Abstract

In order to improve the quality of physical education and sports in elementary schools, lecturers of STKIP PGRI Sumenep initiated community service through the development of learning modules based on the Canva application. The background of this activity is the need for innovative and effective educational resources to support interactive learning, in accordance with technological developments and the needs of modern education. By using the Action Research method, this activity involved 5 Lecturers and 3 physical education teachers in Sumenep Regency as subjects. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. This community service approach includes intensive training and ongoing mentoring to improve teachers' abilities in designing interactive learning modules with Canva. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis to understand changes in teacher competency before and after training. The results show a significant increase in creativity and technical skills of teachers in using Canva, which has a positive impact on the effectiveness and motivation of student learning. The conclusion of this study is that the integration of technology in the development of physical learning modules can improve the quality of education and provide a more enjoyable learning experience for students.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the quality of Indonesian language teaching through collaboration among lecturers from Universitas Merdeka Malang, STKIP PGRI Sumenep, Universitas PGRI Adibuana Surabaya, and PT. Briliant Knowledge University. The program focuses on utilizing Canva technology to develop innovative teaching media, addressing the growing need for digital learning innovations. The Design-Based Research (DBR) approach facilitates collaboration between lecturers and teachers to design, implement, and evaluate new teaching methods. Teaching materials include infographics, interactive presentations, and learning videos created using Canva. Data collection methods include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. Thematic analysis identifies patterns and themes from teacher experiences. Findings reveal Canva's effectiveness in boosting student motivation and engagement, with teachers reporting improved graphic design skills, enabling them to create more compelling teaching materials. The program demonstrates that technology-based mentoring can significantly enhance junior high school teaching quality. It underscores the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and schools, improving technical skills and increasing teacher confidence in technology use. The study offers a mentoring model adaptable to various educational contexts, serving as a reference for institutions aiming to elevate teaching quality through technology. This initiative aspires to inspire collaborative educational innovations attuned to contemporary demands.

Abstract

Reading is the main foundation in literacy development because it not only enriches language skills but also broadens students' horizons. In the context of basic education, reading and writing skills are very important to shape the character and critical thinking skills of students. However, low interest in reading and limited access to information, especially in several regions in Indonesia, are still serious challenges that affect the quality of education and human resource development (UNESCO). This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. The data collection process uses a method of finding sources and constructing from various sources, for example books, articles and research that has been done. The aim is to describe the role of reading literacy in increasing children's reading interest in elementary schools. This approach was chosen because researchers wanted to understand in depth how reading literacy activities are implemented and how they impact students' reading interest.

Abstract

The story of Bawang Merah Bawang Putih is one of the popular fables in Indonesia that contains various moral values that can be applied in the formation of children's character. This study aims to analyze the moral values in the story and its application in character education in the modern era. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach to various versions of the story documented in books and digital publications. The results of the study show that this story contains the main moral values, such as honesty, hard work, patience, and justice. Bawang Putih's honesty and sincerity lead to happiness, while Bawang Merah's lies and laziness lead to punishment, illustrating that every action has consequences. Furthermore, this story also teaches the importance of perseverance and patience in facing difficulties and instills the concept of justice in life. Thus, the Bawang Merah Bawang Putih fairy tale remains relevant as a medium for character learning for the younger generation and can be used as a source of moral education in the midst of modern progress.

Abstract

This research discusses the influence of the School Literacy Program (PLS) on elementary school students' critical thinking abilities.  The results of the literature study show a positive relationship between literacy and critical thinking, where adequate literacy is the foundation for better critical thinking skills.  The success of PLS, however, is highly dependent on several key factors: relevant and interesting program design, the quality of reading materials, the active role of teachers as facilitators and role models, and access to adequate technology.  Barriers to access and relevance of reading materials are challenges that need to be overcome. A holistic and integrated approach to PLS implementation is crucial to achieving optimal results. Further research is needed to empirically test these relationships and identify more effective strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the value of character education in the folklore book “Lake Toba and Samosir Island”. Character education is an important aspect to form the next generation of an advanced and noble nation, this research uses a method, namely qualitative research methods with a literature study approach. Data sources were obtained from the folklore book “Lake Toba and Samosir Island”. The data analysis technique carried out in this study is to reread the data, and analyze the character education values in it. The results showed that there are many character education values in the folklore book “Lake Toba and Samosir Island” which is very suitable to be read by elementary school students. There are 18 values of character education as mentioned by Kemendiknas, namely: Religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love for the country, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, peace-loving, fond of reading, environmental care, social care. Based on this research, the results found in the analysis of character education values in the folklore book “Lake Toba and Samosir Island” are the values of religion, honesty,  hard work,  independence  friendly/communicative, social care, responsibility.

Abstract

Di era digital ini, pembelajaran berbasis teknologi telah menjadi elemen penting dalam pendidikan, termasuk di lingkungan pendidikan Islam. Namun, penggunaan animasi berbasis Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam proses pembelajaran masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kurangnya pemahaman tentang potensi teknologi ini dan keterbatasan infrastruktur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi peran ekosistem global dalam mengoptimalkan praktik pembelajaran animasi berbasis AI di lingkungan pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan meninjau 35 studi yang relevan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa 75% studi yang ditinjau menunjukkan bahwa animasi AI dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan pemahaman materi ajar. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi artikel ilmiah, jurnal, dan laporan penelitian. Kesimpulannya, animasi AI berpotensi menjadi perangkat yang efektif dalam pembelajaran pendidikan Islam jika didukung oleh ekosistem global yang memadai. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat mendorong integrasi teknologi AI ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam

Abstract

The digital transformation in higher education necessitates a shift from subjective, manual pedagogical evaluations toward objective, data-driven strategies, particularly in complex physical domains like aquatic skills. This study aims to develop and analyze an intelligent instructional navigation model using wearable sensor-based artificial intelligence (AI) to provide real-time biometric feedback and accelerate swimming competencies and student self-efficacy. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research integrated smartwatches and AI algorithms to monitor biometric metrics and intensity zones (Z1–Z5), providing immediate haptic scaffolding during learning sessions. The results indicate that the AI-driven model significantly enhances evaluation objectivity and motor adaptation speed compared to conventional methods, with the experimental group achieving substantially higher psychomotor scores (8.8 vs. 7.1; p < 0.01). Notably, the findings reveal that training duration without precise intensity zone management does not significantly improve performance, highlighting biometric-based scaffolding as the critical variable for instructional success. This study concludes that transforming instructional frameworks through AI-driven navigation acts as a vital catalyst for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Quality Education and Good Health, by ensuring a measurable, safe, and adaptive learning ecosystem. This model offers a scalable pedagogical framework for modernizing sports education through the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).

Abstract

Di era modern yang menuntut kemandirian aktivitas luar ruang, keterampilan teknis dalam instalasi hunian sementara dan manajemen sanitasi menjadi kompetensi krusial bagi praktisi olahraga rekreasi yang sering kali terabaikan oleh ketergantungan pada fasilitas instan. Masalah riil yang dihadapi mahasiswa PJKR sebagai mitra adalah rendahnya literasi topografi yang menyebabkan kesalahan fatal dalam pemilihan titik tenda dan pengabaian prosedur sanitasi, di mana 90% peserta sebelumnya hanya menganggap perkemahan sebagai rekreasi tanpa pemahaman risiko lingkungan. Pengabdian ini penting dilakukan untuk mentransformasi aspek kognitif dan motorik mitra melalui pendekatan saintifik yang lebih rigid dibanding pelatihan konvensional. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan akurasi instalasi tenda dome dan efektivitas manajemen sanitasi berbasis analisis variabel topografi kawasan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi hilirisasi riset, pelatihan teknis plotting koordinat, serta pendampingan praktik lapangan yang melibatkan lebih dari 100 mahasiswa PJKR dengan instrumen evaluasi berupa Integrated Logbook. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengoreksi deviasi lokasi tenda hingga toleransi ±3 meter dan kepatuhan total terhadap protokol sanitasi meskipun terdapat hambatan berupa kendala anggaran tak terduga dan area blank spot. Kesimpulan program ini menunjukkan keberlanjutan melalui standarisasi logbook sebagai SOP wajib dan pendaftaran HAKI untuk melindungi orisinalitas prosedur lapangan.
