Abstract

This community service activity aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit based on socio-technopreneurship among students of SMAN 3 Unggul Sigli, Pidie Regency, Aceh. The main issue addressed is the low interest and ability of students in entrepreneurship, primarily due to limited exposure to practical and technology-relevant entrepreneurship education. Using the Service Learning (SL) approach, the activity was conducted in the form of a workshop consisting of three main sessions: material presentation, business plan preparation practice, and presentation of results. The participants included 50 students guided by a team from the Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Syiah Kuala and the Pusat Riset Komunikasi Pemasaran, Pariwisata, dan Ekonomi Kreatif Universitas Syiah Kuala. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of socio-technopreneurship (from 60% to 85%) and their interest in entrepreneurship (75%). Additionally, 60% of the participant groups successfully developed innovative business plans. This activity contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in creating decent work and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Public speaking is an essential skill in many sectors, including business and financial services. Effective public speaking involves not only speaking ability, but also clarity of information delivery and the ability to motivate the audience. Members of the Pawnshop Employees Wives Association (IIKP) have a strategic role in disseminating information related to pawnshop products and services. However, there is a gap in public speaking skills and product understanding among IIKP members. Therefore, a training program was held that focused on improving public speaking skills, understanding product knowledge, and applying creative marketing strategies. The training used the service learning (SL) method, involved 30 participants with various educational backgrounds, and focused on hands-on practice and application of innovative marketing strategies. The results showed significant improvement in public speaking skills and pawnshop product understanding with higher post-test scores than pre-test. The main challenges encountered included different levels of understanding among participants and limited technological knowledge. The positive impacts of this activity include increased competence of IIKP members in delivering product information with more confidence, as well as the potential to implement more creative and effective marketing strategies. This activity made a significant contribution to women's empowerment and sustainable communication and marketing capacity building

Through a literature study methodology, the research delves into integrating Islamic values into academic curricula, establishing business incubators, providing seed capital, organizing Sharia-the-centric competitions, recognizing entrepreneurs' real achievements, and forming Muslim entrepreneur communities on campus. Entrepreneurs have found these strategies pivotal in cultivating a robust entrepreneurial spirit aligned with Islamic principles, contributing to individual student growth and broader economic and ethical development within the Muslim community. The study concludes with recommendations for universities and proposes avenues for advanced research to enrich this emerging field.
