Abstract

Objective: This study aims to design and conduct an initial evaluation of a web-based digital campus residential service system at Andalas Residence, Universitas Andalas, as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and educational support service quality in higher education. Methods: This applied research used a mixed-methods approach. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations to identify service problems, while quantitative data were obtained through a resident satisfaction questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale (n=100) as baseline data prior to system implementation. Results: The main problems in campus residential services were low responsiveness (mean=2,7) and reliability (mean=2,9), caused by non-integrated manual systems. A web-based digital residential service system was developed integrating residential administration, real-time complaint reporting, facility monitoring, and an operational dashboard for management. Functional testing shows that the system performs all main functions according to operational requirements. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in evaluating an integrated digital campus residential service system from the perspective of educational support service management rather than solely from a technical information systems perspective.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the ineffectiveness of the Teacher Professional Development Program (PPG) through academic supervision in the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0, where the digital competence of Indonesian teachers only reaches 35% due to conventional supervision methods. The main objectives include identifying the current academic supervision model, evaluating its effectiveness using the POAC framework, and providing recommendations for adaptive education management. Methods: This library research analyzed 138 journal articles from 2021-2026 through content analysis to explore trends in academic supervision and the integration of Society 5.0 technology. Results: Findings show that PPG evaluation only reaches 70% field application, 27% digital supervision, and 19% Industry 5.0 adoption. The stagnation of teachers' digital competence is caused by dependence on conventional approaches. Novelty: This study introduces the POAC-Society 5.0 synthesis for a blended supervision model, with a three-year roadmap targeting a teacher competency index of 85%. This approach is an original contribution to adapting education management in the digital era in Indonesia.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the management of interpersonal communication between kiai and students in developing students’ character in Islamic boarding schools, as well as to examine the process of internalizing Islamic religious education values through such communication within the context of contemporary Islamic education. Method: This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving kiai, boarding school administrators, and students as research participants. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing in a systematic and continuous manner. Results: The findings indicate that interpersonal communication between kiai and students occurs through both formal and informal patterns that are not yet systematically structured, yet significantly contribute to the development of students’ religious character, discipline, responsibility, and moral values. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in positioning interpersonal communication as a managerial instrument within Islamic boarding schools that functions as an integrative bridge between educational management and Islamic religious education in fostering holistic and sustainable character development among students.

Abstract

A principal's leadership style is a crucial factor influencing teacher performance. Effective leadership can motivate teachers to deliver better performance. Not all principals are able to adapt their leadership style to different situations and conditions. As a result, the leadership style applied is ineffective in motivating and improving teacher performance. This study aims to describe the implementation of the principal's leadership style and its implications for teacher performance at Belle II Public Elementary School. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects included the principal and teachers of Belle II Public Elementary School. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the principal implemented a democratic, participatory, and situational leadership style. The implementation of this leadership style had a positive impact on teacher performance, as seen from increased discipline, responsibility, creativity, and the quality of learning. Thus, the principal's leadership style has an important role in improving teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the manifestations of exemplary behavior among Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in Quran instruction and its impact on the transformation of students’ learning motivation at the Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon within the natural context of the boarding school. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary analysis, and was subsequently analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that teachers’ exemplary behavior manifests in three main dimensions: religious discipline, quality of Quranic literacy (fashahah and tajwid), and moral integrity in pedagogical interactions. This exemplary behavior functions as a living curriculum that shapes the process of value identification and internalization within the students. The findings also reveal a shift in learning motivation from an extrinsic orientation toward a more autonomous and reflective intrinsic motivation. This transformation is indicated by increased self-initiated learning, consistent independent revision (muraja’ah), and deeper emotional engagement in memorization activities.This study concludes that teacher exemplary behavior is a transformative foundation in building sustainable motivation for learning the Qur’an, thus requiring systemic support among Islamic boarding schools, families, and the strengthening of digital literacy.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the implementation of the Al-Qosimi method and its effect on students’ Qur’an memorization ability in Grade VII at MTs Baitun Najah Karanganyar.  Method: A quantitative correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 29 seventh-grade students. Data on Al-Qosimi method implementation were collected using a 15-item questionnaire, while memorization ability was taken from tahfidz performance documentation. Instrument testing indicated all items were valid and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.949). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation, Spearman correlation (as a non-parametric reinforcement), and simple linear regression. Results: Pearson correlation showed a negative low relationship (r = –0.263; Sig. = 0.167), indicating no statistically significant association between the Al-Qosimi method and memorization ability. Spearman’s rho also showed a very weak negative relationship (ρ = –0.039; Sig. = 0.841). Regression results confirmed the non-significant effect (t = –1.419; Sig. = 0.167) with the model Y = 93.915 – 0.284X. Implications: The findings imply that improving Qur’an memorization outcomes may require strengthening supporting factors beyond the method itself, such as students’ motivation, consistency of muroja’ah at home, baseline reading proficiency, and structured monitoring.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of training on the success of the Sustainable Livelihood program through the role of mediation of readiness to change as well as the moderation of individual character and government support in assisted communities around Gunung Palung National Park, North Kayong Regency. Methods: The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data was collected through a questionnaire to 62 respondents of community members assisted by the Sustainable Livelihood program and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 4.0. Results: The results showed that training had a positive and significant effect on readiness to change, and readiness to change had a positive and significant effect on the success of the Sustainable Livelihood program. Individual character was also shown to positively moderate the relationship between readiness to change and program success, whereas government support did not show a significant moderation effect. These findings contribute to the development of conservation-based community empowerment literature by showing that the success of Sustainable Livelihood programs is not only determined by training, but also by the readiness of individuals to adopt change.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, as residential Islamic educational institutions, possess unique social and psychological dynamics. Students at the Madrasah Aliyah (MA) level are in the adolescent developmental phase, a time when they are vulnerable to emotional, social, academic, and career-related issues. The purpose of this study is to identify the needs and services related to guidance and counseling in Islamic boarding schools at the Madrasah Aliyah level. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at eight MA Islamic boarding schools in Banten Province. Data were collected through in-depth structured interviews with boarding school leaders and administrators, observations, and the distribution of questionnaires to students. Data analysis was conducted through thematic reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing. The results indicate that guidance and counseling services in the boarding schools function effectively through the care system, although most do not yet have dedicated spaces or professional counselors. The range of services includes religious value-based orientation, structured information services, interest-based placement, remedial learning support, responsive individual counseling. These findings underscore the need to strengthen the professionalization and standardization of structured, documented, and needs-based guidance and counseling services, without undermining the boarding school’s values as the foundation of student development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the campus environment and emotional intelligence on the learning motivation of students in the Educational Administration Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Jambi. The study employed a quantitative research design using a survey approach. The population for this study consisted of all students in the Educational Administration Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Jambi, comprising the 2022–2025 cohorts, with a total sampling technique. Data were collected via a distributed questionnaire, and data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the campus environment has a positive and significant influence on students’ learning motivation with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a T-statistic value of 5.578 > 1.96. (2) emotional intelligence has a positive and significant influence on students’ learning motivation with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a T-statistic of 6.635 > 1.96. (3) Simultaneously, the campus environment and emotional intelligence influence student learning motivation. These findings indicate that the campus environment and emotional intelligence play a crucial role in enhancing the learning motivation of students

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the C3T method (Smart, Careful, Fast, and Precise) in improving student learning activity in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects in grade V of SDN 007 Limbur Merangin. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which is implemented in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 18 grade V students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and student learning activity questionnaires, while data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively. The results of the study showed that the application of the C3T method can significantly improve student learning activity. In the pre-cycle stage, the percentage of student learning activity was 39,89% with a poor category. After the implementation of the C3T method in the first cycle, it increased to 68,82%, categorized as good, and in the second cycle, it increased again to 89,65%, categorized as very good. Thus, the C3T method has proven effective in increasing student learning activity in science lessons and is able to create a more active, competitive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
