Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation strategy of the Research-Based Learning Program at MA Model Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo and to analyze its impact on strengthening the school’s academic ecosystem and students’ competency development. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum, research supervisors, and students as research subjects. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the Research-Based Learning Program is implemented systematically through academic literacy habituation, integration of minor research into classroom learning, tiered research implementation each semester, project-based and product-based learning approaches, multi-aspect-based assessment, and appreciation through research competency graduation schemes. This program has a positive impact on strengthening the school’s academic culture, enhancing teacher professionalism, and developing students’ competencies in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study recommends strengthening collaboration with higher education institutions and conducting continuous evaluation to ensure the sustainability and quality of the research program in schools.

Abstract

Student discipline issues remain a challenge in the management of vocational high schools. Various violations indicate that a punishment-based disciplinary approach has not been effective in fostering sustainable disciplined behavior. Therefore, an educational strategy is needed through guidance and counseling services integrated with a restorative approach. This study aims to analyze the management of guidance and counseling services in addressing student discipline issues and to examine the implementation of a restorative approach at State Vocational High School 1 Sarirejo. The method used in this study is qualitative, employing a case study approach through observation and interviews with the school principal, guidance and counseling teachers, and students. The results of this study indicate that service management is implemented through planning based on student needs, the application of a restorative approach through counseling, dialogue, and mediation, as well as evaluation through monitoring behavioral development and case documentation. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of guidance and counseling service management with restorative practices as a humanistic and participatory model of discipline development.

Abstract

Child-friendly education is a crucial issue in the management of Islamic educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), given the complexity of the relationships between care, learning, and the lives of students in a boarding system. This study aims to describe the management of Islamic boarding schools in developing child-friendly education at the Alhayatul Islamiyah Kedungkandang Islamic Boarding School in Malang City. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects included the boarding school's caretakers, administrators, ustadz/ustadzah (Islamic teachers), and students who were selected purposively. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis employed an interactive model encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that Islamic boarding school management in developing child-friendly education is carried out through planning child-protection-oriented care programs, implementing humanistic parenting patterns, strengthening educator professionalism, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. This study concludes that the success of child-friendly education in Islamic boarding schools is largely determined by managerial commitment, the exemplary behavior of caregivers, and an institutional culture that upholds Islamic and humanitarian values.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze how Islamic values-based management shapes the planning and implementation of a mass circumcision program in Werinama, Maluku, while also identifying the socio-cultural determinants that influence community participation. The research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through participant observation throughout the entire program cycle, semi-structured interviews with committee members, religious leaders, customary leaders, and parents, as well as a review of supporting documents. Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis, while trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation, audit trails, and member checking. The findings reveal that community participation was influenced by three major determinants: political trust and perceptions of program politicization (42%), social prestige that frames circumcision as a symbol of status (28%), and expectations surrounding customary rituals (22%). From a managerial perspective, the program’s strengths were reflected in stakeholder mapping, clear task distribution, multi-channel communication, and post-procedure monitoring. However, a mismatch between program design and the ceremonial expectations of some families reduced social acceptance.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that play an important role in shaping a generation with noble character and a strong understanding of religion. In addition to emphasizing religious learning, Islamic boarding schools also function as centers for character building through various structured religious activities. One such activity is the keputrian program, which aims to increase Islamic understanding and shape the religious character of female students. This study aims to analyze the management of women's activities at the Hasanka Islamic Boarding School in Palangka Raya, focusing on the functions of planning and implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the planning of women's activities is carried out through deliberations by the teachers' council, which includes determining objectives, preparing materials, learning methods, and scheduling activities. The activities are carried out routinely every Saturday morning through lectures, question and answer sessions, and worship practices accompanied by evaluations to measure the female students' understanding on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the challenges faced by teachers in implementing classroom management in the learning process in Class IV.B of State Elementary School 03 Nabire. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type to understand the phenomenon contextually in the elementary school environment. The research subjects consisted of the homeroom teacher of class IV.B as the main informant and the principal as a supporting informant. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers face two main challenges in classroom management, namely the diversity of student characteristics that affect behavior, discipline, and learning participation, and differences in student academic abilities that cause gaps in material understanding. Teachers have made various efforts such as implementing varied learning strategies, providing motivation, and individual guidance to overcome these challenges. The novelty of this study lies in the specific study revealing the dynamics of teacher challenges in classroom management in elementary schools in the Nabire area, which have unique social and learning characteristics. This research provides both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of more adaptive and effective classroom management strategies.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media in the digital era has generated various new phenomena influencing the behavior of young people, one of which is the phenomenon of brainrot. This term refers to the excessive consumption of fast-paced, repetitive, and shallow entertainment content that may affect individuals’ concentration, self-control, and moral awareness. Digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube continuously provide short and visually stimulating content, encouraging uncontrolled scrolling behavior that may reduce reflective thinking and interest in meaningful activities. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of brainrot as a moral challenge for Muslim youth in the digital era. The major focus of this research is the phenomenon of brainrot in social media usage, while the minor focus examines its impact on the moral and ethical behavior of Muslim adolescents. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method by examining various scholarly sources, including academic journals, books, and Islamic literature, particularly the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ as a normative foundation. The findings indicate that the brainrot phenomenon has the potential to weaken moral awareness, shift time priorities, and encourage unproductive digital consumption habits. From an Islamic perspective, such conditions contradict teachings that emphasize responsibility, self-discipline, and the wise use of time.

Abstract

Public demand for fast, transparent, and accountable services has encouraged educational institutions to innovate their administrative systems. One such innovation is the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP), which centralizes various administrative services in a single unit to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This study aims to analyze PTSP management in improving administrative service quality at MAN Kota Palangka Raya using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head of administration, PTSP officers, and service users. The results show that PTSP management is implemented through planning, organizing, and implementing service stages integrated into one unit. The novelty lies in developing a PTSP management model integrating management functions, service excellence ethics (5S principles), and administrative digitalization in the madrasah context. The study reveals the interrelationship between service governance, officer behavior, and technology use in improving public education service quality, producing empirical findings of increased service time efficiency and user satisfaction as PTSP management success indicators in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Literacy Ambassador Program at SMP Negeri 4 Surabaya as a strategic effort to enhance students' reading interest. Reading interest is a crucial indicator of educational quality and literacy culture at the junior high school level. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study. The findings reveal that the program, implemented through three flagship activities, significantly impacts students' reading interest. First, L-Box provides easy, varied, and engaging access to reading materials for all school members. Second, Book Review activities stimulate discussion skills and foster critical thinking. Third, the Literacy Wall Magazine serves as a creative expression space and an innovative information source. A structured coaching system also intensively and continuously supports students' competency development. Habituating a reading culture encompassing discipline, perseverance, effective communication, and teamwork contribute to shaping students' positive attitudes. This study confirms that integrating the Literacy Ambassador Program, a continuous coaching system, and a strengthened school literacy culture effectively increases students' reading interest at SMP Negeri 4 Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of change leadership, deep learning, and school climate on senior high school students’ learning motivation in Papua Tengah. This research employed a quantitative associative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of Grade XI students from three senior high schools in Nawaripi Timika, Papua Tengah. A total of 254 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 22. The findings reveal that change leadership has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning motivation. Deep learning has a highly significant effect and emerges as the most dominant predictor. School climate does not show a significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, change leadership, deep learning, and school climate have a significant effect on students’ learning motivation. This study offers an integrated empirical model that combines change leadership, deep learning, and school climate within a single analytical framework in the context of Papua Tengah, an underrepresented region in educational research, thereby contributing to the development of educational management literature in geographically diverse settings.
