struggle to understand the new curriculum concepts and access digital learning platforms. Additionally, limitations in facilities and government policies deemed overly prescriptive also pose significant hurdles. Nevertheless, the Merdeka Curriculum offers opportunities to enhance educational quality through a more flexible approach. This research provides recommendations for evaluation and increased training for teachers to support more effective implementation. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for educators and policymakers in optimizing the application of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a new policy developed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology as an effort to restore learning after the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the 2013 Curriculum. This curriculum emphasizes flexibility, student-centered learning, and strengthening character through the Pancasila learner profile. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing Merdeka Curriculum in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained from 25 scientific articles, and after selection, 10 articles were declared relevant. The study results show that the Merdeka Curriculum has a positive impact on the quality of education, such as increasing creativity, independence, 21st century skills, and teacher professionalism. However, the implementation of this curriculum also faces obstacles, such as limited facilities, uneven teacher training, and disparities between education units. Therefore, continuous training, consistent supervision, and equitable policy support are needed to optimize the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of digital learning media in supporting mathematics learning that is aligned with the spirit of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on twenty scientific articles that discuss the use of digital media in learning mathematics at various levels of education. The results of the study show that digital learning media such as the Canva application, Wordwall, digital comics, animated videos, and educational games can significantly improve concept understanding, learning motivation, and student engagement. Digital media also supports the differentiated and contextual learning approach that is the main characteristic of Merdeka Curriculum. This study concludes that digital media is not only effective in conveying abstract material visually and interactively, but also encourages the development of students' 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, independence, and creativity. The findings are expected to be a reference for teachers, researchers, and policy makers in designing innovative and adaptive mathematics learning strategies in the digital era.

Abstract

Rendahnya mutu pendidikan matematika di Indonesia masih menjadi perhatian berbagai pihak, termasuk pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan, dan masyarakat. Salah satu faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap persoalan ini adalah rendahnya tingkat keprofesionalan guru dalam menyampaikan pembelajaran matematika secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi peningkatan keprofesionalan guru sebagai upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan matematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terhadap sepuluh artikel ilmiah terpilih yang diterbitkan pada rentang tahun 2020–2025 dan membahas program pelatihan guru seperti workshop, PPG, serta pengembangan kurikulum. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kompetensi guru, terutama dalam integrasi teknologi digital, keterampilan pedagogik, literasi kurikulum, dan praktik reflektif, berdampak signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan nyata di kelas sebagai prioritas dalam kebijakan pendidikan nasional demi peningkatan mutu pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji validitas Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) guna mendukung peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada materi statistika. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa serta kurangnya bahan ajar yang inovatif dan efektif, khususnya pada materi statistika. Pengembangan LKS dilakukan menggunakan model ADDIE, namun penelitian ini dibatasi hingga tahap pengembangan (Development) dan uji validitas. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket validasi disebarkan kepada para ahli, yaitu dosen dan guru, untuk menilai aspek isi dan konstruksi LKS. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan kuantitatif, dengan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan rumus indeks Aiken. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis PBL yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid oleh para ahli, baik dari segi isi maupun konstruksi. Dengan demikian, LKS ini layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar untuk mendukung peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada materi statistika. Pengembangan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif inovatif bagi guru serta berkontribusi pada pembelajaran matematika yang lebih efektif, khususnya dalam menumbuhkan kemampuan penalaran melalui aktivitas yang kontekstual dan berpusat pada siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP/MTs pada materi peluang. Permasalahan yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dan belum tersedianya bahan ajar yang mampu mengarahkan siswa pada proses berpikir logis dan reflektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE, namun dibatasi hingga tahap pengembangan (development). Proses pengembangan mencakup analisis kebutuhan, desain LKPD, dan validasi ahli. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket validasi yang diberikan kepada tiga validator, terdiri dari satu dosen dan dua guru matematika. Hasil validasi menunjukkan nilai indeks Aiken sebesar 0,73 untuk ahli materi dan 0,75 untuk ahli teknologi, yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah LKPD berbasis PBL dapat menjadi alternatif bahan ajar kontekstual yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.
