Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of spiritual intelligence and hedonistic lifestyle on personal financial management in generation Z. This research aims to investigate the extent to which these two factors influence the financial management of the younger generation. Quantitative methods were applied in this study by involving 100 generation Z participants in the Tasikmalaya area who were selected through survey techniques. Data collection was carried out digitally using a Google Form questionnaire that utilized a Likert Scale of 1-5 to measure each indicator. Data analysis using SPSS 24 includes three main stages: instrument testing, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis verification. The research findings reveal that spiritual intelligence has a significant positive effect on financial management, while a hedonistic lifestyle tends to have a negative impact on personal financial management. These results are expected to provide valuable contributions in understanding the dynamics of financial management among generation Z, especially related to the role of spiritual aspects and consumptive lifestyles.

Abstract

Productive zakat plays a strategic role in poverty alleviation by directing zakat funds toward the economic independence of mustahik, aligning with the maqashid syariah principle of hifz al-mal (protection and development of wealth). The Government issued Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs (PMA) Number 16 of 2025 as a new legal foundation for productive zakat governance, superseding PMA Number 52 of 2014. However, its implementation at the regional level remains suboptimal, as found at BAZNAS Tasikmalaya City. This study aims to examine and formulate the direction of transformation in productive zakat governance at BAZNAS Tasikmalaya City in line with the regulation. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, using field observation, interviews with seven key informants, and document review, analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that zakat distribution remains dominated by consumptive schemes, while the Mustahik Menjadi Muzaki program operates without sound planning, structured mentoring, or standardized monitoring-evaluation systems. Drawing on Edwards III's policy implementation framework, this gap stems from limited internal system readiness rather than regulatory resistance. The study proposes three synchronization strategies: positioning productive zakat as a flagship program, strengthening mustahik mentoring, and developing a measurable indicator-based monitoring-evaluation system.

Abstract

Tasikmalaya is widely recognized for its strong Sufi and pesantren traditions, yet it continues to face persistent problems of poverty and social inequality. This study examines the role of the Idrisiyyah Sufi Order in transforming Sufi values into philanthropic practices that strengthen social solidarity and community empowerment. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that Idrisiyyah’s Sufi philanthropy is constructed through the internalization of spiritual values, institutionalized philanthropic practices, and the reinforcement of social solidarity. Philanthropic activities have evolved from charity-oriented initiatives toward transformative models emphasizing social and economic empowerment. This study formulates the Idrisiyyah Sufi Philanthropy Model, which illustrates the integration of spirituality, social praxis, and sustainable social change. The findings highlight the capacity of Sufi orders to function as spiritually grounded agents of social transformation that are adaptive to contemporary societal dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the BAZNAS Scholarship on the quality of education and academic achievement of students in Tasikmalaya Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the experiences and perceptions of scholarship recipients through in-depth interviews with 10 informants (9 students and 1 BAZNAS representative). Data analysis was conducted thematically using NVivo 12. The results indicate that the impact of the BAZNAS Scholarship is multidimensional. Economically, the scholarship alleviates financial burdens, allowing students to focus on their studies. From an academic perspective, the program enhances learning motivation, engagement, and academic achievement in some cases, although outcomes vary depending on individual factors. Regarding educational quality, the scholarship supports active participation, learning interactions, and the development of academic and personal competencies. However, there are limitations such as delays in fund disbursement and a lack of academic mentoring. Therefore, the program’s effectiveness needs to be enhanced through the integration of financial assistance with comprehensive mentoring to maximize benefits for recipients in the local area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of consumptive lifestyle and zuhud attitudes on the financial planning of students at STAI Idrisiyyah. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to students as respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression supported by statistical software, including validity, reliability, classical assumption, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that a consumptive lifestyle does not have a significant effect on students’ financial planning, while zuhud attitudes have a positive and significant effect on financial planning, both partially and simultaneously. These findings demonstrate that consumptive behavior and spiritual values in the form of zuhud play an important role in determining the quality of students’ financial planning. Therefore, controlling consumptive lifestyles and implementing zuhud attitudes wisely are essential in improving students’ financial planning and financial well-being.
