Abstract

Information technology is essential for companies to make informed decisions that support internal business processes and external collaboration, thereby improving overall company performance. The research collected data from 105 manufacturing companies in East Java. The research sample was determined using judgmental sampling with respondents who were at least staff level and had become permanent company employees. Data analysis was used with SEM-PLS. Implementing information technology in manufacturing companies impacted internal and external supply chain integration. Internal supply chain integration, combined with internal data integration, is running smoothly and in real-time, which positively impacts cross-functional integration and does not directly affect company performance. External supply chain integration, in collaboration with external partners, is progressing well. The company is actively involved in developing these partnerships, which can lead to improved company performance, increased flexibility in meeting customer demands, and reduced production costs. Practical contributions to research provide insight for industry practitioners, enabling the internal cross-functional team to operate in an integrated manner and necessitating collaboration with external parties. Purchasing and marketing managers can play an active role in enhancing the involvement of external partners in improving company performance, making a theoretical contribution to enriching the development of information technology systems, and sustainable supply chains.

Abstract

This study employs K-Means clustering to analyze survey data from 91 university students, aiming to segment respondents based on their information-seeking behaviors (Question 2) and impact perceptions (Question 3) of artificial intelligence (AI). Two distinct clusters emerged: “Optimistic Problem Solvers,” who favor formal channels such as scholarly websites, peer-reviewed papers, and guided discussions, and express strong confidence in AI’s problem-solving capabilities with low concern for job displacement or dehumanization; and “Critical Watchers,” who rely more on informal, rapidly updated media (e.g., social platforms, general web searches) and exhibit heightened apprehension regarding AI’s socio-economic and ethical risks. Demographically, the former group skews toward sophomores with consistent GPAs and quantitatively oriented majors, while the latter displays broader disciplinary representation, balanced gender composition, and greater academic variability. These findings validate a dual-dimensional segmentation framework that integrates source behavior with perceptual orientation, highlighting the inadequacy of one-size-fits-all AI education. The study recommends differentiated instructional strategies, deep-dive, research-oriented modules for problem-solvers and trust-building, narrative-driven outreach for watchers, and outlines future research directions including larger, multi-institutional samples, longitudinal tracking, and mixed-methods approaches to refine and validate these profiles.

Abstract

This study examines how well integrated information systems can enhance user trust by addressing key aspects such as data security, ease of access, and platform reliability. Through a literature review and analysis of online data sources, the study reveals that transparent and reliable information systems foster user loyalty and strengthen the relationship between consumers and e-commerce service providers. Furthermore, the study emphasizes that trust is a critical determinant in the user decision making process, especially in a digital environment where direct interaction is minimal. Integrated systems that prioritize user experience and consistent service delivery significantly reduce uncertainty and perceived risk among users. The findings also show that when users perceive a platform as secure and responsive, their engagement levels increase, resulting in higher retention rates and positive word of mouth. This underscores the importance of continuous system evaluation, inclusion of user feedback, and proactive risk management as strategic components of information system development. In conclusion, investing in robust, user-centric information systems not only improves operational efficiency but also builds sustainable competitive advantage through fostering user trust. This study contributes to the growing discourse on digital trust and offers practical insights for e-commerce providers looking to strengthen their customer relationships through technology integration.

Abstract

Improving environmental quality in architectural design is crucial in energy efficiency, health, and comfort, directly impacting occupant productivity. In tropical regions, high exposure to solar radiation significantly contributes to increased energy consumption in the building sector, accounting for 36% of total global energy usage. Shading devices are employed as a passive strategy to minimize solar heat gain, maintain thermal comfort, and evenly distribute natural light, reducing reliance on artificial lighting. This study analyzes the impact of different louver types on daylight optimization in shading devices, designed with the same module across various scenarios (louvers at ∠90°, ∠45°, and ∠150°). The research methodology involves computational simulations based on BIM, using Autodesk Revit for prototype modeling, parameter determination, scenario setup, and the Insight Plugin for simulating daylight illuminance (lux) and daylight factor (DF). The results show that the shading device with a 90° louver angle performs optimally in meeting the daylight illuminance standard (300–3000 lux) across various representative dates, achieving a daylight factor (DF) of 3.2%, in line with global standards. The louver angle significantly influences the overall distribution of natural light. This study's limitation is its focus on a single location (Surabaya) and its restriction to three shading device scenarios.
