Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini difokuskan pada pendampungan edukasi keluarga yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan gadget pada anak-anak. Di Indonesia, teknologi sudah menjadi salah satu kebutuhan. Tidak hanya bagi orang dewasa, teknologi sudah merambah di kalangan anak-anak, terutama gadget. Seperti yang ketahui bahwa gadget seperti sebilah mata pisau yang memiliki dua sisi. Di satu sisi, gadget memberikan manfaat yang cukup banyak, sedangkan disisi lainnya gadget dapat memberikan dampak yang cukup bahaya bagi anak-anak, terutama yang berada diusia balita. Hal ini akan berpengaruh besar terhadap tahap perkembangan anak, terutama yang berkaitan dengan kepribadian anak. Berdasarkan gambaran permasalahan diatas, maka dapat dilihat pentingnya peran orangtua dalam perkembangan tumbuh kembang anak, terutama berkaitan dengan penggunaan gadget. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan pemahaman mengenai strategi orangtua dalam membatasi penggunaan gadget bagi anak, sehingga diperlukan edukasi keluarga mengenai permasalahan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode sosialisasi yang dilakukan secara interaktif

Abstract

The massive advances in digital technology have brought about major changes in business. Various economic activities ranging from marketing, sales, payments, to the distribution of goods have been accelerated by various digital platforms. The same acceleration also occurred in the prostitution business and its various business lines. Even though it is a business that violates moral and religious values, in fact, prostitution that uses online media is growing rapidly. Social media, such as Twitter, Whatsapp, MeChat, and OnlyFans are often used as transaction media for online commercial sex workers. The purpose of this research is to examine digital marketing strategies as well as the products and services offered in the online prostitution business. This study uses digital-based data collection techniques, by conducting online in-depth interviews, digital observations, and digital literature studies. The informants in this study were commercial sex workers and their consumers. This research is also supported by online observations and literature studies. The results of the study show that digital marketing of the online prostitution business includes: (1) utilizing websites that have been optimized for search engines, (2) utilizing social media and creating persuasive content, (3) integrating more than one online media, and (4) ) using digital advertising and e-mail services. Meanwhile, the products and services offered include: (1) audio-visual products, (2) visual products, (3) dating partners, (4) massage services, and (5) intercourse services.

Abstract

The high prevalence of early marriage in Indonesia, exacerbated by suboptimal implementation of regulations, poses significant negative psychological, health, social, and economic impacts on children. This community service activity aimed to increase the knowledge of the community in Tanjung Medang Village, Muara Enim Regency, regarding the impacts and importance of preventing early marriage. Implemented through an initial assessment, comprehensive education on the sociological perspective of early marriage impacts, and a post-intervention evaluation, the program demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge. Pre-test scores, initially at 70%, rose to 97% in the post-test, indicating the effectiveness of the socialization. This enhanced understanding is expected to form a foundation for collective efforts by the community and local government to reduce the rate of early marriage for the future well-being of children.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental stage characterized by significant physical, emotional, and psychological changes, making comprehensive knowledge about sexuality crucial to mitigate the risks of unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and other high-risk sexual behaviors. This community engagement initiative (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) aimed to educate adolescents in Bakung Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, on the dangers and consequences of risky sexual behavior. The intervention was delivered through a series of village-based lectures and educational sessions. Pre- and post-test assessments revealed a substantial improvement in participants' knowledge, with scores increasing from an average of 60% in the pre-test to 96% in the post-test. These findings underscore the effectiveness of service learning in enhancing adolescent understanding and awareness, contributing to the prevention of risky sexual practices in rural settings.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Pentagon Assets (PA), Livelihood Strategies (LS), and Sustainable Livelihood (SL) in the community of Kalampadu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The research framework is based on the Sustainable Livelihood (SL) theory proposed by Scoones (1998) and further developed by DFID (1999). This study adopts an associative research design with a quantitative approach to assess the community's level of sustainable livelihood through statistical analysis. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and literature reviews. The sampling method used was probability sampling, with a sample of 188 households selected from a total population of 354, determined using Slovin’s formula. The collected data were analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings reveal that PA has a significant influence on LS, with a path coefficient of 11.976, while LS makes a substantial contribution to SL, with a path coefficient of 5.136. These results indicate that asset ownership strongly affects livelihood strategies, which in turn supports the achievement of sustainable livelihoods. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers to develop asset-based strategies aimed at enhancing well-being through sustainable livelihood approaches. Policies should emphasize community empowerment, the adoption of green technologies, environmentally friendly skills training, and collaboration among the government, private sector, and local communities to achieve efficient and well-monitored sustainable development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang penggunaan media sosial, khususnya facebook, oleh generasi X di Desa Rengas Kecamatan Payaraman Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Sumatra Selatan. Peneliti mengeksplorasi bagaimana media sosial yang digunakan tersebut, yakni facebook, tidak hanya dijadikan sebagai alat untuk berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi tetapi juga dijadikan sebagai alat atau media untuk berekspresi melalui konten yang diposting berupa gambar, video atau tulisan, pengoptimalan pendapatan melalui facebook generasi X bisa mempromosikan barang atau jasanya ke pasar yang lebih luas serta bisa mendapatkan penghasilan lebih besar, serta sebagai ruang publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, secara spesifik dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipatif dan analisis konten dari profil facebook informan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa generasi X di Desa Rengas menggunakan facebook untuk berbagai macam tujuan yang melampaui interaksi dan komunikasi interpersonal. Facebook dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat untuk mempromosikan produk/jasa dagangannya, mendapatkan penghasilan tambahan melalui konten yang diunggah, berbagi pengalaman pribadi, mendapatkan dukungan sosial dan membangun jaringan usaha atau bisnis, serta menjadi tempat berkeluh kesah tentang masalah hidup dan keluarga yang dialami oleh generasi X tersebut yang kemudian akan mendapatkan respon baik berupa dukungan ataupun sebaliknya dari pengguna facebook lainnya. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan wawasan dan pemahaman mengenai dinamika penggunaan media sosial terutama facebook pada generasi X di wilayah pedesaan dan implikasinya terhadap perubahan sosial dan ekonomi.

Abstract

Faktor yang mempengaruhi preferensi konsumen terhadap sate ayam, sate kambing, sate payau, sate kelinci dan sate buaya serta preferensi konsumen terhadap kualitas organoleptik sate ayam, sate kambing, sate rusa (payau), sate kelinci dan sate buaya. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui preferensi konsumen terhadap sate ayam, sate kambing, sate rusa (payau), sate kelinci dan sate buaya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober hingga Desember 2017 di Kota Samarinda. data yang diambil meliputi data primer dan sekunder. Metode penentuan lokasi sampel dilakukan secara sengaja. Metode penentuan jumlah sampel dilakukan secara proporsional dan metode penentuan sampel dilakukan secara insidentil. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan skala semantik differential. Hasil penelitian menunjukan preferensi konsumen terhadap kebutuhan 13,81, manfaat dan gizi 13,75, pilihan alternatif 11,25, keputusan pembelian 11,88, perilaku setelah pembelian 11,88, faktor kebudayaan11,69, faktor sosial 11,13, pribadi 16,13 psikologi 10,57, kualitas rasa 16,81, kualitas tekstur 14,44, kualitas aroma 12,19 dan kualitas warna 11,26 Penelitian ini menunjukan preferensi konsumen tertinggi terhadap sate adalah karena kebutuhan dengan rata-rata 13,81 termasuk kategori sedang. Faktor yang mempengaruhi preferensi konsumen sate adalah faktor pribadi dengan persentase 32,57%. Preferensi konsumen sate terhadap kualitas organoleptik adalah karena rasa dengan persentase 30,74%. Abstract

The Sen Jujur tradition is a vital component of marriage rituals among the PALI community in South Sumatra, symbolizing respect, social responsibility, and the legitimization of familial bonds. However, amid the tide of modernization, these symbolic meanings have undergone a significant transformation. This study aims to explore the shifting meanings of Sen Jujur, from a cultural emblem to an instrument of social prestige and economic burden in contemporary society. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving traditional leaders, youth, and families of marriage participants. The findings reveal that Sen Jujur is no longer perceived solely as an expression of honor, but also as a marker of social status, a reflection of women's educational capital, and a site of social negotiation shaped by stratification, patrilocal kinship systems, and the logic of prestige. The study also highlights the practices of Mokon and wedding handshakes (salaman pengantin) as forms of symbolic reciprocity embedded in social exchange systems, as explained in Mauss theory of The Gift. Rather than being a static tradition, Sen Jujur emerges as a dynamic interpretive space continuously negotiated by its actors. This study contributes conceptually to understanding how local traditions adapt, commodify, and respond to social pressures in modern life, while offering a critical reflection on culturally contextualized and sustainable strategies for heritage preservation.AbstrakTradisi Sen Jujur merupakan elemen penting dalam prosesi perkawinan masyarakat Pali, Sumatera Selatan, yang mencerminkan nilai penghormatan, tanggung jawab sosial, serta legitimasi hubungan antar keluarga. Namun, di tengah dinamika modernisasi, makna simbolik tersebut mengalami transformasi signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pergeseran makna Sen Jujur dari simbol adat menuju instrumen prestise sosial dan beban ekonomi dalam masyarakat kontemporer. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif-etnografis, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap tokoh adat, generasi muda, dan keluarga pengantin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sen Jujur tidak lagi dimaknai tunggal sebagai bentuk penghormatan, tetapi juga sebagai alat afirmasi status, simbol kapitalisasi pendidikan perempuan, bahkan arena negosiasi sosial yang dipengaruhi oleh stratifikasi, sistem kekerabatan patrilokal, dan logika gengsi. Temuan juga menyoroti praktik Mokon dan salaman pengantin sebagai bagian dari sistem pertukaran sosial yang sarat makna dan kewajiban timbal balik, sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam teori The Gift (Mauss). Tradisi ini, alih-alih statis, justru menjadi ruang tafsir baru yang terus dinegosiasikan. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual dalam memahami bagaimana budaya lokal mengalami adaptasi, komodifikasi, serta tekanan struktur sosial dalam kehidupan modern, sekaligus menawarkan refleksi kritis atas strategi pelestarian adat yang lebih kontekstual dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the differences in the value of objectswhichhave the same function butithasdifferent symbols and signs. In this case, the value of signs and symbols on Apple products, namely the iPhone, generally has the same function as other smartphone products.The purpose of this study was to understand the value of the Appleproduct (iPhone) for Indralaya Faculty of Social and Political Sciences students atSriwijaya University. The method used in this research is qualitativewithacase study approach. Datacollection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, anddocumentation methods. The result of this research is that the iPhone is not only asmartphone that is used to communicate, but more than that, it is also used as apersonality. There are various kinds of economic backgrounds among iPhone userstudents, namely the lower-class economy, the middle-class economy, and theupper-class economy. iPhone user students feel that there is a difference whenusing the iPhone, such as growing self-confidence and pride and being able tosupport students; social status. The value of signs and symbols is abstract andconstructed as a whole. The sign value on the iPhone relates to the concept ofluxury, while the symbol value consists of symbols such as upper class, elegance,lifestyle, and youth.

Abstract

Konstruksi identitas sosial di era digital merupakan fenomena kompleks yang dipengaruhi oleh dinamika media sosial, teknologi komunikasi, dan interaksi virtual. Dalam konteks ini, teori One-Dimensional Man karya Herbert Marcuse dan konsep ruang publik Jürgen Habermas memberikan perspektif kritis terhadap bagaimana identitas sosial dibentuk dan dipengaruhi oleh struktur sosial dan media. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka untuk menganalisis relevansi kedua teori tersebut dalam memahami pembentukan identitas sosial di era digital. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma media sosial berkontribusi pada homogenisasi identitas, khususnya di kalangan generasi muda Indonesia, melalui penyaringan informasi dan penguatan norma-norma dominan. Marcuse menyoroti bagaimana sistem kapitalistik melalui media massa menciptakan individu yang teralienasi, sementara Habermas menunjukkan bahwa ruang publik digital saat ini tidak lagi mendukung diskusi rasional, melainkan dikendalikan oleh komersialisasi dan komunikasi satu arah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi digital tidak hanya menjadi sarana ekspresi, tetapi juga alat reproduksi struktur kekuasaan sosial yang memengaruhi pembentukan identitas individu.
