Abstract

Background: Infant weight is a critical indicator of nutritional status and growth. Factors influencing infant weight include breastfeeding frequency and duration. Massage has been identified as a potential intervention to improve infant weight gain. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of infant massage on weight gain among infants aged 0 to 12 months in the working area of Puskesmas Kandis. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach was employed. The population consisted of 33 infants, with 30 infants meeting the inclusion criteria. Primary data were collected through direct observation, while secondary data were obtained from Puskesmas health records. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test in SPSS. Results: The findings showed a significant increase in infant weight after the massage intervention, with a mean weight gain of 0.2977%. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference in weight before and after the intervention. A strong correlation was observed between massage and weight gain, with a correlation coefficient of 0.993. Conclusion: Infant massage has a significant positive effect on weight gain. Further research is recommended to explore other factors influencing infant weight gain

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is one of the stiffness or constriction in the lower abdomen that occurs in the run up to menstruation or during menstruation. Dismenorrhea has a huge impact on teenage girls because it causes disturbance of day to day activities. Teenage girls who experience menstrual pain (dismenorrhoea) at the time of menstruation will feel limited in doing activities especially in school activities accompanied by dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fever, even to fainting. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge related to the prevention and treatment of dysmenorrhea. The target of this community service are the teenagers who lives in the Pondok Pesantren dan Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak (Lksa) Bintan Sa’adillah Ar Rosyid Bantul, as many as 19 respondents. The community service activity will take place in April 2023. The methods used in this research are lecture methods, visual audio and posters. To measure the level of students' knowledge about dysmenorrhea and its treatment using questionnaires. The results showed that the respondents that before health education most of the knowledge of respondents related to knowledge about prevention and treatment of dysmenorrhea in the sufficient category 57.9%, and after given education experienced an improvement in good category of 57,9%. So it can be concluded that there was an increase in respondents' knowledge after having completed health education.

Abstract

Background: Pregnant women often feel disturbed sleep patterns during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. This happens because of changes in physiology and psychology. Physiological changes such as abdominal enlargement, anatomical changes and hormonal changes. Meanwhile, psychological changes are caused by excessive anxiety and fear for no reason. Eventually it leads to depression so that the quality of sleep is disturbed. Disturbed sleep quality can be overcome by non-pharmacological methods, namely by using lavender aromatherapy. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy on the quality of sleep of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters at the Lambu Village Polindes. Method: Pre-experimental research design with a pre-test post-test one group design. The population of all pregnant women who carried out examinations in October-November at the Lambu Village polindes were 20 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters with a minimum HPL at the end of November. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling with 15 respondents. This study used lavender aromatherapy using a diffuser at night for 7 days. Pittsbrug sleep quality index (PSQI) sleep quality instrument which consists of 7 components. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Result: Based on the results of the wilcoxon test, it shows that the p-value = 0.035 where the p-value is <0.05, which means that Ha or the hypothesis in this study is accepted. that is, there is an effect of lavender aromatherapy on the sleep quality of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters at the Lambu Village Polindes. It was proven that 10 out of 15 respondents (66.7%) had a change in sleep quality. Conclusion: There is an effect of lavender aromatherapy on the quality of sleep of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters at the Lambu Village Polindes. Abstract

Background: Pregnancy often cause discomfort, anxiety, and fear due to hormonal and physical changes in mothers. One way to overcome these problems is through yoga. Practicing yoga during pregnancy is a useful self-help method to reduce discomfort, support the birthing process, and prepare mentally for the postpartum period. One yoga technique, Yoga Nidra, a form of Savasana, helps relax the body physically and psychologically.Objective: To determine the effectiveness of Yoga Nidra in reducing anxiety levels among pregnant women at Puskesmas Kasihan I.Methods: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest without control. The population consisted of 53 pregnant women at Puskesmas Kasihan I. The sample included 16 third-trimester women selected randomly and given Yoga Nidra four times. Primary data were collected using questionnaires, while secondary data came from medical records. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-testResults: The Sig (2-tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Conclusion: Yoga Nidra effectively reduces anxiety among pregnant women at Puskesmas Kasihan I.
