Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of academic supervision by madrasah principals in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages; and to identify the obstacles faced by teachers in the academic supervision process at an elementary madrasah. Methods: The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design in an elementary madrasah in Bandar Lampung City. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with madrasah principals, teachers, and supervisors, as well as studies of planning documents and supervision instruments, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Result: The results of the study indicate that academic supervision has been planned in a scheduled manner, but its implementation in the field is still administrative-formalistic, classroom observations are short and rarely followed by in-depth reflective coaching, and follow-up of supervision results has not been systematically documented. The quality of the learning process in the planning aspect is quite good, but in the implementation and assessment aspects of authentic learning still varies between teachers. The main obstacles faced by teachers include the principal's limited time, the high administrative burden of class teachers on thematic learning, gaps in understanding of supervision instruments, and a tendency for unnatural teaching performance during supervision.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines educational management transformation in implementing digital education innovation at SMP Mutiara Bunda Bandung City and SMP Telkom Bandung Regency using the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) Framework to identify how technological, organizational, and environmental factors influence digital transformation. Methods: This qualitative study employed a multiple case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, focus group discussions, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and cross-case analysis. Results: The findings indicate that SMP Telkom demonstrates stronger digital system integration, technology standardization, and structured digital leadership, while SMP Mutiara Bunda emphasizes organizational flexibility through participatory leadership and an adaptive digital culture. Environmental support and institutional characteristics significantly influence each school's transformation strategy. Novelty: This study extends the TOE Framework by proposing a TOE-Based Educational Digital Management Transformation Model comprising four stages: digital awareness, digital adaptation, digital integration, and digital innovation and sustainability, highlighting that successful digital innovation depends on integrated management transformation rather than technology adoption alone.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has required teachers to implement innovative learning practices to enhance the quality of education, including in Qur’an-Hadith subjects at Islamic schools (madrasahs). This study aimed to describe the forms of innovation employed by Qur’an-Hadith teachers, analyze the implementation of these innovations in the learning process, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at MA Plus Riyadlul Muta’allimin. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving Qur’an-Hadith teachers, the school principal, and students. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data trustworthiness was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings revealed that learning innovations were implemented through the utilization of digital media and educational games, such as Canva, Quizizz/Wayground, Spin Wheel, educational snakes-and-ladders games, Smart TVs, and various active learning strategies. The implementation of these innovations was adjusted to students’ characteristics, learning materials, and classroom conditions, thereby increasing student participation, motivation, and engagement in learning activities. Supporting factors included teacher creativity, support from the school principal, and the availability of educational facilities, whereas inhibiting factors involved limited infrastructure and restricted internet access. The study concludes that the success of learning innovation is determined not only by the availability of facilities but also by teachers’ ability to creatively adapt and utilize existing resources.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of educational qualifications, teacher competencies, and work motivation on the performance of kindergarten teachers in Mataram City, both partially and simultaneously. The study employs a quantitative approach using explanatory research. The study population consisted of 722 kindergarten teachers, with a sample of 88 teachers selected through proportional random sampling using the Slovin formula. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression using t-tests and F-tests. The results indicate that educational qualifications have a positive effect on teacher performance. Teacher competence has a partial negative and significant effect on performance (B = -0.179; Sig. = 0.020), while work motivation has a positive but insignificant effect (B = 0.099; Sig. = 0.201). Simultaneously, educational qualifications, teacher competence, and work motivation significantly influence kindergarten teachers’ performance (F = 3.546; Sig. = 0.033), although their contribution is relatively small (Adjusted R² = 0.051). These findings indicate that improvements in kindergarten teachers’ performance are influenced not only by competence and motivation but also by other factors such as working conditions, well-being, and teachers’ psychological workload. This study makes an empirical contribution to the development of research on human resource management in early childhood education, particularly regarding the phenomenon of the negative impact of competencies on teacher performance.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of traditional mindset on the low educational awareness of the community in Kanegarah Village, Konang District, Bangkalan Regency. Methods: This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five informants representing diverse backgrounds: students, university students, youth who dropped out of school, parents, and village officials. Observation and documentation were also utilized as supporting instruments. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation employed to ensure data credibility. Results: The findings reveal three main conclusions. First, traditional mindset significantly influences low educational awareness, manifested through the belief that formal education provides no direct economic benefit, the perception that basic literacy skills are sufficient, and the prioritization of work over schooling. Second, the community's educational awareness level remains categorized as low to moderate, characterized by minimal continuation to higher education levels, insufficient parental support for children's learning, and low intrinsic motivation among students. Third, several strategies are identified as effective for improving educational awareness, including intensive socialization programs for parents, empowerment of community and religious leaders as change agents, expansion of targeted scholarship access, strengthening the school's role in community engagement, and integration of educational values into local cultural traditions. Novelty: This study contributes new insights into the specific socio-cultural dynamics of Madurese society in Kanegarah Village, providing an empirically grounded understanding of how traditional mindset operates as a structural barrier to educational advancement in rural Indonesian communities.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of TikTok usage intensity on students' social interaction, with digital well-being serving as a mediating variable, among Economic Education students (classes of 2022–2023) at the University of Jambi within the context of the Technology 5.0 era. A quantitative approach utilizing a survey method was employed. The sample consisted of 141 students selected via proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3 software to examine the direct and indirect effects between the research variables. The results indicate that TikTok usage intensity has a positive and significant effect on social interaction (t = 3.728; p = 0.000) and on digital well-being (t = 9.362; p = 0.000). Digital well-being also exerts a positive and significant influence on social interaction (t = 6.867; p = 0.000). Furthermore, digital well-being was found to partially mediate the effect of TikTok usage intensity on social interaction (t = 5.440; p = 0.000).The novelty of this study lies in the integration of digital well-being as a mediating variable that explains the mechanism underlying the relationship between TikTok usage intensity and students' social interaction. This study also offers an empirical contribution regarding student digital behavior in the Technology 5.0 era, assessing not only the direct impact of social media but also the digital psychosocial mechanisms influencing social interaction.
