Abstract

Hearing-impaired students must have the correct religious education and the same as typical pupils. Their inability factor can not be an excuse for leaving guidence and teaching in Islamic Education. This is because they need to live life as a muslim and be responsible as a servant of God. The purpose of this article is to discuss the mastery of pillar of prayer as well as issues and challenges in teaching and learning of Islamic Education among hearing-impaired students. This study is meta-analysis involving 25 articles. This article literacy search strategy use the two sources of electronic database, the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) and EBSCOHOST, which is filtered based on the latest publications from 2010 to 2017. The first screening of 25 articles involves the curriculum, the practices of Islamic education and the practice of prayer among hearing-impaired students. The second filter using keyword mastery, issues and challenges of Islamic education among hearing-impaired students resulted in 12 article to be meta-analyzed. The first findings show that the mastery of prayer is at a weak level due to cognitive disability, weak language proficiency and the limitation of communication of hearing-impaired students to the study of religion. The second findings involve the aspects of skills among teachers, lack of terminology and sign language corresponding to religion and lack of teaching aids. The implications of this study are expected to open the eyes of all parties in order to improve the teaching and learning needs of Islamic education among hearing-impaired students.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the “Kubaca” with picture method toward the enhancement of the early reading skill for hearing impairment child in the grade 1of Elementary Special School. The method used was the single-subject design research (SSR) with A-B-A-B design. The results of the data analysis showed that the subjects experienced an enhancement in the mean value. The mean percentage of all the behavior target in the baseline phase 1 (A1) was 25.5. The intervention mean of phase I (B1) has increased to be 58.4. In the baseline phase 2 (A2) mean decreased to 38.9. Then intervention 2 (B2) was given for a baseline back, so that the mean becomed 75.3. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode “Kubaca” dengan gambar terhadap peningkatan membaca permulaan anak tunarungu kelas 1 SDLB. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain A-B-A-B. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa subjek mengalami peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan yang dapat dilihat dari peningkatan nilai mean. Persentase mean dari seluruh target behavior pada fase baseline 1 (A1) adalah 25.5. Mean pada fase intervensi 1 (B1) mengalami peningkatan sehingga menjadi 58.4. Pada fase baseline 2 (A2) mean mengalami penurunan menjadi 38.9. Kemudian intervensi 2 (B2) kembali diberikan karena terjadi penurunan, sehingga mean menjadi 75.3.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop instruction book of archipelago cake making for students with hearing impairment. The research adapted the Sugiyono (2011) model which consists of 7 stages: (1) potential problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) validation of the design, (5) design revisions, (6) product testing, and (7) the revision of the product. The results of matter experts was 97%, media experts was 92%, and practitioners (teachers) was 98%. The individual experimental result was 90% for student I, 95% for student II, and 80% for student III. The result of field experimental from the evaluation to the students were 82,66 in average scoring. The research result showed that the instruction book about archipelago cake making in study of cook and food preparation for students with hearing impairment in state SMPLB was proper and effective.

Abstract

Visual Impairment is obstacle in vision function that requires a different way of learning with other normal person. Visual impairment have the tools to learn how to read and writing like braille. Reading is activity that is needed to get the information. The objective of this study is to describe the effect of sally mangold tactual perception exercise toward subject’s early reading ability that viewed from before and after intervention. The method was experiment of single subject reasecrh design with A-B-A model. The conclusion of this study was found a positive effect of Sally Mangold tactual perception exercise toward subject’s early reading ability. The positive effect was seen from the increase score subject’s early reading ability from 50% to 98%.Tunanetra merupakan hambatan fungsi pengelihatan yang membutuhkan cara belajar yang berbeda dengan orang normal lainnya. tunanetra memiliki alat untuk belajar membaca dan menulis disebut braille. Membaca adalah kegiatan yang diperlukann untuk mendapatkan informasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pengaruh latihan persepsi taktual Sally Mangold terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan subyek dilihat dari sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain Single Subyek Resecrh dan model A-B-A. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ditemukan pengaruh positif latihan persepsi taktual Sally Mangold terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan subyek. Pengaruh tersebut dilihat dari skor kemampuan membaca permulaan subyek dari 50% menjadi 98%.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um029v4i12017p069

Abstract

The write ability of hearing impairment students have problems in composing a sentence, and even harder to explore thoughts into an article. The purpose of this research was to knowing the effect of serial image media usage toward narrative essay writing ability for students with hearing impairment. This research was using research design Quasi Experiment with one group pre-test –post-test design model. This research used observation in data collection technique to know initially the ability of the students in pre-test and post-test. The results of of this analysis showed the use of media images effect the ability to write narrative essays for students with hearing impairment.Kemampuan menulis siswa tunarungu mengalami hambatan dalam menyusun suatu kalimat dan bahkan rumit dalam mengungkapkan ide pikiran pada sebuah tulisan. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu guna mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi pada siswa tunarungu kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dengan model satu kelompok (one group pre-test –post-test design). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan observasi untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa, pre-test dan post-test. Hasil analisis uji menunjukkan bahwa nilai maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima.

Abstract

Communication is very important in the life. The children that were born with hearing impairment get less access to speech acoustic information for detecting and discriminating among speech sounds. Therefore, some program is needed to develop the remaining hearing. Perception Communication Construct of Sound and Rhythm (Bina Komunikasi Persepsi Bunyi dan Irama/BKPBI) is a program that aims to develop the potential for hearing to communicate. The aim of this study wa to know the implementation of BKPBI at TK-LB Santi Rama in Jakarta. This study used qualitative method by collecting observation data from classroom and BKPBI program, and interviewing the principal and teachers in the school. The results showed that the school implemented BKPBI program in the big class, private class, and in BKPBI room. The school implemented three step program such as assessment, implementation and evaluation. Besides, There is individual and classical program for hearing and articulation program.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe: (1) writing ability of students with Intellectual and development disabilities in class VII SMPLB on baseline phase, (2) writing ability of students with Intellectual and development disabilities class VII SMPLB on intervention phase, (3) the effect of picture series media towards writing ability of students with intellectual and development disabilities class VII SMPLB. This study used Single Subject Research (SSR) with the A-B-A, baseline phase-1 (A1) to Intervention (B) and continued to Baseline-2 (A2). Based on the results, it was concluded that there was the effect of picture series media towards simple sentences writing ability of a student with intellectual and developmental disabilities on class VII SMPLB.Tujuan penelitian ini diantaranya: (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa tunagrahita kelas VII SMPLB pada kondisi baseline, (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa tunagrahita kelas VII SMPLB pada kondisi intervensi, (3) mendeskripsikan pengaruh media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa tunagrahita kelas VII SMPLB. Penelitian ini menggunakkan rancangan penelitian Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain penelitian A-B-A, fase baseline-1 (A1) ke Intervensi (B) dan dilanjutkan ke baseline- 2 (A2). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat pada siswa tunagrahita kelas VII SMPLB.

Abstract

The objective of study is to describe skill of shirt wearing before and after intervention and describe effect shaping technique towards skill of shirt wearing for intellectual disability. Method used is single-subject research with A-B-A design. The subject was a child with intellectual disability Grade I of SDLB. Analysis of data used was and inter-condition. Results showed that the effect of shaping techniques towards skills of shirt wearing child with intellectual disability. The conclusion that there is effect shaping techniques toward skill of shirt wearing intellectual disability. Suggestions include provide learning approaches variety, parents expected to cooperate in developing independence of intellectual disability, require fundamental research.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan memakai kemeja anak sebelum dan setelah diberikan intervensi dan pengaruh teknik shaping terhadap keterampilan memakai kemeja anak tunagrahita. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimen subjek tunggal dengan desain A-B-A. Subjek adalah anak tunagrahita ringan kelas 1 SDLB. Analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis dalam kondisi dan antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh teknik shaping terhadap keterampilan memakai kemeja anak tunagrahita. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah terdapat pengaruh antara teknik shaping terhadap keterampilan memakai kemeja anak tunagrahita. Saran penelitian berikan variasi pendekatan pembelajaran, orang tua diharapkan bekerjasama dalam mengembangkan kemandirian anak, perlu penelitian mendasar dalam pembelajaran bina diri.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um029v4i12017p056

Abstract

The aims of this research were to describe: (1) the implementation of drawing college in improving the ability of beginning writing (2) the improvement of beginning writing ability through the implementation of drawing. This research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The result showed that (1) the implementation makes students actively involved in the learning process (2) the implementation of collage drawing could improve the ability of beginning writing for students with an intellectual disability in the 2nd Grade SDLBTujuan dari penelitian ini mendiskripsikan : mendeskripsikan efek menggambar kolase dalam meningkatan kemampuan menulis permulaan pada siswa tunagrahita. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas II SDLB Muhammadiyah Jombang, Jatim. Hasil penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penerapan menggambar kolase membuat siswa berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran, serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan pada siswa tunagrahita.

Abstract

Reading is one of the fundamental skills across all subjects. A student with low competency in reading will experience difficulties in teaching and learning. The purpose of this research is to improve reading skills among student with learning disability in one secondary school in Bangi, Selangor. This action research had employed Reading Assessment Approach and descriptive analysis in data collection. Seven students with reading problem participated in this research. However, these students were having potential to be included in either Inclusive Program or Job Transition Program. Therefore, one reading program known as KLISA Program (Language Clinic Program) was created and it has been implemented in classroom for 30 minutes during the first period every day. This 9-month program had employed phonics method and used a set of ‘Bacalah Anakku’ books and ABM Velcro in three phases. The reading assessment was conducted at the end of each phase to evaluate the students’ achievement in reading. The findings of this research proved that KLISA Program was effective for students’ improvement in reading. Hence, it is recommended that this program can be consistently implemented to overcome illiterate and reading disorder among primary and secondary school students.Kemahiran membaca adalah merentas semua matapelajaran. Kelemahan dalam kemahiran membaca akan menyebabkan kesulitan mengikuti pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemahiran membaca di kalangan murid-murid bermasalah pembelajaran di sebuah sekolah menengah di Bangi, Selangor. Penelitian tindakan ini menggunakan pendekatan penilaian penaksiran bacaan dan analisis deskriptif untuk mengumpul data, Seramai 7 orang murid dalam sebuah kelas terlibat dalam kajian ini. Mereka terdiri dari murid bermasalah pembelajaran yang berpotensi untuk diserapkan di dalam Program Inklusif atau Transisi pekerjaan tetapi masih tidak boleh membaca. Satu program pemulihan bacaan iaitu Program KLISA (Program Klinik Bahasa) dilaksanakan selama 30 menit masa pertama sesi pengajaran setiap hari persekolahan. Pelaksanaan program ini menekankan kaedah fonik menggunakan set buku ‘Bacalah Anakku’ dan ABM Velcro serta dibuat dalam 3 gelungan yang mengambil masa 9 bulan. Penilaian bacaan dibuat setiap 3 bulan yang mewakili satu gelungan untuk melihat pencapaian murid dalam bacaan. Penilaian tersebut dibuat menggunakan satu set instrumen penilaian yang mewakili 8 tahap bacaan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan peningkatan kemahiran bacaan yang memberansangkan di kalangan murid-murid yang terlibat. Justeru itu disarankan program seumpamanya dilaksanakan secara konsisten bagi mengatasi masalah buta huruf dan tidak pandai membaca dikalangan murid-murid peringkat rendah dan menengah.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um029v4i12017p016
