Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of ASN employee attendance discipline at the Human Resource Development and Civil Service Agency (BKPSDM) Batu City and the factors that influence it. This research is a qualitative study that uses interviews, documentation, and observation for data collection. The results showed the following. First, the leadership has implemented sanctions against violations of the attendance discipline. Second, the factors that support the implementation of ASN discipline in BKPSDM Batu City include: 1) the role of leadership role models and 2) the use of digital attendance. Leaders set a good example by being present on time and disciplined working hours, so that employees feel motivated. The use of digital absences also has a positive impact on discipline because the data cannot be manipulated. Third, the factors that become obstacles to improving discipline both time discipline and work discipline for ASN employees at BKPSDM Batu City include: 1) employees have not been able to manage the schedule of picking up and dropping off school children properly so that it interferes with working hours; 2) employees who violate consider the sanctions to be too light; 3) lack of effect from the sanctions received, for example a reduction in allowances or salaries; and 4) the level of tolerance for violations of attendance discipline is quite high. The leadership has set a good example in terms of attendance and accuracy of working hours.

Abstract

Education is one of the forms of quality Human Resources (HR). By applying the STEM approach in education, there are complex treatments that apply to the educational process in terms of technology, science, engineering and mathematics. The Study Literature Review (SLR) method was applied by researchers by analyzing relevant topics from 75 articles found but selected according to the needs of related topics, there were approximately 30 relevant articles that had been reviewed so the findings from this comparison which aims to find out STEM in Malaysian and Indonesian education, show that both countries basically have advantages and disadvantages regarding the application of STEM in each country in accordance with the country's policies, of course. However, the application of STEM in Malaysia is more inclined and has generally been realized in education in that country.

Abstract

The redrying unit is a tobacco drying unit at PT XYZ that functions to enhance aroma, ensure safe storage, and re-dry tobacco with the appropriate moisture level. In recent months, the redrying unit at PT XYZ has experienced a decline. The company management suspects that the decline in productivity is caused by problems with the efficiency of the production process. Therefore, a productivity analysis was conducted to determine the level of tobacco productivity at PT XYZ. In this study, the objective matrix (OMAX) productivity method was used. The weighting of criteria is measured using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the calculation results, the criteria of electrical energy, machine hours, labor, and raw materials have the highest partial productivity values of 1.22, 3.35, 10.57, and 98, respectively. The highest total productivity was achieved in the March 3 period at 650.7 and the lowest productivity in the November 9 period at 68.6. Improvements are made on all criteria, by applying the objective matrix method, PT XYZ is expected to increase the partial productivity and total productivity of the company in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an inquiry-based e-module to improve the ability of HOTS on electrical materials to change the face of the world in grade VI elementary school. The development method used is the Lee and Owen method, which includes the stages of assessment / analysis (Needs assessment and Front-end analysis), Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Qualitative and quantitative approaches are used in analyzing data, using validation instruments, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and HOTS ability tests as data collection tools. The results of data analysis showed that inquiry-based e-modules on electrical materials changing the face of the world had a feasibility rate of 86%, with the category "very practical". Student assessments also confirm the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of the e-module. The implication of the results of this study is a significant contribution in improving the HOTS of grade VI students at the UPT satuan Pendidikan SDN Klampok Kota Blitar. However, for the development of subsequent e-modules, it is recommended to continue to involve input from experts and teachers, and consider adjustments that may be needed based on student responses, in order to ensure the sustainability and successful use of these e-modules in improving HOTS.

Abstract

A tuna bones, particularly in the jaw region, constitute a category of food waste prevalent in North Sulawesi. Hydroxyapatite can be produced from tuna jaws. Abelmoschus manihot L (gedi) can improve the efficacy of hydroxyapatite as an antibacterial agent owing to its bioactive components. This study aimed to assess the antibacterial efficacy of hydroxyapatite treated with Abelmoschus manihot L extract. The samples were produced through multiple stages: preparation of tuna fish bones, synthesis of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (nHA), extraction of gedi leaves and biosynthesis of nHA from gedi leaf extract. Biosynthesis was conducted via the co-precipitation technique with diverse compositions. The samples were then analyzed using FTIR and TEM, and their antibacterial activity was assessed using the well diffusion method. According to the results of the FTIR study, functional groups from the gedi leaf extract were detected at wave numbers 1731 cm-1, 1234 cm-1, and 896 cm-1, and nHA was discovered at wave numbers 576 cm-1, 608 cm-1, 964 cm-1, and 1041 cm-1, indicating the phosphate group. Furthermore, the results of the TEM investigation revealed that the samples formed spheres smaller than 100 nm. The antibacterial activity of gedi extract/nHA at concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% revealed the presence of inhibitory zones in the strong and very strong categories for S. aureus bacteria. Meanwhile, E. coli bacteria's inhibitory zones were moderate to strong. This suggests that gedi/nHA extract possesses antibacterial properties, making it ideal for use in biomedical applications.
