Abstract

The risk of vertical transmission of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Syphilis from mother to child is significant. The likelihood of HIV/AIDS being transmitted vertically from mother to kid varies between 20% and 45%, for syphilis it ranges from 69% to 80%, and for Hepatitis B it surpasses 90%. Every expectant mother has triple screening for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B to reduce the risk of transmission to the newborn. As to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2019), it is obligatory for pregnant women to undergo triple elimination screening to mitigate the transmission of HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B. The research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Triple Elimination Examination in preventing the spread of sexually transmitted illnesses among pregnant women in Mojongapit Village, Jombang. This study is a retrospective cohort investigation that specifically examines mothers who had their babies in Mojongapit Village. Carry out study from June to August 2023. The study's independent variable is the triple elimination examination, whereas the dependent variable is the incidence of diseases transmitted from mother to newborn. A purposeful selection method was used to choose twenty-eight mothers who had previously given birth, and their history of triple elimination examination was observed. Performing analysis using the Spearman rank correlation approach. The research revealed that 96.2% of the 25 mothers who were not infected with sexually transmitted illnesses had triple elimination examinations in the first trimester. The Spearman Rank statistical test resulted in a p value of 0.000, demonstrating a strong correlation between the occurrence of sexually transmitted infections and the implementation of triple elimination examinations in Mojongapit Village, Jombang. The implementation of the triple elimination initiative, which includes screening, treatment, and is characterized by its cost-effectiveness and efficiency, has shown its effectiveness in avoiding the transmission of HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B from mother to child.

Abstract

Premarital and preconception care are essential components in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes. This community service aims to evaluate the importance of premarital and preconception counseling, with a focus on its role in reducing the risks associated with unplanned pregnancy, complications during pregnancy, and adverse neonatal outcomes. Although the benefits of premarital and preconception care are clear, access and awareness are still limited in Indonesia, especially among couples planning to marry. This community service was carried out through a national webinar attended by midwifery students, midwives and midwifery/health lecturers. The number of participants was 815 people. Based on the questionnaire that we gave to the midwives, only a few received preconception visits even though the implementation of premarital and preconception care can significantly improve reproductive health outcomes, reduce maternal and infant mortality, and help prospective couples plan a healthy pregnancy. The results of this activity identified barriers to accessing these services, including lack of awareness and education. The hope from this activity is that midwives can expand health education programs aimed at increasing community awareness of the benefits of premarital and preconception care in creating healthier family planning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract

One way to detect the presence of eclampsia is to do early detection using ROT and MAP. Efforts to prevent the occurrence of preeclampsia are with routine antenatal surveillance where one of them is to test the possibility of preeclampsia with conventional examinations namely blood pressure along with urine protein and ROT and MAP examination. The design of this study used a cross sectional design, where observations of independent variables and dependent variables were carried out at the same time. The population in this study was TM III pregnant women who had a book of KIA and conducted ANC examinations in September and October at the Puskesmas. Jelak Ombo Jombang is 87 respondents. Statistical test results show that there is a significant influence between the results of ROT examination with the incidence of pre-eclampsia, there is a significant effect between the results of the MAP examination with the pre-eclampsia event. Examination of ROT and MAP is documented in the KIA book. The KIA book is very effective in utilizing pre-eclampsia early detection through ROT and MAP measurements. The KIA book is a very important for pregnant women, because in the KIA book the condition of the mother is recorded during pregnancy so that information about the state of pregnancy of pregnant women is obtained. The KIA book provides an overview of the condition of the mother at each visit, can also be done early detection of eclampsia and pre-eclampsia through blood pressure and weight of pregnant women.

Abstract

Gender-based violence (GBV) during pregnancy is a global health issue that significantly impacts maternal and child health. This study aims to map research trends on GBV in maternal health using bibliometric analysis. This study utilized data from Scopus and Web of Science, analyzed using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer. Network visualization and co-occurrence analysis were conducted to identify publication patterns, keyword trends, and research interconnections.Eight main clusters were identified, including obstetric violence, pregnancy coercion, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on GBV. Research publications have increased significantly since 2018, with a major surge during the pandemic. Countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and South Africa dominate research in this field, while WHO plays a crucial role in policy interventions. The findings confirm that GBV during pregnancy is not only a health issue but also a social and global policy concern. Effective medical interventions, protective policies for pregnant women, and further research are necessary to mitigate the negative impacts of GBV on maternal and child health.

Abstract

This study explores strategic efforts to optimize hospital health services in Indonesia within the framework of the National Health Insurance (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional, JKN). Since its launch in 2014, JKN, administered by BPJS Kesehatan, has aimed to ensure equitable access to healthcare. However, implementation challenges such as limited medical infrastructure, shortages in human resources, and financial sustainability have constrained service quality in hospitals. Employing a literature review methodology, this research analyzed twelve peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025, focusing on strategic responses of hospitals to JKN demands. The review identifies five primary strategies: (1) leveraging hospital management information systems (SIMRS) to enhance operational efficiency, (2) optimizing digital tools such as the Mobile JKN application to improve patient satisfaction and service accessibility, (3) reassessing premium subsidy policies based on participants’ financial capacity to ensure budgetary efficiency, (4) strengthening service quality to build patient loyalty, and (5) addressing service gaps through human resource development, especially in empathy and communication. Findings underscore the importance of integrating technology, improving administrative and clinical workflows, and tailoring financial policies to real-world economic conditions. Additionally, continuous training and performance evaluation are recommended to align hospital operations with JKN standards. The study contributes a synthesized perspective on how Indonesian hospitals can effectively adapt to JKN, highlighting actionable strategies to improve healthcare delivery in a resource-constrained setting.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fifth globally in diabetes cases, with 19.5 million sufferers in 2021, projected to reach 28.6 million by 2045. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease with serious complications such as retinopathy, nephropathy, and cardiovascular disorders that lower quality of life. A key challenge is the low awareness of early complication signs among patients and families. This community service program, held on January 25–28, 2025, at Mojowarno Christian Hospital, aimed to improve the knowledge and empowerment of DM Club members through interactive education, simulations, and role-plays. Post-test results showed a 35% increase in knowledge, with 85% of participants able to identify complication signs. However, 15% still showed limited understanding, highlighting the need for more targeted education. This program demonstrates that structured community-based education can effectively improve diabetes literacy and management. Similar initiatives should be expanded to reduce the impact of DM complications nationwide.
