Abstract

Digital technology development has transformed the business landscape, particularly for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), where Digital Accounting Information Systems (AIS) have become a critical tool. Digital AIS enhances operational efficiency, financial planning, and marketing, ultimately impacting revenue growth, with entrepreneur education being a crucial factor for successful adoption. This descriptive quantitative study aims to analyze the relationship and correlation direction between the implementation of digital AIS and the characteristics of SMEs in Indonesia. It utilizes panel data from the 2011-2023 SME profile surveys issued by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and data on accounting software available on the Play Store. The indicators for SME characteristics are business capital, revenue, marketing, and education. The indicators for accounting software are rating, reviews, and downloads. The data were analyzed using Spearman's non-parametric statistical test. The results indicate a significant correlation between Digital AIS adoption and business capital and marketing, but no significant correlation with revenue and education. These findings underscore the necessity to develop and promote a holistic, context-based AIS implementation model. This model should be designed with user-friendly, integrated features and support certification programs for SMEs that demonstrate high-quality AIS implementation. Abstract

Purpose of the study: Companies must ensure accurate merchandise inventory management through effective accounting information systems and robust internal control procedures. However, PT Bintang Toba Lestari continues to experience inaccuracies due to non-compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), inadequate documentation practices, and excessive reliance on staff supervision, which can compromise operational efficiency and data integrity. This study aims to analyze the merchandise inventory accounting information system and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control mechanisms implemented at PT Bintang Toba Lestari. Materials and methods: This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data were collected through structured interviews with the HRD department and several staff members involved in merchandise inventory activities. Additional insights were obtained through direct field observations and the examination of secondary data sourced from company documentation. Data analysis procedures included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results: Findings reveal that the company’s inventory recording and reporting procedures generally function effectively and align with the principles of accounting information systems. However, weaknesses were identified within the internal control structure, particularly the overlap of duties in the warehouse division, which increases the risk of errors and reduces control reliability. Furthermore, documentation practices and adherence to SOPs remain inconsistent during inventory implementation. Conclusions: While the merchandise inventory accounting information system at PT Bintang Toba Lestari is operational and largely appropriate, the internal control system requires improvement. Strengthening functional segregation, enhancing documentation procedures, and ensuring compliance with established SOPs are essential to improving inventory accuracy and internal control effectiveness.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has opened up opportunities for cybercrime, with online gambling becoming one of the deep-rooted social and legal problems in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the modes of utilization of national domain names in online gambling operations and evaluate the effectiveness of law enforcement in Indonesia, given that the use of national domains is often an attempt at pseudo-legalization and avoidance of blocking. Using qualitative methods with a normative juridical approach as well as literature study and case studies, this study focuses on applicable positive legal norms. The results show that national domains are exploited through domain hijacking, misuse of academic/government domains, and domain switching to maintain operations. Although the government has carried out massive blocking through Kominfo and PANDI, this solution is only temporary. The conclusion confirms that the most effective action is through multi-layered criminal law enforcement by the Indonesian National Police, which not only prosecutes perpetrators under the ITE Law and the Criminal Code, but also with the Money Laundering Criminal Act (TPPU), as in the 1Xbet case, which successfully seized hundreds of billions in assets and provided a deterrent effect, while also urging the need for fundamental improvements to the domain registration system and cyber surveillance by public institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Information quality, Social presence, and Financial bonds on Impulsive buying behavior in the context of live streaming commerce, mediated by Flow experience. A causal quantitative method was employed, collecting data via online questionnaires from 240 purposive respondents, users of platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee Live, and Lazada Live in Indonesia. The independent variables included Information quality, Social presence, and Financial bonds; the dependent variable was Impulsive buying behavior; and Flow experience served as the intervening variable. Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares was applied for analysis. Results indicate that Information quality significantly enhances Flow experience but does not directly drive impulsive purchases. Social presence and Financial bonds significantly influence impulsive buying directly, while Flow experience does not act as a mediator. These findings suggest that impulsive buying behavior is primarily driven by external factors such as social interaction and financial incentives, whereas Information quality enhances consumer engagement. The study offers insights for academics and business practitioners to optimize interactive features and promotional strategies in live streaming commerce.

Abstract

In the digital era, social media has become an essential tool for government institutions to effectively disseminate public information. The Secretariat of the West Sumatra Provincial Parliament (DPRD) utilizes Instagram as a communication channel with the public. However, challenges in managing Instagram content require an appropriate public relations (PR) strategy to ensure that the information shared is not only informative but also engaging and capable of reaching a broader audience. This study analyzes the PR strategy of the DPRD Secretariat in creating Instagram content using a qualitative approach through observation and literature review. The findings indicate that the success of this strategy depends on visual quality, public interaction, utilization of Instagram features, and consistency in publication. However, challenges such as low engagement and minimal responses to public comments remain obstacles that need to be addressed through content innovation and improved interaction management.
