Abstract

Abstract: Intake behavior in students was influenced by a variety of complex factors that involve exposure to high stress, which can cause intake to increase or decrease that can result in a dependency on fast food that has a low nutritional value but is high in fat and sugar. The study aims to determine the correlation between fiber intake, fat intake, and nutritional status and its effect on Total Cholesterol (TC) levels in adolescents. This is an Analytical Observational study with Cross Sectional Approach conducted at FK Unsrat on February-April 2020, and using Total Population Sampling Technique. Data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation Test and Simple Linear Regression. There was a positive correlation between fiber intake and TC levels (p=0,020; R=0,199). There were no correlation between fat intake and nutritional status with TC levels (p=0,914, 0,522; R=0,009, -0,056) respectively. The simple linear regression equation was: Y=2,20+0,003 X. There was a positive correlation between fiber intake and TC levels, while fat intake and nutritional status have no correlation with TC levels. For every 1 gr of fiber intake elevation will be followed by 0,003 mg/dL elevation on TC levels.Keywords: fiber intake, fat intake, nutritional status, total cholesterol levels, adolescents  Abstrak: Perilaku asupan pada mahasiswa dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor kompleks yang melibatkan paparan terhadap stress yang tinggi sehingga menyebabkan asupan yang meningkat atau menurun yang dapat berakibat terjadinya ketergantungan terhadap makanan cepat saji yang memiliki nilai gizi yang rendah tetapi tinggi akan lemak dan gula. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara asupan serat, asupan lemak, dan status gizi serta pengaruhnya terhadap kadar kolesterol total remaja. Jenis penelitian yaitu Observasional Analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional yang dilakukan di FK Unsrat pada Februari-April 2020, dan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu Total Sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Korelasi Pearson dan Regresi Linier Sederhana. Terdapat korelasi positif antara asupan serat dengan kadar kolesterol total (p=0,020; R=0,199). Tidak terdapat korelasi antara asupan lemak dan status gizi dengan kadar kolesterol total (p=0,914, 0,522; R=0,009, -0,056) secara berurutan. Persamaan regresi linier sederhana mendapatkan rumus: Y=2,20+0,003 X. Terdapat korelasi positif antara asupan serat dengan kadar kolesterol total, sedangkan asupan lemak dan status gizi tidak memiliki korelasi dengan kadar kolesterol total. setiap peningkatan asupan serat 1 gr akan diikuti dengan peningkatan kadar kolesterol total sebesar 0,003 mg/dL.Kata kunci: asupan serat, asupan lemak, status gizi, kadar kolesterol total, remaja

Abstract

Balanced nutrition in early childhood is very important in achieving optimal growth and development, because in this period children begin to learn what, when and how to eat either through direct experience or seeing other people which will have an impact on their developmental health.  Increased in health problems on children mainly caused by various factors including parent economic status, parenting patterns, and the level of knowledge and awareness of healthy and nutritious food on children. This will potentially lead to new health problems and will have an impact on children’s growth and development which will affect their productivity in the future. The purpose of this community service is to carry out mentoring for early childhood nutrition education for parents and teachers at PAUD Samratulangi in Manado City. The targets are parents and teachers at PAUD Samratulangi in Manado City. The activity was held on June 11th, 2022 with several stages including preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. The preparation stage is carried out by conducting survey location and obtaining permits at the activity site. Implementation is carried out by providing balanced nutrition assistance to parents and teachers. Evaluation is carried out by collecting data from the impelentation activities, in this case by providing a knowledge questionnaire about balanced nutrition for early childhood. The result of this activity is the impelentation of balanced nutrition assistance to parents and teachers. The implementers of this community service activities are lecturers and undergraduate students form the Nutrition Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Manado

Abstract

Masalah gizi pada balita merupakan salah satu tantangan kesehatan yang dihadapi oleh banyak negara. Dalam upaya mengatasi masalah tersebut, pelatihan kader Posyandu, yang merupakan kelompok terdekat dengan masyarakat, dalam pengukuran antropometri sangat penting untuk menghasilkan data yang lebih akurat guna menentukan intervensi yang tepat. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan kader, bermitra dengan Puskesmas Girian Weru, telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 September 2024 di Gedung Puskesmas Girian Weru. Kegiatan pelatihan ini mencakup penyuluhan teori, praktik pengukuran, serta evaluasi pengetahuan menggunakan kuesioner pre dan post-test, dan evaluasi keterampilan kader berdasarkan kesesuaian praktik pengukuran dengan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) yang diberikan. Hasil evaluasi pre-test dan post-test secara deskriptif menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan kader, meskipun tidak signifikan secara statistik (p-value = 0,527). Namun, hasil observasi praktik pengukuran memperlihatkan bahwa kader mampu melaksanakan prosedur pengukuran antropometri dengan benar sesuai SOP. Pelatihan ini secara praktis berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan kader dalam melakukan pengukuran antropometri balita secara akurat, meskipun peningkatan pengetahuan secara statistik belum signifikan. Keberhasilan ini menunjukkan pentingnya pelatihan berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat kemampuan kader dalam memantau pertumbuhan balita.

Abstract

Malnutrisi baik itu kekurangan maupun kelebihan hingga saat ini menjadi tantangan global yang berdampak negatif pada kondisi sosial dan ekonomi suatu negara. Anak-anak khususnya menjadi kelompok yang paling rentang mengalami malnutrisi akibat kebutuhan zat gizi harian yang dibutuhkan untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. Di negara-negara berpendapatan rendah, ibu berperan penting dalam meningkatkan status gizi anak. Pengetahuan tentang gizi, perilaku, dan praktik pemberian makan baik kedua orang tua atau ayah/ibu merupakan faktor penting yang dapat mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat pengetahun gizi ibu dengan status gizi balita. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu observasional analitik menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional. Variabel bebas pada penelitian ini yaitu tingkat pengetahuan gizi ibu, sedangkan variabel terikat pada penelitian ini yaitu status gizi balita dengan menggunakan Indeks Berat Badan Menurut Umur (BB/U). Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu balita berusia 6-59 bulan dan ibu yang berdomisili di Desa Minaesa Kecamatan Wori Kabupaten Minahasa Utara yaitu sebanyak 117 orang. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total population. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga Juni tahun 2024. Data dianalisis secara bivariat dengan menggunakan Uji Spearman’s Rho. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan gizi ibu dengan status gizi balita dengan nilai p = 0,000 dan koefisien korelasi 0,352. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan gizi ibu terhadap status gizi balita. Arah korelasi positif yang artinya ketika skor pengetahuan meningkat maka akan diikuti dengan peningkatan status gizi.

Abstract

Program kerja ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya makanan bergizi dalam pencegahan stunting dan pencegahan penangulangan bencana banjir. Kegiatan ini mencangkup penyuluhan mengenai stunting, pemberian makanan tambahan berupa puding alpukat sebagai alternatif makanan berigizi, serta pelatihan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) sebagai pemberian puding alpukat sebagai alternatif makanan bergizi, serta pelatihan BHD (bantuan hidup dasar) kegawat daruratan bencana banjir. Sasaran utama adalah ibu hamil dan ibu menyusui serta masyarakat. Dengan keterlibatan mitra seperti puskesmas setempat dan kader kesehatan, diharapkan program ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kebiasaan baik dalam pola makan dan sanitasi keluarga dalam rangka membangun kesiapsiagaan terhadap bencana serta meningkatkan kemandirian masyarakat dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan keluarga saat menghadapi situasi krisis bencana banjir sehingga diharapkan dapat membantu mencegah dan meminimalisir potensi terjadinya berbagai masalah kesehatan pasca banjir termasuk diantaranya masalah stunting. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan metode penyuluhan dengan edukasi serta pelatihan. Waktu pelaksanaan dilakukan pada tanggal 8 februari 2025. Peserta yang ada sejumlah 25 ibu hamil dan ibu menyusui. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah sebanyak 25 peserta ibu hamil dan ibu menyusui yang ikut serta dalam kegiatan ini sudah mencapai hasil yang diharapkan, dengan angka presentase sebanyak 90% telah mengetahui dan paham tentang pentingya pencegahan stunting. Hal ini tentu menjadi langkah awal dari masyarakat yang paham dan mampu dalam mencegah naiknya angka stunting yang ada di Desa Paku Bolaang Mongondow Utara.

Abstract

Children's cognitive, emotional, social, motoric, and language development needs to be supported with healthy growth, especially during the preschool age period. To maintain good health from a preschool age, a person must improve their level of health by controlling factors that can pose a negative risk to their own well-being. Teachers play a crucial role in the school structure as agents of change. A change agent is an individual who possesses the skills and abilities to stimulate, facilitate, and coordinate change. Anthropometric measurements are a method of assessing nutritional status that involves evaluating the dimensions and composition of the human body, including body weight and height. Monitoring the growth of early childhood through routine anthropometric measurements every month and determining nutritional status using graphs or growth curves established by the Government is crucial because it is one of the efforts to prevent stunting. This mentoring activity consists of three stages: the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The target audience of this activity is teachers in the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) environment. The activity was conducted at Alwildan Kindergarten, Manado City, and RA Darul Faizin, Manado City, with a total of 10 participants. Pretest questionnaire results showed that only 30% of participants demonstrated good knowledge, with a score of 80 or higher. In contrast, the posttest questionnaire results indicated that all participants demonstrated good knowledge about nutrition and techniques for measuring weight and height, with a score of 80 or higher.

Abstract

Background: Anemia among adolescent girls is a global public health issue that can impair growth, cognitive function, and future reproductive health. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the influence of various nutritional, socioeconomic, and physiological factors on hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 50 adolescent girls aged 11–19 years. Data collection included anthropometric measurements, dietary intake assessments, and a structured questionnaire on sociodemographic characteristics and menstrual patterns. Hemoglobin levels were measured using a standard hemoglobinometer. Bivariate analysis using Spearman’s Rho and multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression were performed to determine the associated factors. Results: The prevalence of anemia was 26%. Bivariate analysis showed significant correlations between hemoglobin levels and mid-upper arm circumference (r = 0.356; p = 0.011), protein intake (r = 0,271; p = 0.050), and iron intake (r = 0.293; p = 0.039). Multivariate analysis revealed that MUAC and protein intake were the most influential factor affecting hemoglobin levels (p = 0.021 and 0.025 respectively). Other variables such as BMI-based nutritional status, parental income, vitamin C intake, anemia-related knowledge, and menstrual characteristics did not show significant associations. Conclusion: The findings highlight that improving dietary intake particularly of protein and iron and regularly monitoring MUAC are practical steps to reduce anemia among adolescent girls. These insights offer valuable guidance for nutritional interventions focused on adolescent well-being. Abstract

Background: Social media can negatively impact body image and increase the risk of eating disorders in adolescents, yet these platforms are widely used. Adolescents tend to worry about their appearance in response to social media content. Negative body image is a risk factor for eating disorders, which can impact adolescents' nutritional status, leading to undernutrition or overnutrition. Purpose: To determine the influence of social media on body image and eating disorders in adolescents. Method:  The study design used a descriptive analytical approach with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 211 eleventh-grade students from Senior High School in Tondano, Minahasa Regency, taken using a total sampling technique. Body image was measured using the MBSRQ-AS, eating disorders were measured using the EAT-26 questionnaire, and social media was measured using the ASMC Scale questionnaire. Results: The majority of respondents had a positive body image (85.8%), were not at risk for eating disorders (54%), and reported a high influence from social media (78.7%). Statistical analysis using the Spearman rank sum test showed a positive correlation between digital media and body image (p=0.000; 0.261) and eating disorders (p=0.045; 0.138). The influence of social media can lead to body image dissatisfaction and eating disorders. Therefore, interventions such as improving social media literacy are recommended to prevent negative impacts on adolescents' mindsets and attitudes. Conclusion: Social media exposure is significantly associated with body image disturbance and eating disorders in adolescents.   Keywords: Body Image; Eating Disorders; Social Media.   Pendahuluan: Media sosial memiliki dampak negatif terhadap body image dan gangguan makan remaja, namun remaja cenderung selalu menggunakan platform ini. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mengidentifikasi strategi yang dapat mengurangi dampak buruk media sosial terhadap kesehatan mental remaja. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial terhadap body image dan gangguan makan pada remaja.    Metode: Rancangan penelitian menggunakan deskriptif korelatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel berjumlah 211 remaja kelas XI SMAN 1, SMAN 2, dan SMAN 3 di Tondano kabupaten Minahasa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Body image diukur menggunakan MBSRQ-AS, gangguan perilaku makan diukur menggunakan kuesioner EAT-26 dan pengaruh media sosial menggunakan kuesioner ASMC scale. Hasil: Mayoritas responden memiliki body image positif (85.8 %), tidak berisiko mengalami gangguan perilaku makan (54 %), dan memiliki pengaruh tinggi (78.7%) dari media sosial. Hasil analisis statistik menggunakan uji Spearman rank, diketahui bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara media digital terhadap body image (p=0.000; 0.261) dan gangguan makan (p=0.045; 0.138). Pengaruh media sosial dapat menyebabkan ketidakpuasan akan body image dan gangguan perilaku makan, sehingga direkomendasikan untuk dilakukan intervensi berupa peningkatan literasi penggunaan media sosial agar tidak menimbulkan efek negatif terhadap pola pikir dan sikap remaja. Simpulan: Paparan media sosial secara signifikan berhubungan dengan gangguan body image dan gangguan makan pada remaja.               Kata Kunci: Body Image; Gangguan Makan; Media Sosial.
