Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is located right on the equator. This is certainly very supportive of one of the accelerations of Solar Power Plants. Proklamasi 45 University as a university in Yogyakarta that focuses on renewable energy plans to build an energy-themed location within the campus environment, named “Energy Park” with grid-connected Solar Power Plants as a source of electrical energy. This research aims to calculate the potential for electrical energy, its contribution to reducing CO2 emissions, and the feasibility of the Energy Park project from an economic point of view. The method used in this research is comparing data in the field and the system simulation method with PVsyst software as well as cash-flow analysis calculations. According to the results of the system simulation, the potential for electrical energy generated by rooftop grid-connected PV mini-grid each year is calculated at 8,310 kWh or 8.31 MWh, with details per kWp of 1528 kWh/kWp/year. Then the contribution of reducing CO2 emissions from the implementation of Energy Park’s Solar Power Plants with electricity production of 8.31 MWh/year for 30 years is 148,2 tCO2. Through cash-flow analyst calculations, it is known that the Energy Park’s Solar Power Plants project is not economically feasible when referring to the current selling price of electrical energy and the performance of the existing Energy Park’s Solar Power Plants.

Abstract

Nowadays, natural tourism waste management in Indonesia has begun to be considered asone of the priorities of all circles. Tourist visits to this natural tourist area will have apositive and negative impact. One of the positive impacts that arise is the economicturnaround and the improvement of welfare. However, along with the increase in humanactivities, there is a negative impact on the environment, namely the increase in wastegeneration. Existing tourism must remain based on environmental sustainability so that theimage of a natural tourism area continues to be maintained. As the number of touristdestinations and visitors increases, waste management in natural tourism areas is also anurgency that must be considered. The aim of this study is to examine the urgency andmanagement strategies of natural tourism areas in Indonesia. The research method used isdescriptive exploratory based on literature review. Through a systemic waste managementstrategy, the waste problem will be handled. Waste management strategies that can becarried out are simple management, reduction and restriction activities by natural tourismarea managers, 3R-based management such as waste banks and TPS3R, support frompolicy stakeholders in the form of providing binding facilities and regulations, and thedevelopment of ecotourism-based natural tourism areas.

Abstract

Tin mining in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has long been a strategic economic sector since the colonial era. Despite its significant contribution to the national economy, this activity has led to complex ecological and social impacts, including environmental degradation, pollution, and social conflict. This study aims to analyze tin mining practices through the lens of environmental ethics, highlighting the moral imbalance between human interests and nature. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research draws on a literature review of scholarly articles, media investigations, and theoretical frameworks of environmental ethics—particularly anthropocentrism, biocentrism, and ecocentrism. The findings reveal the dominance of anthropocentric values in mining policies and practices, wherein human interests are prioritized over ecosystem sustainability. Weak governance, the prevalence of illegal mining, and widespread environmental damage point to an ethical crisis in natural resource management. Biocentric and ecocentric approaches are proposed as normative alternatives that recognize the intrinsic value of nature and non-human life forms. This study underscores the urgency of reformulating development paradigms based on ecological justice to achieve more inclusive and ethical sustainability in resource governance in Indonesia

Abstract

ABSTRACTAt the provincial level, waste management in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) shows operational challenges and the need to increase community participation. The Yogyakarta Regional Government has encouraged the implementation of the circular economy as a solution to the waste problem, by emphasizing the 5R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recovery, Rethink). It also serves as a key strategy to reduce the burden on landfills and improve community-based management practices. This condition confirms the importance of sustainable local educational interventions and programs. In this context, the activity "Education and Socialization of Women with Environmental and Economic Empowered at the Gondangan Sejahtera Waste Bank" is present as a tangible form of synergy between environmental awareness and women's economic empowerment. This program aims to increase women's capacity in household waste management, recycling training, and strengthen economic value through a waste-based savings and production system. This activity was carried out with an education-based and socialization-based counseling method. Primary data were obtained through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and pretest-post-test results, as well as questionnaires. The most types of waste are plastic at 87.30% and paper at 92.70%. Meanwhile, the least organic waste is collected at the Waste Bank, and customers are encouraged to process organic waste independently. This shows that inorganic waste can be made into a circular economy so that women can be economically and environmentally empowered. This community service activity ran smoothly and enthusiastically. The participants gave three questions regarding tips for processing organic waste at home, especially wet rice. Then the resource person can answer the question well. The average pretest result was 54.53% and post-test result was 86.67%, with an increase of 32.13%. This proves that this education and socialization can increase the knowledge of the management of the Gondangan Sejahtera Waste Bank. Keywords: Waste Banks, Women's Role, Economy, Environment.
