Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the use of graphic organizer techniques in teaching students to write in recount texts, the extent to which students' writing skills in recount texts before and after using graphic organizer techniques, and to determine whether there is a significant effect between graphic organizer techniques on writing skills. students in the recount text at class X SMA Negeri 1 Manduamas. This research was conducted using an experimental method (pretest posttest one group design) with a sample of 26 students and taken by purposive sampling technique from 2 classes as the population. Tests and questionnaires were used in data collection. Based on data analysis, it can be seen that the average use of the graphic organizer technique in students' learning to write in recount text is 79 with the "good" category, and the average score of students in writing recount text before and after using the graphic organizer technique in class X SMA Negeri 1 Manduamas is 46 categorized as "enough". Furthermore, based on inferential statistics using the author's test found the test is smaller than t table (19.34 > 2.06). That is, there is a significant effect of using graphic organizer techniques on students' writing skills in recount texts in class X SMA Negeri 1 Manduamas.

Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of using local wisdom based learning model on students’ writing narrative text ability at the fourth semester students of English Education Program in Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan. The research type is quantitative with experimental method. The researcher collected the data by using composition writing test. The sample was taken by using total sampling technique, it was 25 students. The data were then analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis, it was t-test formula by Arikunto. The results of the research are the mean score of students’ writing ability before using local wisdom based learning model was 53.54 which categorized bad, then after using local wisdom based learning model was 82.50 which categorized good. The hypothesis testing showed that t-test was higher than t-table, it means that the hypothesis is accepted. The finding of research reveals that there is a significant effect of local wisdom based learning model on students’ writing narrative text ability at the fourth semester students of English Education Program in Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan.

Abstract

This study investigates the metaphor of modality in Mata Najwa Talk Show on Metro TV based on SLF approach. The objectives of this study are to identify the orientation of modality used in Mata Najwa Talk Show, to describe the orientation of metaphor of modality are used, and to explain the context of situation those metaphor of modality are used. The research design used is descriptive qualitative. The data were taken from three episodes in Mata Najwa talk show about KPK. The data were collected by downloading the video of Mata Najwa talk show from the internet. The finding shows that from four types of orientation of modality, the dominant orientation used in Mata Najwa Talk Show is objective implicit. It means that the speakers use congruent form of modality dominantly while expressing their judgment and attitude. The use of metaphor of modality in Mata Najwa Talk Show realized by the use of incongruent types of expressing meaning, that is by using projecting clause, nominalization and using preposition. Abstract

Di era globalisasi saat ini semua orang membutuhkan hidup sehat,penghasilan yang cukup. Karna,semakin berkembangnya zaman, semakin banyak kebutuhan yang harus dicukupi. akan tetapi pada saat ini semua merasa kesulitan untuk mendapatkan uang dengan cara mudah, dantidak semua orang bisa mendapatkan pekerjaan,banyak orang yang tidak tahu bangaiman menghasilkan cuan dengan mudah dan sebagian orang kesulitan untuk berpikir bagaimana caranya mendapatkan cuan dengan mudah,akan tetapi mereka hanya berpikir hal yang biasa saja tidak akan bias menjadi cuan yang luar biasa, maka dari itu kami mengajari masyarakat dan mahasiswa bagaimana mengelola yang biasa saja menjadi hal yang luar biasa. Tak juga itu dalam mengelola buah pepaya bias saja banyak menghsilkan cuan,vitamin yang banyak,dan modal yang tidak banyak akan tetapi bisa mngehasilkan untung yang banyak.selain itu bisa juga bermanfaat untuk mahasiswa dan masyarakat agar bisa menghasilkan cuan dengan mudah . Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model Numbered Head Together pada tema 7 subtema 1 Keragaman Suku Bangsa dan Agama di Negeriku bagi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 100308 Panompuan. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 34 siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui lembar soal tes dan lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru.Hasil belajar siswa diukur melalui tes yang dilaksanakan pada setiap akhir siklus. Hasil ketuntasan hasil belajar di siklus I adalah 19 siswa (55,8%) sudah mencapai KKM dan 15 siswa (44, 2%) yang belum mencapai KKM. Siklus II meningkat menjadi 28 siswa (82,3%) sudah mencapai KKM dan 6 siswa (17,7%) belum mencapai KKM. Peningkatan hasil belajar mencapai 26,5%. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, peningkatan aktivitas siswa mencapai 22,2% dan peningkatan aktivitas guru mencapai 10%. Hal tersebut dapat membuktikan bahwa dengan menggunakan model Numbered Head Together dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada tema 7 subtema 1 dikelas IV SD Negeri 100308 Panompuan. Kata-kata kunci: Hasil Belajar, Model, Numbered Head Together. Abstarct This study aims to improve student achievement by applying Numbered Head Together model on the theme of 7 sub-themes 1 “Keragaman Suku Bangsa dan Agama di Negeriku” at fourth grade students’ of SD Negeri 100308 Panompuan. The research subjects are 34 students’. The type of research used classroom action research. The technique of collecting data are test question sheets and students’ and teacher activity observation sheets. Students’ achievement are measured through tests carried out at the end of each cycle. The results of the research showed students’ achievement at the first cycle are 19 students’ (55.8%) who have reached the KKM and 15 students’ (44.2%) who have not reached the KKM. The second cycle increased to 28 students’ (82.3%) have reached the KKM and 6 students’ (17.7%) have not reached the KKM. The increase in achievement reached 26.5%. Based on observations, the increase in students’ activity reached 22.2% and the increase in teacher activity reached 10%. This resule can prove that applying Numbered Head Together model can improve students’ achievement on theme 7 sub-theme 1 “Keragaman Suku Bangsa dan Agama di Negeriku” at fourth grade students’ of SD Negeri 100308 Panompuan. Abstract

Literasi, numerasi, dan karakter anak bangsa merupakan dasar penting untuk kecakapan hidup di abad ke-21 dan merupakan indikator kemajuan suatu bangsa, sehingga harus mendapatkan perhatian yang serius. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah anak-anak usia SD di Desa Rimba Soping yang menunjukkan kemampuan literasi, numerasi yang masih rendah dan perlu penguatan karakter. Penguatan literasi, numerasi dan karakter anak dilakukan dengan pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dalam Program HIPERTALA (Hidupkan Permainan Tradisional Angkola) bagi anak-anak usia SD di Desa Rimba Soping. Permainan tradisional Angkola seperti marsimbak, markuling-kuling acca, markalas-kalas, marjambatan Tapanuli, adong ma sada carito merangsang anak-anak untuk membangun komunikasi satu sama lain, menceritakan apa yang ia pikirkan, berhitung dan sebagainya yang merupakan kemampuan dasar literasi dan numerasi yang sangat dibutuhkan. Dan melalui permainan tradisional tersebut, karakter kerjasama, jujur, cinta budaya, bersahabat, komunikatif, peduli, disiplin, tertib ditanamkan dan dikuatkan. Dengan HIPERTALA literasi, numerasi dan karakter anak mengalami perubahan positif sekaligus melestarikan permainan tradisional Angkola. Abstract

Students’ vocabulary mastery is the problem in this research. One of the factor caused the problem is teaching strategy used in teaching vocabulary. This research has purposes to find out: 1) How mingle game implemented in teaching vocabulary, 2) Students’ vocabulary mastery before and after taught by Mingle Game, 3) a significant effect on vocabulary mastery by implementing Mingle Game. The research method was quantitative. The population was 62 students then sample was 31 students who was taken by systematic sampling technique. Observation sheet and test were used as the instruments of this research. The result of research got the implementation of mingle game is very good. Students’ vocabulary before taught by mingle game was fail, and after taught by mingle game was enough. Then, hypothesis testing showed that ttest was higher than ttable , so it clearly determines a significant effect on vocabulary mastery by implementing mingle game.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to outline how character education is impacted by the marsiurupan tradition’s local wisdom values in the Angkola marriage rite. Oral tradition known as marsiurupan is practiced in two contexts: happiness (siriaon) and sadness (siluluton). The marriage ceremony is a happy occasion for the Angkola people. Activities in the marsiurupan tradition during the wedding ceremony have principles derived from indigenous wisdom that aid in character development. A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted in this study. Participant observation is used to gather data, which is subsequently examined via qualitative data analysis. Based on the research, the findings indicate that the activities carried out, beginning with marpege-pege, pajongjong los, mamasu dahanon, mangkubak sibodak, and mardangdang, reflect the numerous local wisdom values found in the marsiurupan tradition.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the integration of ICT on students’ speaking learning by the use of the Yoodli AI. The research was conducted by using mixed method explanatory sequential design with 12 students as the sample taken by total sampling. Questionnaire and test were using in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was seen that Yoodli AI helped students in speaking. The mean score of students speaking skill before using Yoodli AI was 64.4 categorized "fail" and after 84.8 categorized “very good”. Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using Liliefors Test, the result shows the L-count >L-table. It means, it means there is a significant effect of the using Yoodli AI on students’ speaking skill at the second semester students of Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan salah satu bentuk peningkatan kemampuan literasi dengan menambah kosa kata baru, mendengarkan dan menumbuhkan minat baca anak-anak Desa Paran Dolok Mardomu. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan memperkenalkan strategi menarik untuk meningkatkan literasi anak. Strategi read aloud adalah strategi membacakan buku cerita secara nyaring pada anak-anak untuk menarik perhatian mereka. Read aloud dilakukan dengan memperlihatkan gambar dan ada tanya jawab serta melakukan ice breaking di awal dan akhir kegiatan. Pengabdian ini lahir dari adanya masalah yang ditemukan yaitu rendahnya minat anak-anak dalam membaca, karena lingkungan yang kurang mendukung seperti kurangnya peran perpustakaan, ketidaktersediaan buku atau bahan bacaan dan lainnya. Read Aloud membantu anak menambah kosa kata, terutama kosa kata bahasa buku yang dipergunakan untuk membaca. Reading aloud atau membaca nyaring merupakan metode membaca suatu teks dengan keras yang dapat membantu memfokuskan perhatian secara mental, menimbulkan pertanyaan-pertanyaan dan merancang diskusi. Metode ini mempunyai efek pada memusatkan perhatian dan membuat kelompok yang kohesif. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini dilakukan adalah untuk meningkatkan dan menumbuhkan minat literasi anak-anak di Desa Paran Dolok Mardomu. Adapun hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan implementasi literasi yang baik
