Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of literacy and functional literacy among marginalized children through the activities of the Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli (SASUDE) community in Medan City, Indonesia. Marginalized children living along the Deli River face limited access to formal education, poor economic conditions, and low literacy skills. Through a non-formal education approach, SASUDE serves as an alternative learning space that integrates basic literacy, character development, and environmental awareness. This research employs a qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that SASUDE plays a crucial role in improving children’s reading, writing, and functional literacy skills through creative activities, contextual learning, and personal mentoring. The main supporting factors are the dedication of volunteers and community involvement, while challenges include limited learning facilities and an unconducive environment. In conclusion, SASUDE not only enhances literacy among marginalized children but also functions as a social empowerment platform that fosters confidence, independence, and environmental awareness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pelatihan teknologi yang dapat meningkatkan kompetensi tenaga pendidik Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) di SPNF SKB Kota Medan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan mendesak untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak usia dini melalui pengembangan keterampilan tenaga pendidik yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Dalam era digital saat ini, kemampuan untuk menggunakan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran menjadi sangat penting. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dilakukan secara sistematis untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pelatihan dan mengevaluasi efektivitas model pelatihan yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pelatihan yang dirancang tidak hanya berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi teknis tenaga pendidik, tetapi juga mendorong mereka untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam mengimplementasikan teknologi dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dari temuan ini, disarankan agar pihak terkait, terutama lembaga pendidikan dan pemerintah daerah, memberikan perhatian lebih pada pengembangan program pelatihan berkelanjutan yang berfokus pada teknologi pendidikan. Dengan demikian, diharapkan kualitas pendidikan anak usia dini dapat meningkat secara signifikan, yang pada gilirannya akan memberikan dampak positif bagi perkembangan generasi masa depan.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a problem that many students experience and has an impact on declining learning quality, increased stress, and low academic achievement. One of the internal factors that is strongly suspected to influence this behavior is self-efficacy anxiety, which is a condition when students doubt their ability to complete assignments, thus encouraging procrastination behavior. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy anxiety on academic procrastination behavior in students. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a survey design of 34 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using two Likert scales, namely the Anxiety Scale for Self-Disability and the Academic Procrastination Scale, and then analyzed through normality, correlation, and regression tests. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and there was a strong relationship between the two variables (R = 0.746). In addition, a significance value of 0.000 and a calculated t value greater than the t table showed that self-efficacy anxiety had a significant effect on academic procrastination behavior. This means that the higher the student's anxiety about their abilities, the higher their tendency to postpone academic assignments. This study concludes that anxiety about self-incompetence is an important psychological factor that needs to be considered in efforts to develop intervention programs to reduce academic procrastination in students.
