Abstract

This study is a literature review that examines how the COBIT 5 framework is used to assess information technology (IT) management and information systems across various businesses. The study examined 100 scholarly papers to determine how COBIT 5 domains (EDM, APO, BAI, DSS, MEA) are distributed, what combinations of domains are used, what each study aims to assess, and how well IT processes are implemented. The study results indicate that the DSS and APO domains are the most commonly used. This is due to their strong focus on IT service operations and strategic planning. Furthermore, many studies integrate two to five areas to obtain more comprehensive evaluation results. These studies examine several aspects during the evaluation, such as process capability, strategic alignment, risk management, and information systems development. However, most studies indicate that IT process capability remains at levels 1 to 3. This study can serve as a foundation for organizations and researchers to design IT management improvement strategies that are more focused and aligned with organizational goals.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is a rapidly growing technology that has been implemented in various sectors such as finance, education, the military, healthcare, and business. One form of artificial intelligence is deep learning, which has the capability to perform complex pattern recognition and decision-making using very large datasets. This capability makes deep learning one of the key technologies adopted by companies and organizations to improve their policies and enhance operational stability. However, several studies have shown that deep learning still faces significant challenges, particularly security risks that may expose sensitive business or organizational information. Therefore, in this work, we aim to address this problem and enhance the privacy protection of deep learning by incorporating differential privacy. Differential privacy is a technique that protects sensitive information by adding controlled noise to the data or model outputs, thereby reducing the risk of information leakage. We evaluate our proposed method using marketing data and implement it to 5 different models, and based on the experimental results, Our proposed method achieves its best performance using the linear regression model, yielding an RMSE of approximately 1821.30, an MAE of 1406.45, and an R² of 0.007717 for higher privacy budget. Under a lower privacy budget, the performance of the linear regression model decreases to an RMSE of 3634.24, an MAE of 2799.05, and an R² of –0.008482, yet it still outperforms the other four model approaches.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate how mnemonic methods, specifically acronyms and acrostics, affect the retention of language information among second-year BSED-ENGLISH students at a state university in Camarines Sur. The research questions focused on the effects of acronyms and acrostics on retention, the effectiveness of mnemonics in improving retention, and differences in post-test results between the comparison and experimental groups, while controlling for pre-test scores. The participants are the 37 respondents from BSED-English 2A and 33 respondents from BSED-English 2B taking the Technical Writing course. A quasi-experimental design used test questionnaires as the primary tool. Statistical methods, including frequency counts, percentages, means, and ANCOVA, were used to analyze the data, revealing significant benefits of mnemonic strategies for short- and long-term retention. The findings emphasized the importance of mnemonics in enhancing language retention. The findings revealed that students exposed to mnemonic strategies, particularly acronyms and acrostics, showed significantly higher retention than those taught through conventional methods. Post-test results indicated that 70.27% of students in the experimental group achieved very high retention, while none fell into low or very low categories. ANCOVA analysis confirmed a statistically significant difference in post-test scores between groups, with a large effect size (partial eta squared = 0.873), affirming the effectiveness of mnemonic methods in enhancing both short- and long-term retention of language information. Educators are urged to incorporate mnemonic techniques to improve retention. Future research could explore the long-term impact of mnemonics across subjects and student groups.

Abstract

Bitcoin has been a major focus of interdisciplinary research in information systems, finance, and economics since its emergence in 2008. Despite the extensive literature on Bitcoin, patterns of intellectual collaboration, the evolution of research themes, and research gaps have not been comprehensively mapped. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of 3,312 scientific articles indexed by Scopus from 2008 to May 2025, using a quantitative approach based on Bibliometrix. The analysis includes publication trends, author and institutional collaboration networks, co-citation mapping, and thematic clusters based on keywords. The results reveal five dominant themes: (1) blockchain development beyond crypto, (2) regulatory challenges and global adoption, (3) Bitcoin price volatility, (4) impacts on the global financial system, and (5) social implications in developing countries. The study also identifies an epistemological fragmentation between technical and policy approaches. These findings reinforce the need for an integrated multimodal approach that combines market data, sentiment analysis, and regulatory context to develop more robust predictive models. This study is the first comprehensive bibliometric review of Bitcoin in global scope that explicitly links findings to information systems research opportunities.
