Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education has changed how students search for information, organize academic tasks, and produce learning outputs. This study examines the utilization of AI within personal Management Information Systems and its relationship with the productivity of early-semester students. A quantitative associative design was employed using an online questionnaire completed by 102 second-semester students, most of whom were enrolled at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The independent variable measured the intensity, accessibility, and perceived efficiency of AI use, while the dependent variable represented time management, assignment quality, and speed of task completion. The research instruments met the validity and reliability requirements, and the data fulfilled the normality and linearity assumptions. ChatGPT was the most frequently used platform (83.3%), followed by Gemini AI (49%), Claude AI (20.6%), Notion AI (3.9%), and Zotero AI (3.9%). Pearson analysis produced a positive and significant correlation of 0.374, Spearman’s rho reached 0.414, and Kendall’s tau was 0.349, with significance values below 0.001. The coefficient of determination showed that AI utilization explained 14% of the variation in student productivity. These findings indicate that AI supports faster information retrieval, better task organization, and more efficient assignment completion, although productivity is also shaped by learning motivation, prior knowledge, self-regulation, and other factors outside the model. Responsible use, digital literacy, source verification, and institutional guidance are therefore necessary to ensure that AI strengthens productivity without reducing critical thinking, creativity, academic integrity, or independent learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting information system and internal control in inventory management at PT. Signal Niaga Indonesia which is located on Jl. Raya Banjarsugihan 15B. The methodology used is qualitative research with an interview, observation and documentation approach to collect data related to inventory management practices. The phenomenon identified is a lack of accuracy in the recording process which results in stock shortages and excesses. Internal control at this company is carried out through the FIFO (First In, First Out) method and monthly stock taking, as well as additional monitoring using CCTV to ensure data accuracy. Although the implemented system shows potential in improving efficiency, obstacles such as excess stock and administrative errors remain significant challenges. The results of this research conclude that to increase the effectiveness of accounting information systems and internal control, increased accuracy in recording and training for employees is needed. Recommendations for improvement include the implementation of more advanced technology and stricter procedures in inventory management.

Abstract

Earnings quality serves as a crucial indicator of the credibility of financial reporting, significantly influencing investors' decision-making, corporate valuation, and capital market efficiency. Nevertheless, the escalating pressure to meet financial performance targets, coupled with persistent information asymmetry between managers and external stakeholders, may undermine the reliability of reported earnings. This study aims to investigate the effects of performance reporting pressure and information asymmetry on earnings quality among companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Grounded in Agency Theory and Signaling Theory, the research employs a quantitative explanatory design utilizing secondary data sourced from audited annual reports and financial statements. The sample comprises non-financial firms selected through purposive sampling during the observation period from 2021 to 2025. Panel data regression analysis is utilized to evaluate the proposed hypotheses following the necessary diagnostic and model selection tests. This research is anticipated to provide empirical evidence regarding the extent to which organizational reporting pressure and information asymmetry affect the quality of corporate earnings in an emerging market context. The findings are expected to enrich the accounting literature by enhancing the understanding of earnings quality determinants and offering practical implications for regulators, investors, auditors, and corporate managers in improving financial reporting transparency and mitigating opportunistic reporting behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of internal control, organizational commitment, and information technology (IT) utilization on the quality of financial statements, with organizational culture as a moderating variable. Grounded in stewardship and task-technology fit theories, survey data were collected from 120 financial personnel across 40 Regional Work Units (SKPD) in Central Bengkulu Regency and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that internal control (β=0.231, p=0.004), organizational commitment (β=0.272, p=0.004), and IT utilization (β=0.320, p=0.001) significantly and positively affect the quality of financial statements. Furthermore, organizational culture acts as a pure moderator that significantly strengthens the impact of internal control (β=0.242, p=0.012), organizational commitment (β=0.231, p=0.003), and IT utilization (β=0.315, p=0.002). The model accounts for 88.9% of the variance in financial statement quality (R²=0.889). These findings imply that technical systems and behavioral factors produce optimal reporting outcomes when embedded within an accountability-driven institutional culture.

Abstract

Regional financial management accountability is a fundamental principle of good governance. Despite the Central Bengkulu Regency Government consistently receiving an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on its financial statements, audit findings from the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) continue to reveal weaknesses in financial management and internal control. This situation indicates that a favorable audit opinion does not necessarily reflect optimal financial accountability, underscoring the need to examine the factors influencing regional financial management accountability. This study aims to analyze the effects of government information technology utilization (e-government), human resource capacity, and the Government Internal Control System (SPIP) on regional financial management accountability in the Regional Apparatus Work Units (SKPD) of Central Bengkulu Regency. A quantitative approach was employed using a census (total sampling) technique involving all 40 SKPD, represented by 40 Financial Management Officers (PPK-SKPD). Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that human resource capacity and the Government Internal Control System (SPIP) have a positive and significant effect on regional financial management accountability, whereas the utilization of e-government has no significant effect. These findings provide empirical support for Stewardship Theory, emphasizing that competent human resources and effective internal control systems play a more substantial role in enhancing financial accountability than technology utilization alone. The findings also imply that local governments should prioritize strengthening employee competence and improving the effectiveness of SPIP while optimizing the implementation of e-government to achieve better regional financial management accountability.

Abstract

This systematic review examines how pedagogical mediation by academic librarians using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) contributes to the development of critical thinking among Library and Information Science (LIS) students at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Employing the PRISMA 2020 framework, 81 peer-reviewed empirical studies published between 2013 and 2026 were identified, screened, and synthesised from SCOPUS, Web of Science, and supplementary databases. The review is grounded in the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework of Mishra and Koehler (2006). Qualitative thematic synthesis and quantitative Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric analysis were applied to compare critical thinking skill development, ICT tool effectiveness, assessment strategies, and institutional challenges across undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and academic librarians. Results reveal that problem-based learning with ICT (? = .48, p < .001) and blended learning environments (? = .41, p < .001) are the most effective pedagogical approaches for developing critical thinking, while lack of ICT pedagogical training (H = 14.67, p < .001) and role ambiguity for academic librarians (H = 13.77, p < .001) emerge as the most significant barriers. Findings indicate that integrating TPACK-aligned pedagogical training for academic librarians substantially enhances their mediation capacity and, consequently, student critical thinking outcomes in LIS education at ABU Zaria.

Abstract

The limited implementation of Integrated Management Information Systems (IMIS) in higher education is reflected in low faculty participation, recurring data errors, and delays in academic services. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) schemes in enhancing IMIS adoption, improving service efficiency, and increasing data accuracy. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey design involving 340 academic staff selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression, independent t-test, and ANOVA. The findings reveal that post training mentoring has the most significant impact on IMIS adoption, service speed, and data accuracy, while active participation in CPD also improves motivation, digital skills, and self-confidence among academic staff. Additionally, disparities in system adoption across institutional units were identified, influenced by differences in digital readiness and institutional support. It can be concluded that successful digital transformation in higher education depends not only on system availability but also on the effectiveness of sustainable CPD strategies. The practical implications highlighting that the importance of integrating mentoring, blended learning, and communities of practice to enhance academic service quality and operational efficiency.

Abstract

Cancer-related information is widely accessible to adolescents through schools, families, social media, and their surrounding environment. However, adequate understanding has not necessarily been produced by increased access to information. In this study, adolescents' experiences of the barriers that are encountered in the accessing and understanding of cancer-related information were aimed to be explored. A qualitative study with a descriptive phenomenological approach was conducted. Eighteen Grade XII students from SMK Negeri 14 Medan were purposively selected and were participated in semi-structured interviews. The data were analysed manually using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Three main themes were identified by the analysis: (1) difficulty in the understanding of complex and diverse cancer information; (2) difficulty in the filtering and prioritising of large volumes of cancer information; and (3) difficulty in the coping with uncertainty before an adequate understanding of cancer was developed. These barriers were associated with fragmented and limited information, unfamiliar medical terminology, communication that was not tailored to adolescents' level of understanding, the broad scope of cancer-related topics, challenges in the prioritising of information, confusion in the distinguishing between symptoms, prevention, and treatment, and the perception of cancer as an inevitable death sentence. It is suggested by the findings that cancer information for adolescents should be communicated using clear, age-appropriate language, be presented progressively, be tailored to their lived experiences, be delivered by trusted sources, and be designed with consideration for adolescents' psychological needs. Valuable insights for the development of school-based cancer education programmes and adolescent-centred nursing interventions are provided by these findings.                                                                                                           Keywords: Cancer, Health literacy, Health information, Teenagers
