Abstract

Correspondence at Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut (Politala) is currently still done manually in the vertical delivery process between work units. This manual process results in inefficiency, especially in monitoring the status of documents such as Staff Review Documents. Staff Review is a document that must be made by the department to the director as a basis for requesting assignment letters, decrees, recommendation letters and the others. These documents often require repeated checking, causing delays in the workflow. In addition, paper-based correspondence archives increase the risk of losing documents and make it difficult to find them again. Therefore, the implementation of the Correspondence Management Information System (SiMantan) is needed to improve the efficiency of the correspondence administration process by providing electronic document management and real-time status monitoring. This information system is built using the waterfall development model and designed with the Unified Modeling Language (UML) in the form of Usecase Diagrams. While the programming language used is the PHP programming language with the Code Ignitor 3 framework and MySQL database. Functional testing of the system is carried out using the black box testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) method which shows that all features in the information system function properly according to the expected specifications.

Abstract

Internal Quality Audit (IQA) is an important process to ensure the quality of implementation of activities in educational institutions in accordance with established standards. However, the implementation of IQA that is still carried out manually or semi-digitally can hamper the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy in data management and reporting of audit results. Therefore, an information system is needed that can support the audit process in a more systematic and integrated manner. This research examines the development of an internal quality audit system using the Personal Extreme Programming (PXP) approach that is carried out iteratively. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the system developed through four iterations, each of which focused on developing key features such as user management, document management, audit process, and assessment. The PXP methodology was applied to provide flexibility in responding to user feedback, with each iteration resulting in rapid improvements and adjustments according to emerging needs. The results showed that the developed system met the audit management objectives with high functionality, ease of use, and improved efficiency at each iteration. In addition, this iterative approach allows the system to be more responsive to changing user needs compared to conventional development methods. Overall, this research supports the use of PXP as an effective methodology in the development of internal quality audit systems, demonstrating that it can produce solutions that are adaptive, efficient, and suited to user needs.

Abstract

Abstract Purpose – This study examines the effect of information and communication technology (ICT) disclosure and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the digitalization process on company value. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employed the quantitative content analysis method by collecting and qualitatively analyzing data from the company website followed by quantitative data analysis. The sample of the study was 41 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021 period selected using the criteria-based sample selection method. This study used multiple regression analysis. Findings – Research results showed that ICT disclosure on the website in the digitalization process has a positive effect on company value. ICT disclosure on company websites can inform the stakeholders that the management has optimized its resources and implemented innovative business models, improving the efficiency, quality, and consistency of business processes to build a good reputation in the eyes of investors and potential investors. However, CSR disclosure on the company websites has a negative effect on company value due to some issues. Firstly, CSR information disclosed on the company's website is potentially ineffective in increasing operational profitability in the short term. Secondly, banking companies have not properly allocated CSR funds or companies have over-invested in CSR activities. Thirdly, it was found that CSR disclosure during the pandemic had no impact on stock returns. Overall, this study further showed that the disclosure of ICT and CSR complies with the principles of signaling theory because the information serves as a signal concerning the company’s condition to investors which further affects the company’s value. Practical Implications – This research provides a practical contribution for both investors and management. The investors acquire a new source of information in investment decisions making in addition to financial statements, namely such information from non-financial disclosures such as ICT and CSR through easily accessible media. Furthermore, managers gain a new perspective in understanding the potential of ICT and CSR disclosures on websites. Managers need to focus and carefully consider the concept of quality and quantity of information disclosed to the public and stakeholders since abundant information disclosure does not guarantee an increase in company value. Managers need to provide information on ICT and CSR as an approach to meet the needs of stakeholders and influence the decision-making process. Originality/Value – This study uses a banking company as the object of research, where this research is expected to assist the company in making a decision related to understanding potential of ICT and CSR disclosures that can affect firm value. Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the legal uncertainties arising from the issuance of Building Use Rights (HGB) certificates on land with Management Rights (HPL) owned by the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The lack of clarity in the National Land Agency's certificate, which does not explicitly state that the building use rights are based on land management rights, leads to confusion and a sense of deception among consumers, making this issue crucial. This issue holds significant importance as the National Land Agency's certificate, which does not explicitly state that building use rights are based on land management rights, leads to consumer confusion and feelings of deception. When consumers applied for a certificate extension 20 years after the National Land Agency issued the Certificate Extension Decision Letter, the agency abruptly retracted both the Decision Letter and the certificate. This was due to the BPN's recent realization that the land was under Land Management Rights. This research uses a normative juridical approach to analyze the legal responsibility of the National Land Agency in the issuance of certificates. The data collection technique uses document studies, while the analysis technique uses court decision studies. Research results indicate that Building Use Rights (HGB) certificates that do not specify the type of land—whether it is on state land, Land Management Rights, or ownership rights—have the potential to harm consumers and cause legal disputes. Therefore, this study recommends land policy reforms to ensure legal certainty and consumer rights protection in property transactions. Abstract

In the digital era, algorithms have assumed a mediation role historically associated with journalism, limiting and prioritizing information in a personalized manner for each user. This curation contributes to the formation of information bubbles that reinforce selection effects and potentially feed preexisting beliefs. Although it is not a consensual view, several authors believe this phenomenon increases polarization, posing significant challenges to democratic discourse and societal cohesion. This paper reflects on information bubbles in the context of Bruno Latour’s and Edgar Morin’s perspectives on the nature-culture dichotomy. Together, these perspectives help us understand the algorithmic personalization of information as a hybrid (arising from the interaction between humans and non-humans) and complex phenomenon (multidimensional, engaging various parts of knowledge), where the central role of non-human actors and the continuous interaction between the whole and the parts are evident. It is concluded that addressing the information bubbles conundrum will require: (1) abandoning simplification and reductionism, while accepting contradiction and controversies, (2) mapping and analyzing the interactions between actors, (3) conducting inter- and transdisciplinary research, and (4) developing hybrid solutions.

Abstract

Desa Jejangkit Muara is located in Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. In 2021, a flood disaster occurred, affecting 11 regencies/cities in Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Furthermore, in 2023, the forest and land fire disaster significantly increased, with indications of the burned area reaching 190,394.60 hectares. This study aims to provide training measured by knowledge and skills. This training is based on the results of a field study conducted by the Geography Study Program, Lambung Mangkurat University. Village communities receive GIS training to enhance their comprehension of disaster-prone areas and reduce the risks associated with fires and floods. This study employs the univariate method, which involves calculating the frequency of numbers using field-measured and calculated primary data. Research activities include training in introducing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapmaking, layout design, and satellite image processing using the Normalized Burn Ratio (NBR) and overlay methods. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in the participants' knowledge and skills during the SIG 1 training, with an average score of 57, compared to 66 and 69 for the first and second examiners, respectively. In SIG 2 training, the average was 63, while the skills of the first examiner were 60, and the second examiner was 50.  The results of SIG 3 training averaged 53, while the skills of the first examiner were 55 and the second examiner was 65. This study shows the importance of ongoing training to improve community disaster preparedness and resilience.
