Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the stages of deep learning, understanding, applying, and reflecting in improving the quality of students' narrative writing which is still low, especially in text structure, idea development, and language accuracy due to conventional approaches that focus on the final result. Using a literature study method with a descriptive-analytical approach, data was obtained from journals, books, and relevant research through the stages of identification, selection, analysis, and synthesis. The results of the study show that the three stages significantly improve the quality of narrative writing: the understanding stage strengthens the conceptual basis, the applying stage develops skills through structured practice, and the reflecting stage allows for evaluation and revision. The integration of the three not only improves the technical aspects of writing, but also creativity, critical thinking, and metacognitive awareness, so that deep learning is proven to be effective as an innovative, student-centered strategy and supports sustainable literacy development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of in-depth learning and writing skills of grade 10 students at SMAN 4 Makassar and examine the relationship between the two variables. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method on 31 students through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that in-depth learning was in the high category with an average of 36.7, while writing skills were also in the high category with an average of 35.1. The results of the correlation test showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.55, which means there is a positive relationship with the medium category, so that higher in-depth learning tends to be followed by an increase in writing skills, although the relationship is not very strong. Thus, in-depth learning contributes to students' writing skills, but other supporting factors such as writing practice and continuous learning strategies are still needed to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

The Impact of the Implementation of the Seven-Minute Lecture Method on Public Speaking Confidence of Students at MAN 1 Buton Selatan. This study aims to determine the impact of the implementation of the sevenminute lecture method (kultum) on public speaking confidence among students of MAN 1 South Buton. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research type. The study population was all students of MAN 1 South Buton, with a sample of 81 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, while data analysis used simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that the application of the seven-minute lecture method (kultum) has a positive and significant impact on students' public speaking confidence, as evidenced by the significance value (Sig.) In addition, the analysis of the determination coefficient results showed that the seven-minute lecture method contributed 60.3% to public speaking confidence, while the rest was influenced by other factors outside this study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the seven-minute lecture method can be used as an effective practice-based learning method in increasing public speaking confidence in students of MAN 1 South Buton.

Abstract

Writing is a crucial competency that involves higher-order thinking processes. However, Indonesian students still face significant challenges, such as difficulty generating ideas, irregular sentence structures, and the influence of informal social media language. This study aims to explain the role of deep learning as an innovative, constructivist-based strategy in improving students' critical, creative, and reflective writing skills. This study employed a literature review method by analyzing various academic literature, research reports, and scientific articles published between 2017 and 2026. Data were obtained from Google Scholar and Taylor & Francis Online databases through systematic analysis. The results show that deep learning effectively overcomes these barriers by prioritizing conceptual understanding, interconnections between materials, and the application of knowledge in real-world situations. This approach transforms the learning process into a meaningful, mindful, and joyful experience, directly impacting students' higher-order thinking skills. Furthermore, the integration of digital technology into deep learning supports collaborative writing and independent learning. In conclusion, deep learning is an important pedagogical innovation that not only improves the quality and technical structure of writing, but also shapes critical character and adaptive literacy skills in facing the challenges of the 21st century
