Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of teachers to use teaching aids in SMP Negeri 5 Langsa. The source of the data in this study were mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Langsa and teaching aids. Data sources are explored using interview techniques and observation of teacher activities related to the use of teaching aids that are integrated in learning. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Based on data analysis obtained information that the ability of teachers to use teaching aids is not optimal. Analysis of interviews and observations obtained information on teacher activities related to the use of mathematics teaching aids do not arrive at the concepts or mathematical formulas learned.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students 'critical thinking skills and students' mathematical communication in problem posing learning based on South Kalimantan's local wisdom. This research method is pretest and posttest two group design. The sample in this study were 7A and 7B classes at Banjarbaru 1 Junior High School. Data collection was carried out using test instruments. Data analysis is done descriptively and inferential statistics. The results indicate (1) there is no effect of problem posing learning based on the local wisdom of South Kalimantan on students' critical thinking skills; (2) there is no effect of learning based on South Kalimantan's local wisdom on students' mathematical communication skills; (3) descriptively, problem posing learning based on South Kalimantan's local wisdom is better than conventional learning in critical thinking skills and students' mathematical communication.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain good multiple choice questions, viewed from valid and reliable. Validity test used in this study is Pearson correlation test, and reliability testing using Cronbach alpha. The draft of the questions was 24, with the proportion of each level of thinking skill represented by 4 questions. The level of thinking skill in question is based on the revised version of Bloom's taxonomy namely Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, and Creating. Each question has four answer choices according to the provisions for junior high school students. From the results of the trial and data analysis, it was found that there were 16 valid and reliable questions, with an overall reliability score of 0.602. The results of this study are expected to be used to obtain an overview of the level of thinking skills of junior high school students in schools and in other regions.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and discussions with teachers at Pelambuan 7 Elementary School in Banjarmasin with class III teachers, it was concluded that students were still having difficulties in following mathematics learning, especially on flat-build material. The teaching materials that they use so far are ordinary textbooks and limited number of LKS and are not made by the teacher itself, so that they are not in accordance with the character of students. Meaningful learning is a process of connecting new information with relevant concepts contained in one's cognitive structure. The model used in this study is the Plomp model because it has a simple, systemic and clearly understood sequence, according to Plomp (Hobri 2010) there are five phases in designing this development, namely (1) Initial investigation phase (2) Design phase (3) Realization / construction (4) Evaluation and revision phase (5) Implementation phase. The results of this study produce student textbooks. Student textbooks consist of three parts, namely the introduction, discussion and closing. The results of expert and practitioner validation showed that the developed student textbooks were declared valid with an average score of 3.4. so that the student textbooks have met the practicality criteria. The effectiveness of student textbooks is determined from the analysis of (1) the mastery test of textbook material, (2) the activity of teachers and students, and (3) the results of interviews with students. Based on the trials that have been carried out, the results obtained are as much as 85% get a minimum score of 65, so that the classical completeness criteria have been met.

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview of the level of thinking of high school students in terms of Bloom's revised taxonomy and see its relation to gender. The type of research conducted is Quantitative Descriptive with the Ex Post Facto approach, which is research conducted to examine events that have occurred which then traces back to find out the factors that can lead to these events. The event referred to in this study is HOTS students, while the factors that can lead to these events are gender. The results showed that there was no relationship between the level of students' thinking skills and their gender.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat penilaian autentik untuk pembelajaran matematika di kelas VII semester 1 yang autentik, reliabel dan valid meliputi instrumen dengan kompetensi dasar bilangan bulat, garis dan sudut, serta rasio dan perbandingan untuk penilaian KI 1, KI 2, KI 3, dan KI 4 berupa: indikator, instrumen penilaian, dan rubrik penilaian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (research & development). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp (2010) tiga tahap pengembangan yaitu preliminary research, prototyping phase, dan assessment phase. Aspek reliabilitas dari uji coba lapangan. Aspek kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari penilaian para ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk aspek penilaian autentik berupa aspek konteks dan tugas memperoleh kategori baik, sedangkan aspek peserta didik dan indikator memperoleh kategori sangat baik. Perangkat yang dikembangkan juga telah memenuhi taraf konsistensi dan reliabilitas, dengan hasil penilaian kualitas oleh ahli memperoleh kategori valid.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada materi SPLDV SMP. Konsep merupakan suatu obyek penting dalam matematika. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di SMP Islam PGRI Sumber Pitu, Kec. Tutur, Pasuruan kelas VIII A, didapat kesimpulan bahwa terdapat 11 anak dari 28 anak yang belum memahami konsep tentang persamaan linier dua variabel. Penggunaan Pendekatan Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) dalam pembelajaran merupakan solusi untuk membantu peserta didik dalam memahami konsep. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas secara kolaboratif yang dilakukan untuk memahamkan konsep peserta didik SMP Islam PGRI Sumber Pitu, Kec. Tutur. Hasil penelitian ini adalah meningkatnya pemahaman siswa dari tindakan I ke tindakan II. Hal ini terbukti dengan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa dari tes tindakan 1 ke tes tindakan 2. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilaksanakan pada tindakan 1 yang berjumlah 18 dari 28 peserta didik mencapai kategori cukup paham dengan rata- rata perolehan skor yaitu 6. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilaksanakan pada tindakan II yang berjumlah 24 dari 28 peserta didik mencapai kategori paham dengan rata – rata skor 8.

Abstract

Globalization slowly threaten the nation’s noble values inherited from the ancestors. Local wisdom values which is a part of a nation's identity, is often forgotten as the life becomes more and more modern. If this kind of situation keep happening continously, then this nation might be lost their identity. Hence, strengthening the local wisdom is something that needs to be seriously conducted, with education being one of the means. This study talk about the effort to strengthening the local wisdom in learning process, especially in mathematics learning through culture based learning. In 1985, D’Ambrosio introduce the concept of culture based learning in mathematical context known as ethnomathematics. In general, ethnomathematics can be saw as concepts of mathematics in a cultural and anthropological framework. In ethnomathematics, students were not only encouraged to improve their math skills, but also preserving culture which is the nation's indigenous character. Therefore, ethnomathematics is considered relevant in not only improving the students' math skills, but also strengthens their local wisdom values.

Abstract

This research aims to produce learning kits for even numerical semester subjects with visual thinking learning accompanied by quick on the draw activities on student learning outcomes. This type of research is research on the development of ADDIE (Analysis; Design; Development; Implementation; Evaluation) models. The subjects of this study were lecturers and students of class A in the fourth semester of Mathematics Education at Madura University. This study produced learning tools in the form of RPM, LKM, and THB. From the results of expert validation, scores of observations of lecturer and student activities, learning outcomes tests, and student response questionnaires indicate that RPM, LKM, and THB are valid, practical, and effective. Valid because the coefficient of validity of RPM, LKM, and THB has an average value of 3,79. Practical because the average score of lecturer and student activity was 3,78 (very good) and 3,38 (good) respectively. And effective because the student response is 84,76% (positive); and the test results amounted to 85,71% (completed classically).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap kemandirian belajar matematika mahasiswa program studi matematika FKIP UIR Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 pada mata kuliah Aljabar Linear. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa matematika semester 3 (tiga) yang terdiri dari lima kelas, yaitu kelas 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D dan 3E. Sampel yang dipilih kelas 3B dan 3D. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah teknik angket yang terlebih dahulu telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi TPS dengan mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan konvensional dengan nilai Prestest (Sig 0,072) dan Postest (Sig 0,000 ). Selain itu, nilai kemandirian belajar mahasiswa pun berbeda antara kelompok eksperimen (Min. 85,76 dan SD. 7,47) dengan kelompok kontrol (Min. 83,97 dan SD 6,61). Maka dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan metode Think Pair Share (TPS) dapat mempengaruhi kemandirian belajar dan hasil belajar matematika mahasiswa program studi matematika FKIP UIR secara signifikan.
