Abstract

Nurses' dissatisfaction with hospital policies and administration can lead to serious consequences for the hospital, as nearly 80% of care is provided by nurses. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors related to job satisfaction among nurses in the inpatient wards of RSUD Pariaman. This is a descriptive correlational study with a cross-sectional design, using a questionnaire for data collection. Data analysis was conducted using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis. There was no relationship between nurses' characteristics and promotion opportunities with job satisfaction. However, leadership, the nature of the job, salary, and feedback were found to have a relationship with job satisfaction. The most dominant factor influencing job satisfaction is feedback. Recommendations for the hospital management to enhance job satisfaction include paying more attention to feedback: responding to suggestions made by nurses, monitoring job development, providing positive encouragement, and evaluating nurses' performance.

Abstract

Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin secretion or resistance. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) reported that in 2021 there were 537 million people with diabetes in the world and is projected to increase to 643 million in 2030 and 783 million in 2045. At Padang Pariaman Regional Hospital, Type II Diabetes Mellitus cases are among the top 10 diseases with a total of 515 cases in 2023, increasing to 661 cases in 2024, and 567 cases in 2025. This study used a case study method on Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients in the Internal Room of Padang Pariaman Regional Hospital in 2026 with a nursing process approach. The results of the assessment on Mrs. S showed complaints of weakness, nausea, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and a random blood sugar level of 259 mg/dl. Four nursing diagnoses were found, namely unstable blood glucose levels, acute pain, nausea, and risk of nutritional deficit. Interventions included blood glucose monitoring, hyperglycemia management, pain and nausea management, and nutritional needs. Conclusions indicate that comprehensive nursing care can improve patient conditions, characterized by lower blood glucose levels, fewer complaints, and increased appetite.

Abstract

Clean water is a basic need that is very important for the health and welfare of the community. However, access to clean water is still a challenge for some people in Nagari Situmbuk due to the limitations of piped water services and geographical conditions that do not support the development of independent water sources. This community service activity aims to identify the use of Balai Ateh Pincuran Water as the main source of water for the community and increase public awareness about the importance of safe and sustainable management and utilization of clean water. The activity was carried out for 25 days in Nagari Situmbuk with field observation methods, interviews, discussions with the community, and education about sanitation and clean water use. The target of the activity includes people who use the Balai Ateh Pincuran Water for their daily needs. The results of the activity show that Air Pincuran Balai Ateh has a very important role in meeting the domestic needs of the community, such as cooking, bathing, washing, and cleaning houses, as well as supporting the needs of public facilities such as mosques, schools, and government offices. However, there are still people who have not used the water as drinking water due to concerns about its quality and cleanliness. Through this service activity, the community gained an understanding of the importance of maintaining the quality of water sources, the application of good sanitation, and as an alternative to simple water treatment before consumption. These efforts are expected to support the availability of clean water that is safe, sustainable, and easily accessible to all Nagari Situmbuk communities.

Abstract

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability that requires rapid treatment from the pre-hospital phase, but the community in Nagari Malai III Koto still has minimal knowledge regarding early detection and initial treatment of stroke. This community service program aims to improve the community's ability in pre-hospital management of stroke patients through simple EMS. Methods include assessment, participant identification, health education on early stroke detection using the FAST method, and an introduction to EMS with the Detection component. Participants were 19 elderly people at high risk of stroke and 17 family members. Evaluation results showed a significant increase: stroke knowledge from 35% to 90%, FAST simulation from 30% to 88%, family role from 40% to 92%, and understanding of the EMS process from 25% to 85%. The conclusion of this program is that community-based health education is effective in increasing community preparedness in pre-hospital stroke management, and is expected to be able to implement an emergency stroke referral system.
