Painting is a branch of visual arts discipline in Nigeria education and often traced to Paleolithic age. The study was inspired by the dismal attitude of undergraduate towards painting and painting media this makes it very important for painting instructors to vary both media and method in painting. Therefore, Scaffolding serves as a panacea in filling the existing gap. Quasi-experimental design was used in the study. 60 undergraduate fine arts students of 200 levels of 29 male and 31 female were taken from a Nigeria university. The study presented two research questions and formulated two null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Scaffolding Painting Achievement Test (SPAT) was of 50 items objectives question extract from validated JAMB visual arts examination was the test items. The Data collected were analyzed with ANCOVA and t-test. Study disclosed that undergraduate students taught painting via Scaffolding performed better and no significant difference was recorded between the mean of both female and male arts learners exposed to Scaffolding. It was recommended that Scaffolding should be used for teaching of painting in Nigeria university.. DOI: 10.24071/ijiet.2020.040104

A positive learning experience stems from active engagement with the lesson and greater interaction in learning activities. This study investigated the types of learning experience of students in Bato School of Fisheries, Leyte, Philippines such as Hands-on, Minds-on and Authentic Learning. Also, the study analyzed the students’ level of achievement in learning mathematics under each type of learning experience. The study employed a random of 25% of the grade 7 students for experimental design that involves qualitative and quantitative approach. Result shows that the Hands-on learning experience of students is in beginning level which needs a proper guidance of the mathematics teacher. It is shown that students are more capable of Hands-on group activities in mathematics. For Minds-on learning experience, students are also in beginning level, however, it is found out that they are good in critical thinking processes which create and recreate mathematics concepts for the core topics. Furthermore, authentic learning experience is in beginning level, lowest among the 3 types of learning experience. This means that students must develop their problem solving skills in mathematics with the aid of suitable teaching strategies. Anyhow, it is found out that these students have a proficient level in mathematics achievement probably by their past knowledge. Hence, a good level of achievement in mathematics can be maintain or improve through enhancing the 3 types of learning experience especially the authentic aspect.

The purpose of learning implementation with the development of digital learning resources in the Micro Teaching Course is to (i) design and implement active and constructive learning dynamics in an effort to develop students' Ignatian Pedagogy-based teaching skills by utilizing Learning Management System Exelsa Moodle; (ii) produce teaching design and teaching videos that students can use in their efforts to develop their teaching skills. In general, the implementation of learning is about 90% in accordance with the plan. The expected final achievement is generally achieved, namely that students have good skills in managing mathematics learning in the peer teaching (Competence), have high spirit in developing teaching ability (Conscience) and have high concern in helping their friends in an effort to develop their teaching skills (Compassion). The use of Exelsa Moodle is also quite optimal, in which the course design and explanations and materials used in the lectures can be well communicated. Videos from short film projects with mathematical themes can also be produced properly and have been uploaded on Youtube. In this lecture the videos recording their teaching practice still tend to be a collection of learning and student labs concerned. These videos can be utilized to serve as examples in the discussion of teaching skills, whether from material mastery, delivery or class management.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24071/ijiet.2018.020210
