Abstract

This community service aims to enhance teachers' abilities in utilizing Android-based applications as teaching aids for Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 4 Huamual Belakang. The activities are carried out through training, mentoring, and hands-on practice in using educational applications to present material in an interactive, contextual, and engaging manner for students. This community service activity uses a participatory approach with training and mentoring methods, focusing on improving teachers' capacity in utilizing Android-based applications as aids in Social Studies (IPS) learning. The results of the activities indicate an improvement in teachers' competencies in selecting, operating, and developing Android applications that align with the curriculum and student characteristics. Additionally, the implementation of Android-based applications can enhance learning motivation, active engagement, as well as students' critical and creative thinking skills in understanding social phenomena. This service is also in line with the Merdeka Belajar policy, which promotes student-centered learning and digital literacy in schools. Thus, these activities not only enhance teachers' technological skills but also transform social studies (IPS) learning practices towards a more modern, participatory, and contextual approach, as well as strengthen collaboration between universities and schools in remote areas.

Abstract

The Pasemah megalithic site in South Sumatra is an invaluable cultural heritage reflecting the social, religious, and aesthetic life of prehistoric communities. However, its preservation faces serious challenges, including environmental degradation, land-use conversion, weak regulations, and limited public awareness of ancestral heritage. In the modern era, conservation efforts should not only focus on physical maintenance but also integrate digital technology as a strategic approach. Digitization through three-dimensional mapping, virtual reconstruction, online archives, and dissemination via digital media can expand public access and awareness. Such strategies not only safeguard the authenticity of the site but also promote it globally as an educational and cultural resource. Technology-based conservation requires synergy among government, academics, local communities, and the wider society to ensure the sustainability of its historical values for future generations.

Abstract

A museum is one of the institutions that has an important role in preserving the cultural heritage of a community. The existence of a museum not only functions as a place to store historical objects but also as an information center, a learning medium, and a means of cultural recreation for the community. This study aims to understand the history of the establishment of the Bharugano Wuna Museum, the development of the Bharugano Wuna Museum, and its role in preserving the culture of the Muna community in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. This research uses a historical research method which includes the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data sources were obtained through interviews with museum managers, direct observation at the research location, as well as documentation studies of various written sources related to the Muna museum and culture. The research results show that the Bharugano Wuna Museum was originally a traditional Muna house built in 2017 and was then converted into a museum in 2018. This museum plays an important role as a center for cultural information, a medium for learning history, a facility for preserving cultural heritage, as well as a cultural tourism attraction in Muna Regency. In addition, community participation in contributing to museum collections shows the collective awareness of the community in preserving and maintaining local culture. Thus, the existence of the Bharugano Wuna Museum becomes one of the strategic efforts in maintaining the cultural identity of the Muna people while introducing regional cultural heritage to the wider public.
