Abstract

Abstract. Disaster management requires accurate, reliable, and timely information to support effective decision making, particularly during emergency response situations. This study evaluates selected dimensions of DMIS implementation success - System Quality, Information Quality, User Satisfaction, and Decision-Making Effectiveness at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah - BPBD) of Langsa City. Purpose: This study evaluates whether System Quality and Information Quality are associated with Decision-Making Effectiveness directly and through User Satisfaction in the implementation of a Disaster Management Information System. Methods/Study design/approach: A quantitative approach was employed involving 35 employees of BPBD Langsa City who use disaster-management information systems. A saturated sampling technique was applied because the entire population was included as respondents. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The analysis consisted of measurement model evaluation and structural model evaluation. Result/Findings: The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability, with all outer loading values exceeding 0.70, composite reliability values ranging from 0.908 to 0.937, and Average Variance Extracted values ranging from 0.665 to 0.749. System Quality had a positive and significant effect on Decision-Making Effectiveness (β = 0.362; t = 2.779; p = 0.009). Information Quality had a positive but non-significant effect (β = 0.245; t = 1.710; p = 0.096), while User Satisfaction also showed a positive but statistically non-significant effect at the 5% significance level (β = 0.317; t = 2.021; p = 0.051). The model explained 54.6% of the variance in Decision-Making Effectiveness. Novelty/Originality/Value: This study extends the application of the DeLone and McLean IS Success Model to the public-sector disaster-management context by positioning Decision-Making Effectiveness as the organizational outcome of Disaster Management Information System implementation and User Satisfaction as a mediating construct.

Abstract

Purpose: Repetitive academic inquiries and substantial linguistic variation in informal Indonesian student messages can reduce the consistency and timeliness of university information services. This study develops and evaluates an academic chatbot for student information services at Universitas Bina Darma through WhatsApp. Methods/Study design/approach: An applied engineering-research approach was employed. An exploratory questionnaire involving 100 active students was used to identify dominant information needs and representative query expressions, while verified institutional documents were used separately to construct controlled service responses. The implemented architecture integrates Baileys as the WhatsApp messaging gateway, Node.js/Express as the orchestration layer, Dialog flow ES for intent and entity recognition, and MySQL for conversation logging and monitoring. The final agent contains 129 custom intents, 22 entities, and 2,572 training-phrase entries. An operational confidence threshold of 0.70 was applied to route uncertain inputs to fallback handling. Evaluation was conducted at four layers: 13 black-box functional scenarios, 24 intent cases representing major service families and out-of-scope input, 15 response-conformity cases, and six end-to-end integration scenarios. Result/Findings: All black-box scenarios produced the expected outputs. Intent agreement reached 95.83%, response conformity reached 86.67%, and all integration scenarios were successful. The difference between intent agreement and response conformity indicates that correct intent recognition does not necessarily guarantee an equally specific or institutionally appropriate answer when response coverage is incomplete. Novelty/Originality/Value: The contribution of this study is therefore positioned as applied system engineering rather than a new NLP algorithm. It demonstrates a deployable, confidence-controlled architecture that separates informal-query recognition from verified institutional delivery and evaluates recognition, answer conformity, and technical integration as distinct quality dimensions. Broader intent coverage, human-user evaluation, threshold calibration, load testing, and dynamic integration with institutional information systems remain necessary for wider deployment.

Abstract

Although Single Sign On (SSO) simplifies access to Human Capital Management Information Systems (HCMIS), Employee Self Service (ESS) adoption remains a challenge in many organizations. This study aims to develop a machine learning framework for predicting ESS adoption and SSO usage and identifying the factors that influence employee digital engagement. A quantitative experimental approach was applied to a simulated dataset of 3,000 employee records containing demographic, behavioral, and system utilization variables. Data preprocessing included missing value imputation, categorical encoding, normalization, an 80:20 training and testing split, and SMOTE to address class imbalance. Eight classification models were evaluated using Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1 score, and AUC ROC. The results show that SMOTEBoost achieved the best performance, with an Accuracy of 0.924, F1 score of 0.908, and AUC ROC of 0.956, followed by RUSBoost with an F1 score of 0.901 and AUC ROC of 0.951, and Balanced Random Forest with an F1 score of 0.897 and AUC ROC of 0.947. ESS Login Frequency, SSO Usage Frequency, and Training Participation were the strongest predictors of adoption. The proposed framework complements technology adoption perspectives such as TAM and UTAUT by moving beyond survey based explanations of perceptions and intentions toward predictive analysis using observable system utilization and behavioral data. This approach enables organizations to identify employees with lower adoption potential earlier and provide more targeted managerial interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationships among parental support, learning motivation, information access, and students' interest in pursuing undergraduate education. A quantitative, causal-associative design was used, involving 189 twelfth-grade students from two public senior high schools. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire measuring parental support, learning motivation, information access, and educational interest. The researchers analyzed the data using descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and path analysis to examine direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings show that parental support is significantly related to educational interest (R² = 0.077) and information access (R² = 0.029), while learning motivation is related to educational interest (R² = 0.024) and information access (R² = 0.420). Information access relates significantly to educational interest (R² = 0.265) and mediates the relationships between parental support and learning motivation and educational interest, with indirect effects of 6.7% and 20.7%, respectively. The model also explains 16.0% of the variance in educational interest. The study concludes that educational aspirations emerge through interconnected familial, motivational, and informational factors. Schools should strengthen career guidance, information services, and parent collaboration to support informed higher education planning.

Abstract

Pasirkaliki Village is one of the government agencies located in North Cimahi District, Cimahi City, that requires an information system for the right solution in disseminating information both for the Pasirkaliki community itself and for other wider communities. One of the information that must be conveyed to the Pasirkaliki community is information about population data, especially in terms of the number of residents, number of births, number of deaths, number of residents who moved, number of migrants, and the number of low-income families living in Pasirkaliki sub-district., While the information that can be conveyed to other wider communities is about the number of residents, the number of disadvantaged residents, and data about the population of Pasirkaliki sub- district. The information system in Pasirkaliki Village has been manually, namely through handwriting, and stored in a book so that it has the risk of being lost, forgotten, and damaged. Data handling like this makes the level of data security less, and time processing data are inefficient. With the information system, it will make it easier for village employees to store population data so that existing risks can be minimized. And with a population information system, Pasirkaliki Village can convey information about population data to the community and agencies that need it.

Abstract

Nonprofit organizations require reliable financial information to maintain transparency, accountability, and internal control; however, limited resources often constrain the adoption of accounting technologies. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of an accounting information system at the SABATU Foundation in West Kalimantan, identify the software and recording mechanisms used, and examine internal control practices through the perspectives of the COSO framework, agency theory, and contingency theory. A qualitative case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with financial administrators, the treasurer, the foundation director, and personnel from operational units, supported by observations and documentation of operating procedures, financial reporting formats, and transaction records. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the foundation used Microsoft Excel as its primary accounting medium, with transactions centrally recorded by the financial administration unit after supporting documentation was collected. This system supported structured data management and financial reporting processes. However, operational units continued to rely on manual recording methods, including transaction slips, expense records, and verbal reports, resulting in limited system integration. Internal controls were implemented through transaction authorization, expenditure recording, verification procedures, and supervisory reviews. The study concluded that the Excel-based accounting information system adequately supported the foundation’s operational needs; however, improved recording integration is required to enhance efficiency, consistency, transparency, and accountability.
