Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara volume lalu lintas (Q), kecepatan (V), dan kerapatan (D) menggunakan Metode Greenberg pada ruas Jalan KL Yos Sudarso di Kota Medan. Metode Greenberg digunakan untuk mengetahui karakteristik arus lalu lintas serta menentukan kapasitas dan tingkat kejenuhan jalan berdasarkan kondisi aktual di lapangan, sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran nyata mengenai kinerja ruas jalan tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa derajat kejenuhan (DS) mendekati kondisi jenuh, yang menandakan bahwa ruas jalan tersebut hampir mencapai kapasitas maksimum dan berpotensi mengalami kemacetan, terutama pada jam-jam sibuk. Selain itu, hasil perhitungan kapasitas menggunakan Metode Greenberg menunjukkan nilai yang tidak sesuai dengan kapasitas dasar jalan, sehingga mencerminkan adanya gangguan terhadap kinerja lalu lintas, seperti parkir liar, aktivitas pertokoan, serta hambatan samping lainnya yang memengaruhi kelancaran arus kendaraan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa Jalan KL Yos Sudarso memerlukan penerapan manajemen lalu lintas secara segera dan terencana, seperti penertiban parkir di badan jalan, pengaturan arus lalu lintas, serta peningkatan fasilitas jalan dan pengawasan. Dengan langkah-langkah tersebut, diharapkan kemacetan dapat dikurangi dan kinerja jalan dapat ditingkatkan secara berkelanjutan.   This study aims to analyze the relationship between traffic volume (Q), speed (V), and density (D) using the Greenberg Method on the KL Yos Sudarso Road section in Medan City. The Greenberg Method is used to determine traffic flow characteristics and determine road capacity and saturation levels based on actual conditions in the field, thereby providing a realistic picture of the performance of this road section. The analysis results show that the degree of saturation (DS) is approaching saturation, indicating that the road section is nearing its maximum capacity and is prone to congestion, especially during rush hours. In addition, the capacity calculation results using the Greenberg Method showed values that did not match the basic road capacity, reflecting disturbances to traffic performance, such as illegal parking, shop activities, and other side obstacles that affected the smooth flow of vehicles. These findings indicate that Jalan KL Yos Sudarso requires the immediate and planned implementation of traffic management measures, such as regulating parking on the road, managing traffic flow, and improving road facilities and surveillance. With these measures, it is hoped that congestion can be reduced and road performance can be improved in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Partnerships between universities and partner institutions are strategic for study program accreditation and for implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In 2025, Al-Azhar University established an international collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and the Village Forest Management Institution (LPHD) of Pasar Rawa, Langkat Regency, in the field of community service. The activities included a networking session, strategic discussions on converting palm oil plantations back into mangrove forests, and a joint mangrove planting action. This initiative aims to restore coastal ecosystems as habitats for marine life, such as fish, crabs, and shrimp. Through this synergy, it is expected that the motivation of the Pasar Rawa Village community, particularly the LPHD, will increase in managing and preserving the mangrove area sustainably for the welfare of the coastal ecosystem.

Abstract

Training in making dish soap is a community service activity that aims to improve children's skills. This activity was carried out at the Muhammadiyah Putra Orphanage, Medan City, with the target of adolescent foster children. The methods used include counseling, direct practice in making dish soap, and discussion and evaluation of the results of the activities. The training materials include introductions to raw materials, the mixing process, and packaging techniques. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to understand and independently practice the process of making dish soap. In addition, participants gained basic knowledge of business opportunities in the household product industry. This activity has a positive impact on life skills and on fostering entrepreneurial motivation among foster children. Training in making dish soap is expected to be a sustainable skill provision and has the potential to be developed as an independent business in the orphanage environment.
