Abstract

Introduction: Meeting human resource (HR) needs in hospitals is a significant challenge in providing optimal healthcare services. The Education, Training, and Research (Diklatlit) Unit plays a strategic role in HR development. The importance of qualified human resources in improving service quality and hospital competitiveness is undeniable. Effective and efficient healthcare services depend heavily on the skills, knowledge, and professional attitudes of both medical and non-medical personnel. Methods: This research was conducted through Field Learning Experience (PBL) activities using an observational and participatory approach at Adventist Hospital Bandar Lampung. The research method was carried out in several ways, namely: 1) Direct observation of activities and work processes in the Training and Development Unit and related units in the hospital, 2) Semi-structured interviews with the head of the Training and Development Unit, 3) Documentation of training policies, training schedules, and results of previous training evaluations. Results: The main problems were a shortage of HR and excessive workload in the Diklatlit Unit. The HR redistribution strategy and the development of internal trainers were identified as effective solutions in supporting the sustainability of the training program. Conclusion: The implementation of HR redistribution and internal training has been proven to support the efficiency and sustainable capacity building of the Diklatlit Unit.

Abstract

This study aims to address the challenges in managing the pharmaceutical warehouse at Metro Islamic Hospital (RSIM), which has not fully complied with the First In, First Out (FIFO) principle. This non-compliance has the potential to cause a buildup of expired stock, financial losses, and decreased operational efficiency, as well as endangering patient safety. This report is the result of Field Learning Practice (PBL) conducted at RSIM, identifying the causes of the problem and evaluating its impact.. Method: The approach used in this study was direct observation of the storage and arrangement of pharmaceutical supplies in the RSIM warehouse. Data was collected through field observations, interviews with relevant staff, and internal document analysis. Priority issues were identified using the USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method to determine the main issues that needed immediate attention.. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the issue of drug arrangement that does not comply with FIFO is a top priority. Implementing a strategy to improve the layout of the pharmaceutical warehouse based on FIFO at RSIM is crucial to minimize the risk of expired drugs, reduce financial losses, improve patient safety through timely and high- quality drug administration, and enhance compliance with good pharmaceutical practice (GPP) regulations.Keyword: Pharmaceutical Warehouse, FIFO, Metro Islamic Hospital, Operational Efficiency, Patient Safety.

Abstract

Risk management is an important component in ensuring the quality of service and patient safety in hospitals. The implementation of risk management, which is still reactive, causes various potential risks not to be identified and mitigated optimally. This study aims to explore the implementation of the Opportunity Solution Tree (OST) and Fishbone Analysis approaches in strengthening risk management at RSU Muhammadiyah Metro. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of directors, department heads, managers, assistant managers, quality team leaders, and unit heads involved in hospital risk management. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and document review. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show four main themes: increased management awareness of the importance of proactive risk management, ease of identifying root causes through Fishbone Analysis, OST's ability to develop more structured alternative solutions, and implementation obstacles such as limited HR competencies, a reporting culture that is not yet optimal, and the lack of integration in the risk management information system. The implementation of OST and Fishbone Analysis is considered capable of improving cross-unit collaboration in the process of risk identification and mitigation. This study concludes that applying OST and Fishbone Analysis contributes positively to strengthening risk management at RSU Muhammadiyah Metro and supports shifting the risk management paradigm from reactive to proactive.

Abstract

The Casemix Unit plays a crucial role in ensuring the completeness of BPJS Kesehatan claim documents. Delays in data completion can hamper the verification and claim submission process, resulting in delays in claim payments, disruptions to cash flow, and hospital operations. Therefore, research is needed to analyze the effect of delays in data completion on the timeliness of BPJS Kesehatan claim processing. This study aims to analyze the effect of delays in data completion in the Casemix Unit on the timeliness of BPJS Kesehatan claim processing at Gladis Medical Center Hospital. Risk management, hospitals, Opportunity Solution Tree, Fishbone Analysis, qualitative research. This research is a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The study population is all BPJS Kesehatan claim files processed at the Casemix Unit of Gladis Medical Center Hospital during the study period. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique. Data were obtained through document observation and claim file completeness checklists. Data analysis was performed univariately to describe the characteristics of the variables, and bivariately using the Chi-Square test with a 95% significance level (α = 0.05). The results showed that the majority of delays in the BPJS Kesehatan claims process were caused by delays in data completion at the Casemix Unit. The bivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between delays in data completion and the timeliness of BPJS Kesehatan claims processing (p<0.05). The higher the level of delay in data completion, the greater the risk of claims processing delays. Hospitals need to improve coordination between units, strengthen compliance with complete medical record documentation, and optimize information systems to support a more effective and efficient claims process.
