Abstract

Research has been conducted at the Chemistry Education Laboratory on the determination of reduced sugar levels in sugarcane (Saccharum Officinarum) originating from Nimbokrang, Jayapura Regency through an iodometric titration process. The purpose of this study is to determine the reduced sugar content in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) originating from Nimbokrang, Jayapura Regency. By knowing the reduced sugar content in sugarcane, people can process sugarcane not only as yard plants, but can be used as more effective plants. This research is experimental by describing the data of research results and literature studies. Sugarcane juice samples were then analyzed using the Luff-Schoorl method. The results of the analysis obtained the reduced sugar content in sugarcane from Nimbokrang, Jayapura Regency, which was 21.8817 g in 100 grams (21.8817 %) of sugarcane water. With a fairly high reduced sugar content, sugarcane juice can be used as a complement to alternative energy sources.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kegiatan kewirausahaan banyak dilakukan memanfaatkan kerumunan masa yang begitu banyak untuk berolahraga. Segala macam usaha banyak dipasarkan dan rata-rata dibidang barang atau produk. Barang yang dijual juga kebanyakan tidak ada kaitannya dengan olahraga. Makanan dan minuman menjadi usaha yang banyak dijalankan saat car free day. Masyarakat belum memanfaatkan penjualan barang – barang olahraga ataupun jasa dibidang olahraga. Sehingga perlu dilaksanakan penguatan kewirausahaan olahraga pada masyarakat jayapura. Kegiatan ini merupakan sosialisasi pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan usaha dibidang olahraga. Membantu masyarakat untuk melihat peluang linear yang bisa dimanfaatkan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metode sosialiasi aplikatif yaotu upaya memberikan pemahaman melalui kegiatan diskusi umum untuk melihat dan memutuskan sektor wirausaha olahraga apa yang bisa dimanfaatkan.  Kegiatan yang melibatkan akademi dan praktisi yaitu pengusaha muda ini dibuatkan diskusi publik yang penontonya dapat terlibat langsung untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan ataupun pengalaman dalam dunia usaha. Pendekatan yang dipilih adalah memberikan materi, praktik dan pendampingan untuk mengembangkan ide usaha peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini 80% peserta mengalami penguatan pengetahuan terkait kewirausahaan olahraga

Abstract

This study aims to analyze water quality and heavy metal lead (Pb) content in the waters of Class II Port of Jayapura, Papua. Increased port and industrial activities in coastal areas can contribute to environmental pollution, including heavy metal contamination that impacts marine ecosystems and the health of coastal communities. This research employed a descriptive method with water sampling at 2 stations, each consisting of 3 sub-stations using purposive sampling technique. Seawater samples were analyzed at the Chemistry Education Laboratory of Cenderawasih University using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Water quality parameters measured included temperature, pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), transparency, and salinity. The results showed that water quality parameters were within safe ranges according to quality standards, with temperature ranging from 30.2-32.5°C, pH 6.54-7.60, DO 5.45-8.55 mg/l, transparency 3.20-3.57 meters, and salinity 30-34. However, the heavy metal lead (Pb) content in seawater ranged from 0.115-0.141 mg/l, which exceeded the established quality standard limit of 0.05 mg/l based on Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 and Minister of Environment Decree Number 51 of 2004. This research indicates that port activities such as loading and unloading of goods, ship washing, fuel usage, fuel spillage, and use of ship coating paint can affect the level of lead in the waters. Special attention and strict supervision of port activities are required to minimize heavy metal pollution in the waters of Jayapura Port.
