Abstract

This community service carries the theme of entrepreneurship and cultural collaboration, which aims to improve the quality of universities. Universities act as centers of academic learning and as agents of positive transformation and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among their students. This activity was carried out by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala, in collaboration with the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Using Service Learning (SL) and Partnership/Collaboration methods, this program combines entrepreneurship and cultural collaboration, providing a holistic approach to university engagement. Entrepreneurship education has gained significant recognition as a catalyst for innovation, economic growth, and job creation. Cultural collaboration, in parallel, underscores the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural diversity while fostering cross-cultural understanding, which in this program is carried out by rebranding the university in particular and Aceh in general. As the university grows, its commitment to community service remains a cornerstone of its mission to create a better, more inclusive, and culturally enriched society. Future initiatives could explore deeper aspects, such as innovation and sustainable collaboration strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of digital marketing, service quality, and product excellence on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. Focusing on Bank Aceh Syariah (BAS) in Aceh Province, Indonesia, this research uses a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach and reveals that both service quality and digital marketing significantly enhance customer satisfaction at BAS, while product excellence does not exhibit a similar influence. Further analysis demonstrates that customer satisfaction positively impacts customer loyalty. Interestingly, digital marketing, service quality, and product excellence do not directly affect customer loyalty; however, customer satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty. These findings underscore the critical importance of digital marketing and service quality in fostering customer satisfaction and promoting customer loyalty. For banks aiming to enhance loyalty, the study highlights the necessity of robust digital marketing strategies and superior service quality. While product excellence is important for meeting customer needs, it appears less significant in driving satisfaction and loyalty compared to service quality and digital marketing. By prioritizing these areas, BAS can achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction, leading to sustained customer loyalty.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to evaluate the impact of the conversion and merger of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) after the implementation of the Qanun that requires all financial institutions in Aceh to switch to sharia. The sample consisted of 300 Muslim and non-Muslim customers. Using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the study analyzed changes in customer behavior in response to the regulation. The findings show that the conversion initially decreased customers' attitudes and subjective norms towards using BSI products, but increased post-merger. There is a difference between Muslim and non-Muslim customers' attitudes; non-Muslim customers support BSI products despite unfavorable subjective norms, while Muslim customers only show subjective norms without significant attitudes towards usage intention. These findings provide insights for IB service providers to design innovative services that accommodate different consumer attitudes and ensure comprehensive application of Islamic principles.

Abstract

Financial technology (fintech) has rapidly transformed the financial sector, yet many Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) still lack adequate financial literacy, limiting students' access to digital financial services. This community service program aims to enhance fintech literacy among pesantren students by introducing Shariah-compliant financial technologies and their applications in daily financial management. The method used is service learning, combining theoretical education and hands-on practice through interactive workshops and fintech application simulations. The results indicate a significant improvement in students understanding of digital financial services, including the use of Islamic e-wallets, peer-to-peer lending, and crowdfunding platforms. However, challenges such as limited digital infrastructure and misconceptions about fintech remain. This initiative highlights the importance of continuous fintech education in pesantren to prepare students for the digital economy while ensuring compliance with Islamic financial principles. Strengthening digital access and regulatory support will be crucial for sustaining fintech literacy in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the management control systems of print entrepreneurs around Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The main issue was the lack of understanding and implementation of effective control systems, leading to operational inefficiencies. Using a Service Learning approach, 10 entrepreneurs participated in training led by experts from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and USK. The training covered management control concepts and introduced basic technology tools to support business operations. Results showed a 25% increase in participants' understanding of management control systems and an 85% adoption rate of the techniques and technologies introduced. These improvements contributed to better business efficiency and align with Sustainable Development Goal 8, which emphasizes decent work and economic growth. This activity demonstrated that tailored training programs can significantly enhance small business operations and can be replicated for broader impact.

Abstract

Linflow water meter is a smart technology-based water consumption meter designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in water resource management, both in the household, commercial, and industrial sectors. To protect the sensitive components inside and ensure the durability of the tool in a wide range of environmental conditions, a reliable case design is required. This study aims to design and analyze the linflow water meter casing by considering the aspects of pressure resistance, protection against moisture and temperature, as well as conducting static and thermal analysis to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of the water meter, ensuring that it meets industry standards for efficiency and durability. The methodology used includes the selection of materials that are resistant to stress and corrosion, the design of ergonomic casing structures, and durability simulations using the finite element analysis (FEA) method. The results of the analysis show that the high-quality polymer material with the addition of an anti-corrosion coating provides optimal protection for the operational environment. In addition, the modular design of the case makes it easy to install and maintain without affecting the integrity of the device. These findings are expected to improve the design process and operational reliability of water meters, thereby supporting effective drainage management and infrastructure protection.
