Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the management methods applied in combining the general and religious curricula at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al Hikam with the hope of achieving the vision of developing a Qur'anic Generation. The Qur'anic Generation is defined as students who not only excel in modern science and technology, but also have spiritual depth, good morals, and are able to apply the values of the Qur'an and Hadith in their daily lives. This study used a qualitative method with a case study at MTs Al Hikam, involving in-depth interviews with the head of the madrasah, teachers, and direct observation of the teaching and learning process. The findings of this study reveal that integration is carried out through three main aspects: (1) Curriculum Integration (thematic syllabus that links general material with religion), (2) Learning Integration (integrated tahfiz method and contextual teaching), and (3) Cultural Integration (daily worship habits and role models from teachers). The role of the madrasah principal as a transformational leader is crucial to maintaining the continuity and consistency of this integration program. Effective implementation of this integration management has been proven to have a positive impact on students' academic and spiritual competency achievements.

Abstract

The success of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning depends not only on the creativity of teachers in the classroom, but also on the extent to which the principal's management is able to organize resources, provide infrastructure that supports a religious atmosphere, and conduct ongoing supervision. Without effective management implementation from the principal—whether as a manager, supervisor, or motivator—Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in vocational schools risks becoming trapped in mere administrative fulfillment without addressing the substantive aspects of character building. This qualitative research, using a case study at SMK PGRI 15 Jakarta, aims to analyze the principal's strategies for improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning within the vocational school. The results indicate that improving the quality of PAI is achieved through four key management functions: planning integrated into the School Operational Curriculum (KOS), organization through the formation of a religious development team, and implementation, which includes academic supervision, the use of digital technology, and the implementation of a hidden curriculum through the promotion of religious practices. Furthermore, monitoring and evaluation are conducted periodically to maintain the relevance of learning methods. This study concludes that the principal's multifunctional role as educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, and motivator (EMAS-M) is key to creating an adaptive PAI learning ecosystem capable of shaping students' religious character amidst the demands of vocational competencies.

Abstract

Cross-cultural empathy is a culture that must be built within multicultural schools, not merely used as a slogan, but rather as a culture. However, the problem arises that schools remain conventional and struggle to implement Child-Friendly Schools, inadvertently depriving children of their rights. This study aims to analyze the implementation of cross-cultural empathy development in realizing inclusive, child-friendly schools. The research approach used was a qualitative case study design, which utilized the reflective experiences of teachers, students, and school administrators as sources of meaning. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results indicate that cross-cultural empathy development is implemented through the integration of empathy values into the learning process, dialogic relationships between teachers and children, and the formation of a school culture that upholds respect for differences within their world. Teachers act as facilitators, fostering ethical awareness and mutual understanding through participatory learning experiences that support the learning process. Child-friendly schools are realized when cross-cultural empathy becomes a lived value that creates a safe, humane school climate that respects children's rights.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of academic needs and learning motivation on students' level of laptop dependency, with intensity of use serving as a mediating variable. In the era of digital transformation, laptops have become primary instruments in higher education, massively influencing academic behavior. This research employs a quantitative approach using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) via AMOS 24 software. The research population consists of 200 Industrial Engineering students at STT Wastukancana, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the data analysis indicate that digital academic needs and intrinsic learning motivation have a positive and significant influence on the intensity of laptop use. Furthermore, intensity of use is proven to be a strong mediator ($p < 0.05$) in forming students' academic dependency. The structural model developed in this study is capable of explaining 70% of the variance in the academic dependency variable. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of digital literacy management and the provision of supporting infrastructure by educational institutions to mitigate the psychological risks of excessive technological dependency.

Abstract

This research focuses on the Benfomeni Kapan Vocational High School, located in North Mollo District, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The educational context in NTT, particularly in areas like TTS, often faces specific challenges, including limited resources and geographical conditions. The culture within a school will shape teachers to create quality learning. However, in practice, there are still some teachers who have not maximized this learning. This qualitative study using a case study method focused on examining the influence of school organizational behavior (including leadership, culture, communication, motivation, and teamwork) on teacher learning innovation at SMTK Benfomeni Kapan. Teacher innovation is a vital indicator in the context of Christian education, which must adapt to changes in curriculum and technology. The results of the study indicate a strong relationship: positive and participatory organizational behavior oriented towards human resource development has been shown to significantly increase teacher creativity and learning innovation. Meanwhile, a rigid organizational environment, closed communication, and lacking structural support tend to hinder teachers' innovative efforts. This research, which uses data from in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, is expected to guide management improvements and enhance the quality of education at SMTK.

Abstract

The research focused on the strategies of schools and educators in linking the principles of the Independent Curriculum to improve students' vocational skills readiness in accordance with the context of religious schools. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive study approach, enabling researchers to gain a deep understanding of the phenomenon under study. The research subjects included the principal, teachers, and students of SMTK Benfomeni Kapan who were directly involved in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Data collection techniques were carried out through field observations and documentation studies. The results showed that the adaptation of the Independent Curriculum at SMTK Benfomeni Kapan was realized through the implementation of differentiated learning, project-based learning, and the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) integrated with religious values. These strategies contributed positively to the development of students' vocational competencies, particularly in aspects of independence, cooperation, creativity, and practical skills relevant to the needs of life and service. However, this study also found obstacles in aspects of teacher pedagogical competency and learning management, especially related to diagnostic assessment and systematic vocational learning planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze conflict resolution strategies in developing dormitory culture at PKP Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Kota Baru District, Jambi Province. Conflicts in the dormitory arise due to differences in character, academic ability, habits, socio-cultural backgrounds, and psychological pressure experienced by the students. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and related written documents. The findings indicate that conflicts in the dormitory environment are influenced by emotional factors, differences in academic ability, socio-cultural backgrounds and habits, as well as psychological pressure resulting from the boarding school’s disciplinary system. Conflict resolution strategies are implemented systematically through stages of conflict identification, persuasive and educational approaches, mediation, the application of guidance-oriented regulations, the reinforcement of Islamic values, and evaluation and follow-up. These strategies have proven effective in reducing conflict while simultaneously fostering a harmonious, disciplined dormitory culture grounded in Islamic values. This study affirms that conflict resolution in Islamic boarding schools is not solely oriented toward problem-solving, but also serves as a means of character education and continuous social development for students.

Abstract

The Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject in junior high schools is often perceived as boring and gains low student interest due to its emphasis on memorizing historical figures, dates, and events. Integrating LCD projector-based learning technology is expected to make learning more visually engaging and thereby increase students’ interest. This study aims to examine the influence of using LCD projector media on students’ learning interest in SKI at SMP Al-Islam 1 Surakarta in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach. A sample of 69 eighth-grade students was selected via proportional random sampling from a population of 222 students. Data were collected using questionnaires on the frequency and quality of teachers’ LCD projector usage (independent variable X) and on students’ interest in learning SKI (dependent variable Y). The results showed that the level of LCD projector usage was in the moderate category (on average 63.77% of the maximum score) and students’ learning interest was also moderate (63.77%). Pearson product-moment correlation testing yielded r = 0.976 with p = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a very strong and significant positive relationship between LCD projector use and students’ learning interest. The use of LCD media accounted for 95.2% of the variance in learning interest (R² = 0.952). In conclusion, the utilization of LCD projector-based learning technology has a positive and significant effect on enhancing students’ interest in learning SKI. Teachers are advised to further innovate in using LCD media with varied and active learning methods so that learning becomes increasingly engaging and participatory.
