Abstract

The role of counselors is important in supporting student development, especially considering the low hardiness character of junior high school students. The counselor's professionalism in providing comprehensive counseling services is decisive in handling students' hardiness character. One of counseling approach which can improve students' hardiness character is reality counseling. Therefore, the community service team conducted reality counseling training as an effort to improve students' hardiness character at MGBK SMP in Semarang City. The method of implementing uses three stages consisting of participant identification, training implementation, and evaluation. The service activities were carried out for two days with 35 participants from junior high school counselors in Semarang City. The first day's activities focused on increasing participants' knowledge with material presentation by the community service team related to the topic of counselor responsive competencies in the VUCA Era, hardiness character and mind-skills, and reality approach counseling. The second day involved simulation and supervised practice, followed by a reflection and evaluation session. The results of the paired samples t-test showed a significant differences between the average pre-test and post-test scores with a value of Sig. 2-tailed=0.000 (<0.01). It means that there is an effect of training implementation on the counselor's ability to use reality counseling. This is supported by, positive evaluation that shows satisfaction of the trainees during the service activities. Trainees can implement reality counseling in their respective schools to improve the hardiness character of junior high school students

Abstract

In the current era, it is very important to pay attention to emotional regulation, where in the current era of technological advances, emotional regulation is at a low level, especially in junior high school students. Guidance and counseling services are services that are expected to improve students' emotional regulation with various forms of services, while group counseling services using the mindfulness based therapy method are still rarely carried out in schools. Therefore, the service team intends to help by providing group counseling training using the mindfulness based therapy method to increase the skills of guidance and counseling teachers, especially in overcoming students' low emotional regulation. There were 40 guidance and counseling teachers who took part in this training and there were only 11 guidance and counseling teachers who were able to show that this training was successful, of which 11 teachers had training results in the very high category. Furthermore, there are 2 in the high category, 26 in the moderate category and 1 low.

Abstract

Subjective well-being supports the learning quality which later helps students increase their potential. Therefore, the present study aimed at examining the effectiveness of face to face and internet-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy group counseling to enhance subjective well-being. It used a randomized pretest posttest comparison group design with two experimental groups and involved 12 students selected using the purposive sampling technique from 155 total population of the grade twelve at SMA Negeri 8 Semarang whose subjective well-being were low. Of the analysis, it was found that both face to face and internet-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy group counseling was effective to enhance the subjective well-being of students at SMA Negeri 8 Semarang.

Abstract

Background: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada subjective well-being ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena tingginya tekanan psikologis yang dialami siswa akibat tuntutan akademik, masalah pribadi, maupun hubungan social serta kurangnya keterampilan yang memadai untuk mengelola emosi diri. Siswa. Pelatihan ini menggunakan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy yang dilaksanakan di SMP Plus Al Amanah Bojonegoro yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Subjective well-being siswa. Metode: Metode yang digunakan yaitu Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan tujuan mengatasi masalah dengan pembelajaran dan praktik. Hasil: Peserta menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi, aktif berpartisipasi, dan memperoleh wawasan baru tentang konseling kelompok Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak yang positif dan signifikan diperoleh hasil uji Paired T-test menunjukkan angka yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dengan posttest dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) p = 0.000 < 0.05 artinya membuktikan bahwa pelatihan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy efektif untuk meningkatkan Subjective well-being siswa di SMP Plus Al Amanah Bojonegoro.

Abstract

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is increasingly in demand for research and has shown effectiveness in improving psychological aspects in various fields. Thus, further studies are needed to see the MSC implementation protocol so that it can be applied effectively. This research focuses on the effectiveness of MSC in increasing self-compassion, mindfulness, life satisfaction, and reducing anxiety and stress. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with search sources from Springer, Sagepub, Sciencedirect, and Wiley in the period 2019-2024. The selection process produced 8 articles based on predetermined inclusion criteria, namely articles that used mindful self-compassion interventions and used RCT experimental studies and quasi-experimental studies. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria were articles that did not use MSC intervention as the main component and were not related to psychological and behavioral outcomes. The article search process is explained in the PRISMA Flow Diagram. MSC has been shown to be beneficial in the context of mental health in a variety of populations, including teachers, adolescents, caregivers of schizophrenia patients, women undergoing infertility treatment, young women, nursing students, and mothers of children with Phenylketonuria (PKU). Nevertheless, some studies show that the effects of MSCs do not always persist in the long term, indicating the need for further studies with longer follow-up periods. In conclusion, MSC is an effective intervention to improve psychological well-being, but further testing is needed to evaluate its long-term effects and optimize its application in various contexts. Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) semakin diminati untuk diteliti dan telah menunjukkan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan aspek psikologis di berbagai bidang. Dengan demikian, diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk melihat protokol penerapan MSC agar dapat diaplikasikan secara efektif. Penelitian ini berfokus pada efektivitas MSC dalam meningkatkan self-compassion, mindfulness, kepuasan hidup, serta menurunkan kecemasan dan stres. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan sumber pencarian dari Springer, Sagepub, Sciencedirect, dan Wiley dalam kurun waktu 2019-2024. Proses seleksi menghasilkan 8 artikel berdasarkan kriteria inklusi yang telah ditentukan, yaitu artikel yang menggunakan intervensi mindful self-compassion dan menggunakan studi eksperimen RCT serta studi quasi eksperimen. Sedangkan kriteria eksklusi adalah artikel yang tidak menggunakan intervensi MSC sebagai komponen utama dan tidak terkait dengan luaran psikologis dan perilaku. Proses pencarian artikel dijelaskan dalam Diagram Alir PRISMA. MSC telah terbukti bermanfaat dalam konteks kesehatan mental pada berbagai populasi, termasuk guru, remaja, pengasuh pasien skizofrenia, wanita yang menjalani perawatan infertilitas, wanita muda, mahasiswa keperawatan, dan ibu dari anak-anak dengan Fenilketonuria (PKU). Meskipun demikian, beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek MSC tidak selalu bertahan dalam jangka panjang, yang menunjukkan perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut dengan periode tindak lanjut yang lebih lama. Sebagai kesimpulan, MSC merupakan intervensi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis, tetapi pengujian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi efek jangka panjangnya dan mengoptimalkan penerapannya dalam berbagai konteks.

Abstract

Mahasiswa di era digital menghadapi tantangan emosional yang kompleks, mulai dari tekanan akademik, multitasking, kecemasan masa depan, hingga kelelahan mental. Untuk merespons kebutuhan ini, pendekatan Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) ditawarkan sebagai strategi psikoedukatif yang berfokus pada penguatan kesadaran diri dan penerimaan tanpa penghakiman. MSC mengintegrasikan mindfulness (kesadaran penuh) dan self-compassion (belas kasih diri) melalui tiga pilar utama: self-kindness, common humanity, dan mindfulness. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkenalkan konsep dasar MSC dan memberikan pelatihan praktis kepada mahasiswa Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling Pendidikan Islam (BKPI) IAIN Curup. Workshop dilaksanakan secara hybrid pada 7 September 2024 dan diikuti oleh 50 mahasiswa. Materi disampaikan oleh tiga narasumber dengan fokus pada pengenalan kebiasaan negatif seperti self-judgment dan over-identification, serta latihan praktis seperti self-compassion break, teknik "STOP", afirmasi positif, dan eksplorasi self-compassion melalui tulisan. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta mengalami peningkatan kesadaran terhadap kondisi batin sendiri, serta motivasi untuk bersikap lebih lembut dan manusiawi terhadap diri. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan MSC dalam format singkat dapat menjadi alternatif intervensi promotif dalam meningkatkan kesehatan mental mahasiswa.
