Abstract

This research aims to analyze the learning styles of students with intellectual disabilities using qualitative methods to dig deeper into the characteristics of their learning styles. The learning styles of students with intellectual disabilities are often influenced by their intellectual limitations, which affect the way they absorb and process information. Through a qualitative approach, this research focuses on collecting in-depth data through direct interviews with teachers, parents and students themselves to understand their needs and the most effective learning strategies. With this approach, it is hoped that certain patterns can be found that can help teachers in designing learning that is more appropriate to the characteristics and potential of students with intellectual disabilities. These interviews provide an opportunity to gain a subjective view of how students with intellectual disabilities learn and interact with learning materials. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide deeper insight into the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles of students with intellectual disabilities, so as to increase the effectiveness of the learning process for them. The findings from this research can also be a basis for developing better inclusive education policies in the future Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya belajar siswa tunagrahita dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menggali lebih dalam tentang karakteristik gaya belajar mereka. Gaya belajar siswa tunagrahita sering kali dipengaruhi oleh keterbatasan intelektual yang dimiliki, yang mempengaruhi cara mereka menyerap dan mengolah informasi. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini berfokus pada pengumpulan data secara mendalam melalui wawancara langsung dengan guru, orang tua, serta siswa itu sendiri untuk memahami kebutuhan dan strategi pembelajaran yang paling efektif bagi mereka. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan dapat ditemukan pola-pola tertentu yang dapat membantu guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang lebih sesuai dengan karakteristik dan potensi siswa tunagrahita. Wawancara ini memberikan kesempatan untuk memperoleh pandangan subjektif mengenai bagaimana siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual ini belajar dan berinteraksi dengan materi pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam mengenai pentingnya adaptasi metode pengajaran yang disesuaikan dengan gaya belajar individu siswa tunagrahita, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efektivitas proses pembelajaran bagi mereka. Temuan dari penelitian ini juga dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan inklusif yang lebih baik di masa depan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how effective Guidance and Counseling (BK) services are in helping students with intellectual disabilities at the Special State School (SKIN) 01 in Serang City to develop A descriptive quantitative method was used, involving interviews with mentoring teachers and literature studies The results indicate that the BK service approach is empathetic, individualized, and continuous. Concrete learning methods, visual media, daily evaluations, and habituation of polite values are provided as services Collaboration with BK teachers and parents supports the program It is proven that methods such as role-playing, humanistic approaches, sociodrama, and reinforcement of Islamic values successfully improve the academic, social, and emotional abilities of students with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and understand the forms of repetitive behaviors exhibited by a child with autism spectrum disorder at Sekolah Khusus Negeri (SKhN) 01 Kota Serang, as well as to explore the teacher’s strategies in managing these behaviors during classroom activities. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through direct observation and semi-structured interviews with the supporting teacher and a nine-year-old autistic student named Davin. The results indicate that D frequently displayed repetitive behaviors such as body rocking, hand rubbing, and meaningless humming, especially during tasks requiring concentration or while waiting for his turn. The teacher applied the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach using redirection and positive reinforcement strategies to reduce the frequency of such behaviors. An empathetic approach and structured learning environment were found to enhance the child’s ability to adapt and participate in class activities. These findings highlight the significance of implementing the ABA method and emphasize the teacher’s vital role as a facilitator in supporting the educational development of children with autism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the strategies used by teachers in managing the learning process of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Bimbingan Belajar Widya Wicara. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with the institution and direct observation of classroom activities, the findings show that teachers employ various adaptive strategies such as visual media, concrete and hands-on learning activities, positive reinforcement, individualized approaches, and attention-redirection techniques when children experience tantrums, difficulty focusing, or challenges in emotional regulation. A structured learning environment with minimal distractions, supported by the presence of two teachers in one session, helps create a sense of safety and enhances children’s engagement. Additionally, active communication and collaboration between teachers and parents strengthen the continuity of learning at home and support the monitoring of each child’s development. Overall, the study highlights that the learning strategies implemented at Widya Wicara are flexible, responsive, and child-centered, effectively supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of children with autism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher’s strategies in developing attention and engagement of a student with severe intellectual disability through play and singing methods at SKHN 02 Kota Serang. Students with severe intellectual disability have significantly below-average intellectual functioning as well as limitations in communication, social interaction, and adaptive behavior, thus requiring concrete and individualized learning approaches. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, involving one first-grade student as the subject and the classroom teacher, who also serves as the guidance and counseling teacher, as the main informant. Data were collected through observations and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the consistent use of play and singing methods effectively improves the student’s attention and engagement during learning activities. Singing, body movements, simple games, and positive reinforcement were shown to help the student understand instructions, reduce impulsive behavior, and enhance imitation and social interaction skills. The success of these strategies is also influenced by the teacher’s ability to provide positive reinforcement, serve as a behavioral role model, and adjust learning activities to the student’s physical condition. This study emphasizes that concrete, multisensory, and empathetic learning approaches are highly effective for students with severe intellectual disability. Therefore, play and singing methods can serve as relevant and applicable strategies to enhance engagement and developmental progress in children with special needs.

Abstract

Prevalensi gangguan jiwa di Indonesia terus meningkat seiring dengan bertambahnya kasus perlindungan obat terlarang. Keduanya sering muncul secara bersamaan dan saling menguntungkan satu sama lain, menciptakan kondisi yang dikenal sebagai diagnosis ganda. Artikel ini membahas strategi terapi dan rehabilitasi terpadu bagi Orang Dengan Gangguan Jiwa (ODGJ) korban perlindungan obat terlarang dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kasus pada salah satu pusat rehabilitasi di Banten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi rehabilitasi yang efektif menekankan asesmen komprehensif, terapi perilaku seperti Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), serta Motivational Interviewing (MI), didukung dengan pendekatan spiritual dan suasana kekeluargaan. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya dukungan keluarga, keterbatasan sumber daya profesional, dan tingginya risiko kekambuhan. Pendekatan non-farmakologis yang fokus pada aspek psikologis dan sosial terbukti mampu membantu pasien dalam proses pemulihan. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi multidisipliner dan dukungan sosial dalam keberhasilan rehabilitasi ODGJ korban konservasi obat terlarang.

Abstract

This descriptive-qualitative study examines guidance and counseling services for autistic students at an inclusive school in Serang. Data were collected through observation and interviews to gain in-depth information about these services. Basic guidance and counseling services aim to help all students, including autistic students, develop life skills. Learning begins at the beginning of the school year and is tailored to the age and development of the autistic students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis strategi layananbimbingan dan konseling yang efektif bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus. Dengantunalaras atau gangguan emosi dan perilaku di Sekolah Khusus Harapan ElmyraShanum. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif denganwawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa strategi yang diterapkan meliputi pendekatan Individual, kelompok, dankeluarga, serta pengembangan program intervensi yang berbasis pada kebutuhanemosional dan perilaku siswa. Selain itu, kolaborasi dengan orang tua dan gurumenjadi faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan layanan bimbingan dan konseling.Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi yang holistik danberkesinambungan dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan bimbingan konseling danmendukung perkembangan anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam mengatasitantangan yang dihadapi tantangan yang dihadapi.

Abstract

Drug abuse constitutes a form of behavioral disorder that has serious implications for an individual’s mental health. This study aims to explore the psychological dynamics experienced by former drug users during their period of substance use and throughout the rehabilitation process. A qualitative approach using a case study method was employed with one patient undergoing rehabilitation at the Welas Asih Indonesia Waras Ministry Center for Mental Health Rehabilitation (Pusat Rehabilitasi ODGJ), Serang, Banten. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and non-participatory observations. The findings indicate that the subject experienced severe psychological disturbances, including paranoia, delusions, auditory hallucinations, anxiety, and suicidal ideation during the period of drug use. Throughout the rehabilitation process, the subject demonstrated positive developments in self-acceptance, emotional regulation, and coping abilities through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), individual counseling, meditation, and social support within the rehabilitation environment. These findings underscore the importance of a holistic, empathetic, and continuous psychological approach in supporting the recovery process of former drug addicts.

Abstract

Emotional disorders are psychological conditions that affect an individual’s ability to regulate emotions, engage in social interactions, and adapt to their environment. In the context of increasing mental health cases in Indonesia, psychiatric rehabilitation services play a crucial role in supporting patient recovery. This study aims to analyze the rehabilitation process of a patient with emotional disorders at the ODGJ Welas Asih Rehabilitation Center and to identify the counseling approaches that contribute to the patient’s psychological improvement. This research employed a qualitative case study design, with data collected through in-depth interviews and behavioral observations. The findings show that the patient experienced significant progress in emotional regulation and social functioning. This improvement was supported by the implementation of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helped the patient identify and modify negative thinking patterns, as well as humanistic counseling, which provided unconditional acceptance and fostered self-understanding and confidence. The results were further analyzed using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Erikson’s Psychosocial Development Theory. These frameworks reveal that fulfilling basic needs, ensuring safety, strengthening social belonging, and supporting identity development play essential roles in emotional recovery. A supportive rehabilitation environment, consistent guidance, and structured daily activities also contributed to improved emotional stability and social adaptation. Overall, this study highlights the importance of a multidimensional approach in the rehabilitation of emotional disorders, emphasizing that psychological and social interventions are just as vital as medical treatment in facilitating patient recovery.
