Abstract

Digitalization of Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) governance is an urgent need to address the challenges of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in village economic management. The Sumber Kamulyan BUMDes, which manages the Umbul Pelem tourist destination in Wunut Village, still faces obstacles in manual administrative records, the lack of an integrated data management system, and a suboptimal digital branding strategy. This study aims to develop the Wunut BUMDes Information System (SIBUMDes Wunut) as an effort to modernize administrative governance while strengthening the digital branding of the tourism village. The method used is Business Model Canvas analysis to formulate institutional and business strategies, and the application of the Waterfall Model in the system development process, which includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. System testing was conducted using blackbox testing to ensure functional suitability. The results show that all key features, such as tourist data management, financial transaction recording, statistical report preparation, and social media content management, can function properly. These findings confirm that SIBUMDes Wunut not only improves administrative order but also serves as a sustainable digital promotion instrument. Thus, this system is declared feasible to be implemented and has the potential to be replicated by other villages as a model for BUMDes digitalization in order to encourage local economic independence.

Abstract

Purposes: The research examines the importance, accountability, and transparency of professional zakat management within State Higher Education (SHEs) in Semarang. Methods: This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach to analyze the accountability of professional zakat management in state higher education institutions in Semarang, using interviews, document analysis, and the Islamic Accountability Framework emphasizing Sharia compliance, transparency, effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement. Findings: It emphasizes the need for professional management to adhere to regulatory and institutional standards. In Semarang, UPZ UNDIP and UPZ UIN are registered with UPZ BAZNAS and comply with governance regulations. Their accountability aligns with BAZNAS standards, ensuring procedural compliance and responsive public services. However, these institutions do not fully implement PSAK 109 zakat accounting standards in their financial reporting, indicating a need for a Sharia Auditor to maintain accountability quality. Transparency remains a challenge as these institutions fail to disclose complete information. Adequate transparency establishes a perception of competence, honesty, and confidence in UPZs. The study suggests utilizing innovative digital technology to present precise information and meet the demands of the disruption era 4.0, ensuring the public can access comprehensive and transparent data. Novelty: This research bridges a novelty by focusing on professional zakat management accountability within state higher education institutions in Semarang. This focus on professionalism and the specific context can provide valuable insights for improved practices.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) have the potential to strengthen local economic competitiveness but often face challenges in governance and digital marketing. This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of BUMDes Sumber Kamulyan in Wunut Village through the implementation of SIBUMDes Wunut, a website-based information system designed as an appropriate digital tool. The activities were carried out in five stages: initial governance and marketing management, intensive training for 30 participants consisting of village officials, BUMDes managers, women’s groups, and youth organizations, technology implementation, mentoring and evaluation, and sustainability planning. Evaluation using the Total Criteria of Response method indicated an average score of 86.75 percent, categorized as very good. The results showed improvements in management, including digital standard operating procedures and transparent financial recording, and in marketing, particularly through social media content development and tourism branding of Umbul Pelem. Sustainability is supported by the formation of an internal digital management team and partnerships with local stakeholders. In conclusion, SIBUMDes Wunut as a website-based system effectively improves governance, strengthens digital marketing strategies, and enhances the competitiveness of rural enterprises.
