Abstract

Through the lens of Information Processing Theory and Regulatory Focus, this study aims to determine how information disclosure can have varying effects on distinct consumer types. This study utilized both experimental and causal approaches. Given the outcomes of the experiments conducted under highly controlled conditions, this is important. Consequently, causal research design is an option for validating experimental findings so that they can be extended. This experimental study used both between-subject and within-subject designs for data collection. A between-subjects design is used to compare participant reactions to each scenario, whereas a within-subjects design is used to compare responses to high- and low-involvement products. In this study, data collection is conducted via a manipulation check mechanism, in which most respondents grasped the scenario to be evaluated. The analysis then proceeded to the t-test and ANOVA for independent samples. Next is causal research employing the survey method, for which data is processed using AMOS and checked for goodness-of-fit. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) in the context of Information Processing Theory, which emphasizes the heuristic assessment process in consumer decision-making; (2) the use of celebrities is thought to cause excess information; and (3) this study confirms that the tendency of impulse buying behavior is different for each consumer character and that each consumer character processes information differently.

Abstract

The development of the digital information environment has made it increasingly easy for students to access and disseminate information, but this accessibility also creates a greater need to evaluate, verify, and use information responsibly. In Islamic education, information literacy should not be understood merely as a technical ability to locate information but should also be grounded in Qur’anic values that guide how individuals receive and respond to information. This study aims to analyze the concept of tabayyun in the Qur’an, particularly Q.S. Al-Hujurat [49]:6, and examine its relevance as a foundation for information literacy in contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were obtained through the examination of the Qur’an, Qur’anic commentaries, and scholarly literature related to tabayyun, information literacy, digital literacy, and Islamic education. The data were analyzed using content analysis with a thematic approach through the stages of identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that tabayyun entails not only the verification of information but also refraining from haste in accepting information, examining the credibility of sources, evaluating content and evidence, recognizing the limits of one’s knowledge, and taking responsibility for the use and dissemination of information. These findings demonstrate that tabayyun can serve as both an epistemic and ethical foundation for information literacy in Islamic education. Its application is relevant to developing students who are critical in evaluating information, cautious in drawing conclusions, and responsible in using and disseminating information

Abstract

Digital literacy is essential for pre-service biology teachers because they must locate scientific information, interpret complex biological content, judge source credibility, and use digital technologies for learning and future teaching. This study profiles four dimensions of digital literacy among pre-service biology teachers and identifies implications for teacher education. A quantitative descriptive survey involved 92 active undergraduate students in a Biology Education Study Program in Indonesia. Participants were selected using random sampling. Data were collected through a structured five-point Likert questionnaire covering information access, information comprehension, information evaluation, and the use of digital technologies in learning. The instrument underwent expert review for relevance, clarity, representativeness, and contextual suitability. Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, and categorical profiles. The combined high and very high categories reached 71.7% for information access, 88.0% for information comprehension, 67.4% for information evaluation, and 90.2% for digital technology use. Information evaluation showed the largest low and very low proportion (32.6%), indicating that critical verification remains less developed than comprehension and technology use. The findings support curriculum refinement that prioritizes critical source evaluation, information ethics, and biology-specific pedagogical integration of digital technologies.

Abstract

Aviation safety is a concern in global air transportation, where adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, high humidity, and strong winds, can disrupt flight operations and threaten passenger and crew safety. Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (SMB II) Airport in Palembang, South Sumatra, operates within a tropical climate marked by extreme humidity and frequent heavy rainfall. This study applies the interpretable Decision Tree algorithm using an information gain criterion to reproduce a multivariable weighted-scoring classification of same-day aviation weather risk and generate transparent, auditable decision rules. The study uses meteorological data from the Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), covering May 2025 to May 2026, comprising 371 daily records with five attributes: average temperature (Tāvg), relative humidity (RH_avg), rainfall (RR), wind direction (DDD_X), and wind speed (FF_avg). Risk labels were derived from a weighted-scoring system grounded in BMKG thresholds and references from the Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), yielding three classes: Safe (40.7%), Caution (39.1%), and Dangerous (20.2%). Data were split 80:20 with stratified sampling. The Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) was applied to balance the training data. The model achieved 91.89% accuracy on the test set, with perfect recall on the Dangerous class (recall = 1.00, F1-score = 0.94). Because four of the five attributes are also used to construct the scoring labels, this accuracy primarily reflects the Decision Tree model's ability to reproduce the scoring structure rather than independently validating against actual operational risk.

Abstract

Private schools in Tapanuli Tengah Regency face significant challenges in maintaining operational sustainability, particularly after the flash floods and landslides of November 2025, which reduced tuition revenue, disrupted teaching and learning activities, and weakened public trust in schools. This study aims to examine the effect of budgetary participation and accounting information systems on school operational sustainability, and to examine the moderating role of financial resilience on both relationships. The study employs a quantitative, associative research design. The population consists of all private senior and vocational high schools in Tapanuli Tengah Regency, using census sampling that involved the principal, treasurer, and one teacher representative from each school as respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results show that budgetary participation and accounting information systems have a positive and significant effect on school operational sustainability. Financial resilience was found to moderate and strengthen the effects of both variables, with a stronger moderating role in the relationship between accounting information systems and sustainability than in the relationship involving budgetary participation. These findings indicate that a school's financial resilience determines the extent to which these factors can support operational continuity, particularly in disaster-prone areas. This study contributes theoretically to management accounting and educational-sector accounting studies, and practically to schools and local government in formulating financial policies that support school operational sustainability after natural disasters.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Promotion Strategy and Information Quality on New Student Interest through Interactive Social Media at Nuku Tidore University. The novelty of this research lies in the placement of Interactive Social Media as a mediating variable in the relationship between Promotion Strategy and Information Quality with New Student Interest in the context of Nuku University. The research used a quantitative approach with 70 Nuku University students from the class of 2025 as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and the Sobel Test. The results showed that Promotion Strategy had no significant effect on New Student Interest and also had no significant effect on Interactive Social Media. Information Quality has a positive and significant effect on New Student Interest and Interactive Social Media. Interactive Social Media has a positive and significant effect on New Student Interest. Mediation testing shows that Interactive Social Media does not mediate the relationship between Promotion Strategy and New Student Interest, while Interactive Social Media partially mediates the relationship between Information Quality and New Student Interest. This study is limited to students in the class of 2025 at Nuku University, so generalizations to other universities need to be done carefully. The implication is that managing information that is up-to-date, consistent, easy to understand, and supported by social media interactions is a relevant aspect in new student admissions communications.
