Abstract

DKI Jakarta is a metropolitan city which is well-known as a flood subscriber and ranks number 1 as the region with the most waste in Indonesia. Various attempts have been done by the government to reduce the use of plastic as one of the waste that is difficult to decompose, both in the form of appeals to regulations. This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge with the use of green packaging behavior in the people of DKI Jakarta. This research is a quantitative research using survey method and Pearson correlation analysis. The analysis shows that the higher level of public knowledge about green packaging will have a good effect on the behavior of using green packaging. The dominant factor that is considered by the public in recognizing and using green packaging is environmental care, social media and the surrounding social environment. Many people have already know about the Regulations of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 142 Year 2019 regarding the obligation to use environmentally friendly shopping bags at shopping centers, supermarkets and people's markets.  In addition, the community is willing to start switching to green packaging little by little, such as carrying their own shopping bags, drinking bottles and lunch boxes, and educating people around them to do the same.

Abstract

This study aims to explain why informal knowledge is important for sustainable agricultural development, and finally we try to provide input to increase informal knowledge from farmers in agribusiness centers in West Java Province. The selected informants are farmers who are engaged in horticultural business, have connections and contributions to agricultural development in rural areas and have a role in developing knowledge. Information is collected through various methods that involve in-depth interviews as well as in-depth observations. Farmers' informal knowledge has contributed a lot to the development of sustainable and resilient agriculture. Formal institutions need to pay attention to social, ecological and local economic aspects, focusing on farmers' needs, and not on knowledge that is readily generalized to farmers. Agriculture in a dynamic, complex and local specific context demands a more inclusive, participatory, collaborative model and stronger integration between actors. All actors in the field of horticultural agriculture, especially farmers, must be recognized as equal parties both formally and informally. Collaboration of all parties needs to be improved and integrated in the process of developing horticultural agriculture so that it becomes a stronger and more sustainable business.

Abstract

CV. Bumi Agro Technology is one of the strawberry farming in West Java which is still surviving until now amidst various constraints on strawberry fruit production, such as fluctuating production yields and production failures. This indicates that there is a risk that occurs in strawberry production activities. The research objectives are (1) identifying the causes of risk, (2) determine the probability and impact of risk, and (3) proposing various risk management strategies. The research design used a qualitative design with a case study research technique. The analytical tools used are Z-Score analysis and Value at Risk analysis. The results showed that the risk of production was caused by various sources of risk, namely human resources with a probability of 38.2% and an impact of Rp. 2,018,298, capital or farm finance with a probability of 30.5% and an impact of Rp. 1,015,439, plant pests and diseases with a probability of 24.5% and an impact of Rp. 1,097,284, and natural resources with a probability of 10.7% and an impact of Rp. 738,319. Based on the results of risk measurement analysis, a strategy can be formulated that can be implemented to minimize risk. The source of risk that causes the highest production risk is human resources. One of the proposed strategies that can be implemented to reduce the risk of production caused by human resources is empowering human resources who have low educational background and insight by improving the quality of education for the labor through counseling and training accompanied by field coordinators or field extension officers and then immediately implemented in the field.

Abstract

Many studies involving the measurement of rice attributes which are then analyzed to determine customer satisfaction have been carried out. In general, these measurements are carried out by researchers by determining the dimensions or constructs first. Whereas some of the attributes contained in a dimension or between these dimensions may be correlated with each other so that the results of consumer assessments can be biased. The city of Bandung has a relatively high level of rice consumption. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that underlie consumers in Bandung to assess the level of importance (expectations) of rice attributes. The research design is quantitative with survey research techniques to 108 respondents. Sampling using multistage sampling method. Primary data were analyzed by Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method. The results showed that from the 14 variables of the importance of the rice attribute, 4 factors were formed that underlie consumer assessments of these attributes. Factor 1 contains 4 level of importance variables of rice attribute namely, the amount of beras kepala, habits, more filling, and easy to process. Factor 2 contains 6 level of importance variables of rice attributes, namely rice shape, whiteness, number of broken rice, groat content, rice grain length, and rice grain elongation. Factor 3 contains 3 level of importance variable namely, rice durability, affordable prices, and easy to obtain. Factor 4 contains the level of importance of the prestige attribute only. Information in the fourteen variables can be absorbed almost 66% by the four factors formed.
