Abstract

This qualitative interpretative research aims at scientifically testing the signs and symbols of sharia economic values in the equitable distribution of justice in the Quran based on the semiotic discourse of the Quran and describes their significance in the economic sphere. Economic values and principles are presented in the Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 261, which explains the meaning of charity with its seven-hundred-fold reward for whoever gives charity. Semiotics, as one approach to the Quran study, attempts to construct the meaning of language with a sign system. The marking interpretation method is to synergize between the mark and the marker, which leads to a new representation of the meaning. Based on semiotic reading, socio-economic justice may be realized through several ways: Eliminating monopolies; Guaranteeing all parties’ rights and opportunities for active participation in the economic processes, including production, distribution, circulation and consumption; Ensuring fulfillment of the basic needs of every community member; and conducting socio-economic security assurance mandate for survival and assisting the weak.

Abstract

The phenomenon of marriage is scary and childfree is increasingly attracting attention, especially in Indonesia, especially among the younger generation. Many individuals are starting to doubt marriage and the decision to have children due to various factors including economic, social and psychological factors. Fear of marriage (marriage is scary) is often associated with increasing divorce rates, financial instability and social and cultural pressures that still maintain traditional roles in the household, while the choice to not have children (childfree) arises as a response to economic challenges, high living costs and the desire to obtain personal freedom and well-being. In Indonesia, the debate regarding these two issues is quite complex because cultural norms and religious teachings still place marriage and children as part of an ideal life, individuals who choose to postpone or avoid marriage and those who decide to live without children often face social pressure and pressure from family and the surrounding environment, however, changes in mindsets and increasing awareness of individual rights in determining their life path are starting to open up a wider discussion space regarding the concept of family and happiness in the modern era. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence fear of marriage and the decision not to have children in Indonesia. By understanding this trend, it is hoped that a new perspective can be obtained regarding the diversity of life choices and their impact on social dynamics and family structures in the future.

Abstract

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa on mut'ah marriage is implemented through the legal istinbath method, which in this method is the process of determining the law based on Islamic legal sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, Ijma, and Qiyas. This study aims to determine the legal istinbath method of the Indonesian Ulema Council in formulating a fatwa on mut'ah marriage, as well as to determine what factors cause the Indonesian Ulema Council in formulating a fatwa on mut'ah marriage. In conclusion, the MUI fatwa and most scholars state that mut'ah marriage is haram, because this marriage is a marriage where a man marries a woman for a short time and for a certain time, while the purpose of marriage itself is to build a family that is sakinah mawadah wa rahmah. In this study the method used is the normative legal approach method where this research only uses literature studies or relies on books rather than field research.

Abstract

Abstract. Dagan Village has an unhealthy behavior in processing household waste, namely by burning their waste. This behavior has a negative impact on the health of both the environment and humans. Krenova was presented to the Dagan community as an alternative solution to this problem. Krenova is a waste burning device with minimal smoke that can be used to burn communal waste equivalent to 1 RW's waste. Installation of this tool includes three stages, namely preparation, installation, and monitoring-evaluation. The preparation stage includes community outreach with waste science and empowerment techniques. The installation stage involved three-way coordination, namely between the Service Team, Dagan Village and Krenova Makers. The monitoring stage is carried out in two ways, namely online with the Krenova Team in Charge from the Village, and offline, namely through direct visits. At the monitoring and evaluation stage, obstacles were found in the practice of burning waste using Krenova, and this became the basis for subsequent service activities. Abstrak. Abstract

Background: Sustainable human capital development in low- and middle-income countries depends on households' capacity to withstand financial shocks that threaten educational continuity. In Indonesia, the escalating cost of medical education has intensified household financial vulnerability, particularly where formal student loans and bank-based credit remain limited, raising concerns for the long-term sustainability of the medical workforce pipeline. This paper examines gold-backed pawning, primarily through Indonesia's state-owned institution PT Pegadaian, as an inclusive financing mechanism that supports sustainable household livelihoods by providing rapid, collateralized liquidity without reliance on credit scoring. Methods: Using a narrative–conceptual review design, this study synthesizes interdisciplinary evidence from 45 Scopus-indexed studies (2010–2023) on household finance, Islamic pawnbroking (ar-rahn), digital financial innovation, and medical education financing, integrating empirical and theoretical perspectives on how household gold functions as an emergency liquidity buffer for sustaining human capital investment, and how Pegadaian operationalizes inclusive, Sharia-compliant, digitally enabled (e-gadai) access aligned with inclusive and sustainable development goals. Findings: Gold-backed pawning commonly bridges short-term liquidity gaps for tuition arrears, clinical rotation fees, certification costs, and health-related shocks that threaten educational continuity, offering a more sustainable alternative to unstructured coping strategies such as productive-asset liquidation or high-cost informal borrowing. However, the literature also highlights persistent risks, including short loan tenors, exposure to gold price volatility, information asymmetry in loan-to-value (LTV) structures, and repeated reliance among vulnerable households, which may undermine the long-term sustainability of household welfare if left unmanaged. Conclusion: Gold-backed pawning can be reframed from an ad hoc coping strategy into a structured, sustainable liquidity instrument for human capital financing, provided it is embedded within stronger consumer protection, financial literacy, and institutional partnership arrangements that safeguard household economic resilience over time. Novelty/Originality of this article: This paper proposes a novel four-pillar "Gold-for-Education" framework integrating household and community-level gold holdings, Pegadaian and partner institutions as gold-based intermediaries, Islamic social finance overlays such as cash waqf and corporate social responsibility mechanisms, and targeted disbursement pathways aligned with the medical education pipeline — offering a structured, sustainable model for inclusive human capital financing in developing economies.
