Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychological well-being of hafiz Qur'an students. Psychological well-being is an individual's psychological health condition that has optimal positive psychological function. The positive psychological function refers to six dimensions, namely: self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life and self-growth. This research used a phenomenological qualitative method with thematic analysis. Participants were five hafiz students who were selected through snowball sampling. The results of the study show that the motivation of hafiz students in memorizing the Qur'an is to give a crown of glory to their parents in the afterlife. This shows the direction and purpose of life that is oriented towards happiness in the hereafter. The representation of other psychological functions is also seen as a desire to continue to grow to become a better person, accept strengths, weaknesses and the past, manage daily activities, have self-autonomy and establish positive relationships with others. In addition, doing murojaah can provide peace.

Abstract

This study aims to test the validity of a game-based logical reasoning test tool called the Library Game. This tool consists of eight stimuli, each representing interrelated scenarios that follow a specific pattern to address problems. Data analysis results show that the eight stimuli in the Library Game are unidimensionally valid in measuring logical reasoning constructs (n=284, chi-square=30.742, df=21, p-value=0.078, RMSEA=0.040, CFI=0.996, TLI=0.995). Furthermore, the researchers calibrated the items using Item Response Theory (IRT) 1 PL (parameter logistic). The results show that all items fit the established model. The level of item difficulty ranges from easy to moderate (-0.962 to 0.122). Therefore, this test can provide optimal information when administered to a population with an average level of logical reasoning. In conclusion, instead of conventional methods (question-answer format), valid assessment tools can be developed through innovative games.

Abstract

The Learning Agility Index (LAI) is an online assessment used to assess Fluid Intelligence, the pure intellectual speed and power evaluated by the ability to solve new problems creatively. Using a battery of five sub-tests, LAI can deliver a global trainability quotient (GTQ) indicating how well an individual performs in a training context. This study aims to analyze psychometric properties and norming for LAI. The research data comprised 28,980 subjects from the online test database for employees selection owned by PT Global Talentlytica Indonesia. The research approach used in this study is classical test theory. Psychometric property analysis utilized Cronbach's alpha reliability estimation method and collected validity evidence based on internal structure. The reliability analysis results showed that the five sub-tests had strong reliabilities with Cronbach's alpha values ranging from 0.92 to 0.97. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the measurement model of the Learning Agility Index with CFI 0.988, RMSEA 0.022, and SRMR 0.20. The intelligence levels represented by the measurement results were divided into five levels, ranging from “below average” to “far above average.” These findings prove that LAI is a reliable and valid online assessment for measuring fluid intelligence in the context of employees selection or evaluation.

Abstract

The study aims to adapt and validate the MHC-LF in Indonesia. The sample used was 315 participants (29 client group and 286 general group. Psychometric property analysis was carried out, including item analysis, reliability estimation using test-retest and internal consistency, and collecting validity evidence based on test content, internal structure, and relationships with other variables. The results showed that psychological well-being item number 10 and social well-being number 3 had insignificant loading factor values. MHC-LF reliability is high, with r= 0.85-0.94. This shows that the score produced by the MHC-LF is stable over time, and the items that compose it have internal consistency and are unidimensional. The expert panel judgment provides evidence that all MHC-LF items are relevant to measured aspects. Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the three-factor model of emotional, psychological, and social well-being. MHC-LF is positively correlated with WEMWBS and negatively correlated with BDI-II. The difference in the mean scores of each subscale and the total significantly differed between the general and client groups. The validity evidence proves that the MHC-LF is a measuring tool that measures subjective well-being. The systematic judgmental scale provides evidence that the measurement tool for the translation results is equivalent to the original version.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate an emotion regulation measurement instrument for emerging adults based on Gross's (1998) process model of emotion regulation, which encompasses five strategies: situation selection, situation modification, attentional deployment, cognitive change, and response modulation. The need for this instrument arises from the limitations of existing tools such as the ERQ and DERS, which were developed within Western cultural contexts and therefore fail to adequately capture the emotional dynamics of Indonesian individuals, whose emotion regulation is strongly shaped by social norms and local cultural values. A total of 218 emerging adults aged 18–40 years participated in this study. The instrument was developed through content validity assessment using Aiken's V index, reliability estimation using Cronbach's Alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients, and construct validity testing via Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Results showed that all 24 items obtained Aiken's V values above 0.80, confirming strong content validity. Cronbach's Alpha of 0.878 and omega of 0.882 demonstrated high internal consistency. The final CFA model after modification yielded acceptable fit indices: χ²/df = 1.340, CFI = 0.955, RMSEA = 0.040, and SRMR = 0.064. Overall, this instrument is proven valid and reliable, and is more comprehensive than Western-based tools as it measures emotion regulation across the full spectrum from anticipatory strategies to response modulation, making it a culturally relevant assessment tool and a scientific basis for designing psychological interventions for emerging adults in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the psychometric properties of a grit measurement instrument for university students in Indonesia, with a specific focus on the Bandung region. The theoretical framework conceptualized grit as comprising two core dimensions: perseverance of effort and consistency of interest. Thirty-two items were initially developed based on seven behavioral indicators and evaluated through expert judgment, language clarity tests, and item discrimination analysis. After a series of empirical tests involving 100 students for the tryout, 200 for the field test, and 40 for the test-retest, 14 items were retained based on reliability and validity criteria. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) supported the two-dimensional model with acceptable goodness-of-fit indices (RMSEA = 0.032, CFI = 0.977, TLI = 0.964, SRMR = 0.044). Internal consistency reliability was satisfactory (Cronbach's α = 0.790), and test- retest results demonstrated high temporal stability (r = 0.953, p < .001). These findings indicate that the developed grit scale is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing grit among Indonesian university students and can be applied in educational psychology research and interventions.
