Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Determine the influence of writing skills of grade IV students after being given the Cooperative Integrated and Composition (CIRC) model at SDN 85 Singkawang. 2) To find out how much influence the writing skills of grade IV students are after being given the Cooperative Integrated and Composition (CIRC) model at SDN 85 Singkawang. The research used was an experimental research with a Post Test Only Control Group design. The population in this study is grade IV students of SDN 85 Singkawang. The research sample is taken by Purpose Sampling in this safe sampling to determine the sample with certain considerations. The prerequisite test carried out was a normality test using the Shapiro-Wilk formula and a variance homogeneity test was carried out to see the similarity of variants in both groups. Data were analyzed univariately with a significance level of 5% (0.05) for the first hypothesis test was used as an effect size test. The results of the study show that: 1) From the results of the calculation of short story writing skills of students in grade IV who use the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model with classes that use the direct learning model in grade IV students of SDN 85 Singkawang. This is proven by the Independent Sample t-test. 2) The Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model has a great influence on writing skills in grade IV students of SDN 85 Singkawang. This is evidenced by the effect size test obtained a value of 1.125 with the high category using SPSS Version 26 obtained a sig (2-tailed) value < 0.05, which is 0.003 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos in improving problem-solving skills in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects. The study used a quasi-experimental approach with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The subjects were 30 fifth-grade elementary school students selected as samples. The research instruments included a problem-solving ability test and an observation sheet for the implementation of learning. The results showed a significant increase in students' problem-solving skills after being treated through the PjBL model assisted by animated videos. The average posttest score was higher than the pretest, so it can be concluded that this learning strategy is effective in improving student learning outcomes. The use of animated videos helped students to visualize abstract concepts and engage more actively in the learning process. In addition, the results of observations of the implementation of learning showed that students became more active, enthusiastic, and able to work together in groups to complete the project. Student activity increased gradually, starting from the project planning stage, information collection, to the presentation of results. The teacher acted as a facilitator who provided direction and guidance, while students were directly involved in each process. This indicates that the integration of technology-based media supports collaborative and student-centered learning. Therefore, the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model with animated videos is not only effective in improving problem-solving skills but also fosters overall student engagement in science learning. Therefore, this learning model can be recommended as an innovative strategy to enhance problem-solving skills in primary education.

Abstract

Students at MTs Ushuluddin Singkawang face several challenges in learning the Indonesian language, particularly in writing literary works. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that most students have low self-confidence, limited literacy skills, and a lack of creativity in expressing ideas through writing. Their written works generally consist of summaries of lesson materials rather than creative literary pieces such as short stories. To address these issues, the implementation team carried out a Community Service Program (PkM) in the form of a short story writing workshop aimed at enhancing students’ creativity, literacy skills, and self-confidence in literary writing. The workshop was conducted through four main stages: (1) preparation, including material development, coordination with the school, and participant selection; (2) training implementation, involving the delivery of short story writing techniques and hands-on practice; (3) mentoring for story production, providing guidance in drafting and revising students’ works; and (4) evaluation through assessment of the final works and measurement of improvement using pretests and posttests. A total of 27 students from class VIIIC participated in this activity. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ short story writing skills, with 77.8% achieving a “very high” category and 22.2% achieving a “high” category. Participant satisfaction was also high, with 92.59% expressing they were “very satisfied” and 7.40% “satisfied” with the program. Although some students still struggled with spelling and mechanics, overall the workshop effectively enhanced students’ understanding, motivation, and self-confidence in creative writing. Therefore, the short story writing workshop proved to be an effective means of developing students’ creative potential while strengthening the culture of literacy in schools..

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Environmental Care Attitude of grade V students at SDN 04 Singkawang (2) factors that influence the cultivation of environmental care attitudes through IPAS learning in grade V students of SDN 04 Singkawang. This research is a qualitative research, with questionnaire, interview and documentation methods. The subjects in this study were 34 people which included 1 educator from 33 students from class V SDN 04 Singkawang. The reason the researcher made class V as an informant is because they are at a stage of cognitive, social, and moral development that allows them to understand, respond, and express attitudes towards environmental issues quite well. In addition, they have obtained relevant learning materials, so they are considered appropriate and strategic in exploring the environmental care attitudes of elementary school students. The results showed that (1) Environmental Care Attitude of grade V students at SDN 04 Singkawang showed a level of concern for the environment. Their behavior shows five main indicators, namely, hard work, initiative, respect for cleanliness, responsibility, and wise use of resources. To build a strong and consistent attitude of environmental care, strengthening through habituation, continuous education, and the active role of parents and teachers are still needed; (2) factors that influence the cultivation of environmental care attitudes through IPAS learning in grade V students of SDN 04 Singkawang are 2, namely, supporting factors and inhibiting factors. In the supporting factors there is the role of the teacher, Active and Contextual Learning Methods, Adequate Facilities and Infrastructure, Parental Involvement, and Habituation and Routine Activities. While the inhibiting factors are the lack of individual student awareness, the surrounding environment, limited facilities, and limited IPAS learning time / hours.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) how is the interest in reading, 2) how is the skill of writing narrative essays, and 3) how big is the relationship between interest in reading and the skill of writing narrative essays of fourth grade students at SDN 92 Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlational research design. The population in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 92 Singkawang. In this study there were 28 students used as research samples. Data collection techniques used non-test techniques and test techniques. Data were analyzed using a correlation test with a level of 0.05 and looked for variable contributions. The results of the study showed that 1) interest in reading, 2) skills in writing narrative essays, and 3) the relationship between interest in reading and students' skills in writing narrative essays there is a significant relationship (correlation) between interest in reading and students' skills in writing narrative essays. With a correlation coefficient of 0.415 which means it has a moderate relationship based on the correlation level. Interest in reading has a contribution of 17%. The implications of this study indicate that there needs to be an effort to increase students' interest in reading so that it can have a positive impact on narrative essay writing skills.

Abstract

Didasari oleh permasalahan kurangnya pemahaman dan kesadaran siswa mengenai pentingnya menulis karya ilmiah serta kurangnya keterampilan siswa dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah. Maka dari itu, Kegiatan PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan minat menulis, khususnya menulis karya ilmiah bagi pelajar SMKN 2 Singkawang dengan memberikan solusi yakni menggunakan teknik ringkas yang dapat mempermudah dan membantu siswa untuk memahami Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan utama yaitu: Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, dan Evaluasi Kegiatan. Evaluasi dilakukan dalam bentuk Observasi oleh tim pelaksana untuk mengamati partisipasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam setiap sesi pelatihan. Selain itu juga diberikan angket respon untuk mengetahui tingkat kebermanfaatan pelatihan yang diberikan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam setiap sesi pelatihan, secara keseluruhan masuk dalam kategori sangat baik dilihat dari keterampilan siswa dalam menulis karya ilmiah, antusiasme, tingkat pemahaman siswa, dan keaktifan siswa selama mengikuti pelatihan.   Selain itu, hasil angket respon menunjukkan 72 siswa (87%) dari 83 siswa kelas X yang berpendapat kegiatan pelatihan teknik ringkas dalam menulis karya ilmiah  ini sangat bermanfaat. Dan sebanyak 80 siswa (94%) dari 85 siswa kelas XI juga berpendapat hal yang sama pada kegiatan tersebut. Jadi, kegiatan pelatihan yang diberikan memberikan dampak yang positif bagi siswa dan dirasakan kebermanfaatannya untuk para siswa SMKN 2 Singkawang

Abstract

ABSTRACT Suci Nurpitri: The Effect of Project Based Learning Model (PjBL) on Plant Body Parts Science Material on Improving Learning Outcomes of Grade IV Students at SDN 84 Singkawang. Thesis, ISBI Singkawang, 2025. This pre-experimental quantitative research aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 84 Singkawang on the science material of plant body parts. All 24 fourth grade students became the research sample. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test. The results showed a difference between learning outcomes before and after the application of PjBL. The average student pre-test score was 62.5, increasing to 73.96 in the post-test, showing an increase of 11.46 points or 18.34%. The effect size calculation results show a value of 0.6535, which is classified as a large interpretation, so the alternative hypothesis (HA) is accepted. In conclusion, the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model has a major effect on improving the learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 84 Singkawang on plant body parts science material. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal intelligence and learning outcomes of fifth grade social studies at the Nurul Islam Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlation design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of the Nurul Islam Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Singkawang and the sample in this study used Simple Random Sampling of 30 students. The results of the study show that based on the results of the calculation of the questionnaire, the students' interpersonal intelligence has an average value of 85%, so it can be concluded that the interpersonal intelligence of students in grade V of SD Islam Terpadu Nurul Islam has a very high criterion. Based on the results of the calculation of the results of the students' social studies learning in grade V of SD Islam Terpadu Nurul Islam has an average of 69, so it can be concluded that the students' social studies learning outcomes have a high criterion. Hypothesis testing using Pearson Product Moment correlation obtained signifikan 0.116 > 0.05 , so it can be concluded that there is no relationship between interpersonal intelligence and the results of students' social studies learning in grade V of SD IT Nurul Islam Singkawang

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the differences in initial reading skills betweenclasses that use flash card media and classes that do not use flash card media inthe Indonesian language subject of class II students at MI Al-Fatah Singkawang,(2) determine how much influence flash card media has on initial reading skills inthe Indonesian language subject of class II students at MI Al-Fatah Singkawang,(3) determine students&#39; responses to the use of flash card media in learningIndonesian language of class II students at MI Al-Fatah Singkawang. This type ofresearch is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalentpre-test and post-test control group design. The population in this study were all 45second-grade students of MI Al-Fatah Singkawang. Sampling in this study usedsaturated samples (total sampling). Data collection techniques in this study weretest and non-test techniques. The data analysis technique used was statisticalanalysis. The results of the study showed that: (1) There were differences in initialreading skills between classes that used flash card media and classes that did notuse flash card media in the Indonesian Language subject for second-gradestudents of MI Al-Fatah Singkawang, (2) The magnitude of the influence of flashcard media on initial reading skills in the Indonesian language subject of class IIstudents of MI Al-Fatah Singkawang. This is proven that the Effect Size is 1.370then ES > 0.8 which means it is included in the High criteria. (3) the studentresponse questionnaire showed a very good response, proven by the results of thepercentage calculation getting 86%.
