Abstract

This study investigates the role of sustainability leadership in shaping strategic management practices and their combined impact on achieving sustainable competitive advantage. Using a quantitative design with data from 230 managers and sustainability practitioners in Indonesia, the research employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationships among Sustainability Leadership (SL), Strategic Management (SM), and Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA). The findings reveal that SL has a significant positive effect on SM (β = 0.768, p < 0.001), and SM has a strong effect on SCA (β = 0.542, p < 0.001), confirming SM’s mediating role in the SL–SCA relationship. These results underscore that sustainability-oriented leadership enhances organizational innovation, stakeholder engagement, and adaptability through structured strategic mechanisms. The study contributes theoretically by integrating the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Natural Resource-Based View (NRBV) frameworks, demonstrating that leadership and strategy function as dynamic capabilities that reconfigure internal competencies for superior sustainable performance. Practically, the results suggest that organizations embedding ethical, visionary, and transformational leadership into strategic processes are more capable of achieving long-term competitiveness in the era of the green economy and digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work ethic on employee performance by including innovative work behavior as a mediating variable and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as a moderating variable. The study was conducted on Civil Servants at the Batu City Agriculture and Food Security Office using a quantitative explanatory approach. The entire population of 83 employees was used as respondents through a saturated sampling technique, so this study is expected to be able to describe the empirical conditions comprehensively. Quantitative data were collected through distributing questionnaires compiled based on research variable indicators and then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS software version 4. The results of the analysis indicate that work ethic has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. In addition, work ethic is also proven to have a positive and significant influence on innovative work behavior. Further findings indicate that innovative work behavior acts as a partial mediating variable in the relationship between work ethic and employee performance, meaning that work ethic can improve performance both directly and through increasing innovative behavior. However, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is not proven to moderate the relationship between work ethic and employee performance. This indicates that the role of OCB in strengthening or weakening the influence of work ethic on performance is not yet significant in the context of the organization studied.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership and incentives on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable at the Department of Communication and Informatics (Diskominfo) of Batu City. A quantitative approach was employed using a census method involving 55 employees. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS software. The results indicate that leadership and incentives have a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Directly, both leadership and incentives also significantly impact employee performance, with incentives being the most dominant factor. However, a unique finding emerged: work motivation does not significantly influence employee performance and fails to function as a mediating variable in all relational models. This phenomenon suggests that employees work pragmatically based on standard operating procedures (SOP) and rigid bureaucratic obligations. The research implications suggest strengthening transparent incentive systems and instructional leadership to maintain organizational productivity stability.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the Pasuruan City Social Service is a very important factor in efforts to improve community welfare. However, various factors such as leadership style, work motivation, and compensation are thought to influence the effectiveness of these services. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and employee work motivation on the effectiveness of compensation-mediated services. The population that is the focus of this study is all employees of the Pasuruan City Social Service, totaling 41 people. Given the relatively small population, which is 41 people, the sampling technique used is a saturated sample or census. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using SmartPLS software version 4. The results of the study showed that leadership style did not have a direct effect on service effectiveness. Work motivation did not have a direct effect on service effectiveness. Leadership style had a direct effect on compensation. Work motivation had a direct effect on compensation. Compensation had a direct effect on service effectiveness. Leadership style had an effect on service effectiveness through compensation mediation. Work motivation had an effect on service effectiveness through compensation mediation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Work Conflict and Quality of Work Life on Employee Performance, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) as a mediating variable. The study was conducted on civil servants at the Pasuruan City Regional Secretariat, with a population of all employees and a sample of 81 respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using software .Smart Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the analysis show that: (1) Work Conflict does not have a significant effect on Employee Performance, (2) Quality of Work Life also does not have a significant effect on Employee Performance, (3) Work Conflict does not have a significant effect on OCB, (4) Quality of Work Life contributes positively to increasing OCB, (5) strong OCB has a positive influence on employee performance, (6) work conflict does not have a significant influence on employee performance mediated by OCB, and (7) Quality of Work Lifeplays an important role in improving employee performance, with OCB as a mediator that strengthens the relationship. This study emphasizes the importance of Quality of Work Life in improving employee performance through OCB, although Work Conflict does not show a significant influence.

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the effect of Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), and Inventory Turnover (ITO) on profit growth in food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2023 period. This industry was chosen because of its strategic role in meeting the basic needs of the community and its high operational activities, thus demanding effective resource management to achieve maximum profits. The research method used is a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the company's annual financial statements. The sample was determined with certain criteria to ensure the relevance of the data during the observation period which includes the dynamics of the post-pandemic economy. The main theoretical foundations used are Resource-Based Theory (RBT) which emphasizes the management of internal resources to achieve competitive advantage, and Signaling Theory which places financial ratios as performance signals for external parties. The results of the study are expected to provide empirical evidence on how the efficiency of asset management, equity, and inventory turnover contributes to the increase in the company's net profit. Practically, this research is useful for company management in evaluating operational effectiveness and for investors as a consideration in making investment decisions. These findings also enrich the financial management literature related to the dynamics of profit growth in the consumer goods industry sector in Indonesia.
