Abstract

ABSTRACTSemarang is a region known for its culinary diversity and cultural heritage. The number of tourists visiting is proportional to the number of culinary and tourism industries. The city of Semarang continues to strive to increase the participation of small and medium enterprises in order to advance the region and prosper the community. The mushrooming of small and medium industries in Semarang is still not directly proportional to efforts to protect occupational safety and health for its workers. Even though work safety and health efforts are mandatory things that must be pursued both for formal and informal industries. The research aims to determine the level of risk and improve work posture with an ergonomic approach in the form of a Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) worksheet and observations in the snack and catering industry. Food processing and packaging workers have a high level of risk of experiencing muscle and bone pain because most of their work activities are sitting. The measurement results for workers in industry X show a score of 4 in the dough making section, a score of 3 in the processing section 1, a score of 4 in the processing section 2. A score of 3 in the packaging section 1, and finally a score of 4 in packaging 2. The results prove that there is no tension muscles in workers but there is discomfort in work positions that are affected by work facilities. Corrective and preventive efforts need to be pursued so that workers are able to work productively and in the future there will be no occupational diseases.

Abstract

Firefighter training aims to increase knowledge and skills regarding fire early warning systems so that participants who take part in the training are expected to have the right knowledge and attitude in rescue efforts in the event of a fire. Occupational safety and health students are able to identify and deal with fires. The training is carried out under the guidance of a firefighting instructor. This study aims to examine the effect of fire fighting training on the knowledge of students specializing in Occupational Safety and Health. This research is quantitative in nature and uses a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design without a control group. The sample in this study were 74 respondents who were selected based on total sampling. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed results (p = 0.000). These results show a difference after receiving firefighting training. The conclusion in this study is that firefighting training has an impact on knowledge related to firefighting among occupational safety and health students.

Abstract

Diperlukan intervensi mendesak meliputi: pembebasan jalur evakuasi, inspeksi APAR bulanan, pembentukan ERT, instalasi fire door, renovasi tangga darurat, dan pelaksanaan simulasi evakuasi minimal setahun sekali sesuai Permendikbud No. 33 Tahun 2019.

Abstract

Background: Ergonomic assessments in occupational safety and health are primarily based on the method of subjective observation. However, during the past two decades major technological developments have occurred, with the potential to revolutionise ergonomic evaluation methods. Methods: This bibliometric study was conducted to systematically map studies on safety design ergonomics between 2002 and 2024. Out of an initial pool of 225 articles all of them were carefully selected and analysed using VOSViewer in order to examine publication trends, geographic distribution, and the evolution of key themes. Results: Notable innovations include wearable sensors to capture real-time posture, Microsoft Kinect to record movement and automated assessments using artificial intelligence, fuzzy logic and machine learning. The advent of Industry 4.0 has led to the development of Motion Analysis Systems and digital twin technologies which encourage human-robot collaboration. The emergence of collaborative robots and exoskeletons offers encouraging ways to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Most of the research is concentrated in developed countries with many of the findings published in interdisciplinary journals. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis indicates the rapid growth in the use of AI-enabled and sensor-based ergonomic assessment tools, especially since 2018. The results indicate a shift towards ergonomics adapted for workplaces, which was not emphasised in previous studies. The successful implementation of such technologies requires addressing issues concerning costs, developing standardised procedures, and ensuring equitable access.
