Abstract

The Laboratory and Workshop Information System named SIABEL at Politeknik Negeri Madura has been operational since January 2024, providing five core modules: Catalogue, Usage, Procurement, Inventory Verification, and Reporting. Despite more than one year of operation, active adoption remains at approximately 40% of institutional laboratory and workshop units. This study evaluates the factors influencing system adoption using the HOT-fit (Human, Organization, Technology–fit) framework, identifies functional and structural gaps, and proposes a phased system development plan grounded in evaluation findings. Data were collected via a structured five-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 119 respondents across four role groups — Students (74.8%), Laboratory Technicians (10.9%), Laboratory and Workshop Heads (8.4%), and Supervising Lecturers (5.9%) — drawn from four academic departments. The 44-item instrument was confirmed valid (r = 0.793–0.921) and reliable across all nine HOT-fit constructs (Cronbach's ? = 0.901–0.937). Descriptive analysis shows all constructs scored in the Good category (overall means 3.74–3.83), establishing that the adoption gap is not attributable to system quality failure but to three structural conditions: a configuration mismatch between the system and the Department of Health's laboratory workflows, functional gaps that reduce the net benefit perceived by Laboratory Technicians, and weak institutional governance. A 14-initiative, three-phase development plan is proposed, prioritizing a health laboratory configuration module, an automated notification engine, and a structured onboarding program as immediate interventions.

Abstract

Many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) still manage inventory and sales records manually, resulting in recording errors, delayed reporting, and low operational efficiency. This research aims to develop a web-based Inventory and Sales Management Information System to improve MSME business processes. The system development method used is the waterfall method, including needs analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The system was developed using PHP with the Laravel framework and a MYSQL database. The system has functionality for product and stock data management, sales transaction recording, and automatic sales report generation. Inventory is updated in real time because every sales transaction or stock addition is reflected in the database. Sales reports are generated automatically from transaction data without manual recaps. Testing and implementation results show that integrating the inventory and sales modules can reduce recording errors, speed up reporting, improve operational efficiency, and provide accurate, up-to-date information to support MSME business decision-making.

Abstract

This study examines the potential role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mitigating asymmetric information in Profit-Loss Sharing (PLS) financing models within Islamic banking. Although PLS contracts such as mudarabah and musharakah embody the core Islamic finance principle of risk-sharing, their practical implementation remains limited due to moral hazard and adverse selection problems arising from information asymmetry between banks and entrepreneurs. This research aims to explore how AI technologies can enhance transparency, monitoring, and decision-making processes to strengthen the viability of PLS financing in Islamic banking. The study employs a systematic library research approach by reviewing 86 scholarly articles indexed in Scopus related to Islamic finance, asymmetric information, and AI applications in financial services. The analysis synthesizes existing theoretical and empirical insights to develop a conceptual framework illustrating how AI technologies, such as machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, and natural language processing (NLP), can support both pre-financing and post-financing processes in PLS contracts. The findings indicate that AI technologies can significantly reduce asymmetric information in PLS financing. Machine learning enhances borrower assessment and credit profiling, IoT enables real-time monitoring of financed business performance, and NLP facilitates financial reporting analysis and sharia compliance verification. These tools improve transparency, strengthen risk identification, and reduce the likelihood of adverse selection and moral hazard, thereby supporting a more sustainable and efficient Islamic banking model. This study is limited to conceptual and literature-based analysis and does not include empirical testing of AI applications in Islamic banking operations. Future research should conduct empirical studies and case-based investigations to validate the proposed framework and examine practical implementation challenges. This study contributes by integrating AI technology perspectives with Islamic finance principles to propose a conceptual framework for strengthening PLS financing. It offers new insights into how digital innovation can support the sustainability and competitiveness of Islamic banking.

Abstract

Social media are being used more and more by the general public as a means of disseminating information between people. The outbreak of the coronas virus disease mobilized researchers in a variety of disciplines, as well as the governments of the countries affected by the pandemic. The digital media have played an important role not only in disseminating information, but also in communicating about the contamination, the spread and the preventive measures against this pandemic. This study, based on social science research methods and techniques, shows that social media have played an important role in disseminating information about the pandemic. The supply and demand for information took on a dizzying pace, helping to warn people about this new disease. Social media have helped to spread information about the corona virus as quickly as possible, but they have also enabled people to learn about the disease, the risks involved and how to prevent it, all of which is helping national governments with their public health programs.

Abstract

Introduction: Maternal mortality remains a significant public health concern, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where delays in recognizing obstetric danger signs contribute to preventable complications. Adequate maternal knowledge regarding obstetric emergencies is essential for timely care-seeking. This study aimed to examine the association between health information exposure and knowledge of obstetric emergencies among pregnant women attending antenatal care services. Research Methodology: An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted at the Antenatal Care (ANC) clinic of Labuang Baji Hospital, Makassar, Indonesia, from August to September 2025. A total of 45 pregnant women were recruited using accidental sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring health information exposure (10 Likert-scale items; Cronbach’s α = 0.856) and obstetric emergency knowledge (20 true–false items; Cronbach’s α = 0.876). Descriptive statistics were used to summarize respondent characteristics. Fisher’s Exact Test and logistic regression analysis were performed to examine associations between variables. Statistical significance was set at α = 0.05. Results: Exposure to maternal health information was significantly associated with knowledge of obstetric emergencies. Pregnant women exposed to health information were nearly seven times more likely to demonstrate good knowledge compared with those who were not exposed (OR = 6.93; 95% CI: 1.18–40.55; p = 0.026). Multivariate logistic regression confirmed that information exposure remained the strongest predictor of obstetric emergency knowledge (OR = 6.96; 95% CI: 1.11–43.41; p = 0.038). Conclusion: Health information exposure plays a critical role in improving pregnant women’s knowledge of obstetric emergencies. Strengthening structured maternal health education within antenatal care services, complemented by community and digital health communication strategies, may enhance maternal awareness and support early recognition of obstetric complications
