Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan micro speaking dalam meningkatkan kosa kata produktif siswa di SMPN 1 Plered. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus sehingga peneliti dapat memahami proses pembelajaran dalam kondisi kelas yang sebenarnya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sehingga informasi yang diperoleh mencerminkan pengalaman nyata guru dan siswa selama mengikuti kegiatan micro speaking. Fokus utama penelitian terletak pada perubahan penggunaan kosa kata, keberanian berbicara, serta keterlibatan siswa setelah beberapa sesi latihan lisan singkat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan kosa kata produktif. Siswa mulai lebih berani berbicara tanpa harus menunggu instruksi guru dan dapat menggunakan kosa kata baru secara lebih tepat dan lancar. Guru menyatakan bahwa micro speaking membantu memperkuat ingatan siswa terhadap kosa kata karena setiap latihan memberi kesempatan untuk mempraktikkannya secara langsung. Perubahan positif ini juga terlihat pada suasana kelas yang lebih aktif sehingga interaksi antar siswa berjalan lebih alami. Peningkatan kualitas penggunaan kosa kata tampak pada pilihan kata, ketepatan pengucapan, serta kemampuan menyusun kalimat lebih panjang. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa micro speaking dapat dijadikan strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan kosa kata produktif di sekolah menengah pertama. Sesi latihan singkat memberi ruang kepada siswa untuk mencoba berbicara dalam suasana yang terarah tetapi tetap nyaman. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan metode pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang dapat diterapkan dalam waktu terbatas tetapi tetap memberikan dampak bagi kemampuan lisan siswa. Penelitian lanjutan dapat dilakukan untuk melihat efek jangka panjang dari penggunaan micro speaking pada kemampuan berbicara yang lebih kompleks. Abstract

Improving the quality of educational services has become a major challenge for local governments in the era of regional autonomy, particularly regarding the effectiveness of bureaucratic performance. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Education Office bureaucracy in Purwakarta Regency in supporting the improvement of educational service quality. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document review. Research informants included structural officials, staff of the Education Office, and educational service users at the school level, selected using purposive sampling. The results indicate that the Education Office bureaucracy has implemented programs to improve service quality through procedural simplification, policy adjustments according to local needs, and coordination with educational units. However, challenges were identified, including limited human resource capacity, suboptimal internal coordination, disparities in service responsiveness across regions, and irregular outcome-based performance evaluation. The study concludes that strengthening the performance management system, enhancing human resource capacity, and improving cross-unit coordination mechanisms are crucial factors in enhancing bureaucratic effectiveness and service quality. These findings provide a basis for developing strategies to create a more responsive and sustainable educational bureaucracy. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the extent of the use of Android technology in translating English texts. The researcher employed a case study approach in this research. A case study is one of the approaches within the qualitative research paradigm. The aim is to describe and examine the effectiveness of using Android technology in translating words from the source language into the target language, as well as the factors that motivate students to use it. Three methods were used to collect the research data, namely classroom observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research sample consisted of second-grade students of Putra Gununghalu Vocational School, totaling 100 students in the 2025–2026 academic year. The results of the study show that students rarely bring English dictionaries when attending translation classes. One of the reasons is the availability of Android technology, which is easy to use, convenient, practical, and easy to carry in a pocket. When students have difficulty finding the meaning of a word, they simply type the word on their mobile phones by accessing Google Translate. Students also trust the accuracy of the meanings obtained through mobile access. Therefore, they consistently use it whenever they encounter difficulties in finding word meanings.The translation method used by students is still word-for-word translation. This is also related to language structure. In other words, students tend to follow the structure of the source language.
